  4. Hello, I was banded on the 13th of Oct. good luck with your surgery. I had mine at Temple in Philadelphia, but I live 30 minutes from Lehigh Valley. My husbands insurance would not pay for me to have it done there. would love to here about your experience there.

  5. Hi :) It looks like you and I have the same surgery date :) Just wanted to say Hi!!

  6. Hey Shar Pei, The hospital I am going to actually requires that you complete their 6 month pre-surgical program. I am in month 5 and and am finished on Sept 9. I have had my nutritional visit, my psych visit and the surgeon visit. All of my pre-op testing (labs, x-rays, etc) will be done about 2 weeks prior to surgery date. All that is left is to finish my program and submit to insurance for approval (keeping my fingers crossed). Good Luck to you!
  7. Anyone out there have a October 2009 surgery date? Mine is scheduled for October 27 and I can't wait! I am having a bit of 'reality' anxiety I think.. now that the date is actually set - but I know this is the best decision for me. Good Luck to all of us who are taking this important step in improving our health and starting a 'new life' Would love to hear from other Oct 2009 bandsters...
  8. Hello All. I had my 1st appointment with surgeon today and I couldn't be more pleased with the way it was handled. I have over 100 lbs to lose and I was 95% sure that he was going to try and convince me that bypass was the best option for me. To my (pleasant) suprise, my surgeon did not even attempt to talk me into bypass. On the contrary, he told me that he believed I was making the best choice for my goals and that he feels I will be successful with the band. I feel very fortunate that my surgeon was so supportive of my choice and what I want... All I can say to those of you who feel the surgeon is trying to pursuade you to go with bypass is... make the decision that you feel is best for YOU! Remember, you are the one who has to live with the decision, not the surgeon. Good Luck to all of you...
