8 days post op and STARVING and WEAK - HELP!

I'm glad you mentioned that about not trying an egg. I'm nine days out and I want a cheesy scrambled egg sooo bad. I did start having cottage cheese before I legally should have and it makes my life. In the big picture, I need to just shush up and keep drinking. Gulp Gulp Gulp.:hungry:

What does everyone do for a living?

I'm an HR Director. I had a substance abuse problem up until about five years ago and I feel like my life was spared so that it could have some meaning. Now I get to help our employees who are battling the pain of being human and I've never felt the need to be "anonymous" about my addiction. However, because one of my roles also involves occasionally having to write up or even fire employees, I don't want anyone at work to know I'm a bandster. I've been through so much pain in being judged in my life, that the idea of a disgruntled employee saying, "What do you know, you can't even control what you eat?" is my worst nightmare. It's been strange to not tell anyone at work where I've disappeared to for these few weeks and I know it has strained my friendship with one close coworker in particular, but I figure if you don't want people to know something, don't say anything. Maybe I just need some time to adjust to this new life and my blessings in being about to lose weight will be yet another thing I can humbly share with people who need to hear about it?
  7. I took a drop-in dance class at a local bar in Portland. The women make a circle on the outside and the men make a circle on the inside. Every five minutes or so, the teacher tells the men to rotate and they all move one woman clockwise. Anway, I was partnered with a tall, blond, "I could be on Baywatch" Australian guy and all of a sudden, he just walked away and went and stood in the corner of the room because he didn't want to dance with me, even for a few minutes. I didn't know what to do...couldn't dance by myself and it was clear to the hunderd or so other students what was going on. To this day, even when I read posts about dancing again when we feel more confident in our bodies, I can still feel that shame washing over me in waves from that dance class.
  8. Hi Everybody. I was just banded yesterday in Monterrey Mexico by Dr. Rumbaut. Things aren't EXACTLY like the US, though some are. For example, I think I'm a bit of a high maintenance princess in both countries. The nurses here seemed a bit lazy - but overall it was much like I expected. Except for the pain. I did a lot of reading beforehand and have to say, I might not have been brave enough to go through it had I known how incredibly uncomfortable the first 24 hours would be. It's better now and I'm extremely grateful to have been able to do this but OUCH! Dr. Rumbaut was able to do the main incision through my navel and even spared my piercing area. He said my dimensions were perfect to do that and most people's aren't so not to brag about it but you know me (ha ha...well you will). I will be locked up in a hotel for a few days here in Monterrey and will try to pop on and get to know everybody. sleeping a lot. All in all, this is the best thing that ever happened to me and I can't wait to start eating healthy meals and getting my life back.
