  1. Good question .... hmmmm I never measure my liquids. Now that I think about it, I never measure anything. My band is tight, so I have trouble eating anything very solid ....... like meat. I eat things like yogurt, Soup, chili, cottage cheese, oatmeal ........... I am very tight in the morning, so sometimes I can not even eat a 1/2 portion of oatmeal. I drink a Protein shake on my way to work. Some of the Protein Bars are even too solid. My big meal of the day is usually lunch. I can sometimes eat a small chili from wendy's. Sometimes I can only eat half of it. I take soup to work sometimes.
  2. I've been debating whether I should infuriate the masses by revealing my diet and the one food that I lost 60 lbs eating daily, but I haven't decided if the "judges" can handle it. Stay tuned, lol Amen about the judges! I have been slapped down by the judges/experts as well. The funny thing is they jump up on thier judge/expert soap boxes sometimes even before they are banded, or shortly there after. Hey, you have lost a huge amount of weight, so don't let the judges bother you.
  3. That is so great ! I am so happy for you ! It's a very big milestone in the journey. I hope to join you in Onderland VERY SOON!
  4. I don't know what it will be like for you and exactly what your relationship is with your husband, but can speak from my own situation. I would think it would be easier if you were both banded. My husband has never been overweight in his life. I still cook for him, as I have done for over 23 years. Now sometimes I am cooking 2 different things .... food for him and food for me. It just seems like it would be so much nicer to have a bandbuddy living in the same house.
  5. exactly why I directed this poster to the other thread .................. I had hopes that after reading the "I hate fat people" thread, dementedfrog would learn ................. in a positive way
  6. whatever ................... you missed the point of the original post. This post was started by a 26 year old who is having some very real feelings. My own son is 27 years old. There are ways people could have responded that would have been helpful instead of so hateful. I do not share the feelings of the original post, but directed the poster to a much more insightful thread to help them understand some of the feelings.
  7. yea, you missed quite a lot. And you turned it more negative than needed
  8. Bring this back up .................... for frog .... very interesting thread
  9. Frog, I hope you stick with LBT. I know this thread went bad for you, as some of mine have for me. I stick with LBT because it can still be full of info and support .....................
  10. these are normal feelings for some people .... don't hate.
  11. there was another thread just like this one not too long ago. the responses were much more positive and insightful about the way you are feeling. I'm not sure what the title of the thread was ...... maybe somthing like "I hate fat people" not sure .... if I find it, I will let you know
  12. I have pretty good luck with JCPenney. Go to the store and try on all the different brands. I too am at a size 38D. I just had to go try on about 15 before I found one that fit properly.
  13. mine said coffee and tea are ok .... no soda. In fact, my NUT said that the tea + sweet n low that I drink daily is ok. I never have liked carbonated stuff much, but have been drinking the tea + sweet n low for many years.
  14. StephanieF, CONGRATS!!! your weightloss is great !!!
  15. I like my band tight. I don't waste time or obcess about every gram of everything I put in my mouth. If I wanted to do that I would have skipped getting the band. I also do not live on junk food or icecream. I try to keep my protein up, but do not obcess about every gram. I take my vitamins daily. I also have not turned into a fitness expert, as some seem to think they are. My band is not so tight that I throw up, but it has been very tight since September.
  16. I was told if you can see through it, it is considered clear. Good luck with the surgery and see you on the other side ! just think, you will be a banster tomorrow!
  17. I was banded July 9, 09. I am satisfied with the results so far. Of course I still have that feeling that I want it all off right now, but have lost so much more than I ever would have without the band. I hope to be at or near my goal weight by July 2010! AND KEEP IT OFF!
  18. mine is pretty tight. It seems to be working for me. The scale numbers keep dropping. I am not to goal yet, but hope to be there at my 1 year mark.
  19. there are rules/laws about a patient who reports pain. They absolutly have to see you if you report pain. If they do not, it is neglect. But ...... I would not mess around with that. Find a lap-band Dr. and make the drive to get everything checked. It may be something simple ..... then make the drive for fills ..... put your mind at ease and make that drive.
  20. I have been taking 2 types of B12 for several months now and they do not seem to be helping me. I have the liquid B complex plus extra B12 and the sublingual B12/ biotin. Several years ago I tried the shots and they did not help either. I think it works for some people and not others. I would say try it anyway and see if it helps you. I think it is harder for me because my fatigue is much more profound because I have fibromyalgia and CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). I have had those for many years before the band.
  21. I am not up to date on all the new stuff like depo as I have not had a visit from aunt flo in over 20 years, but... they gave me antibiotics to take after surgery. I know antibiotics will make "the pill" ineffective, but not sure how they effect the depo shot. If I were you, I would use other forms of birth control for awhile if you are in the position where pregnancy could happen.
  22. when you say, "I just needed a little help taking off that last hundred pounds."
  23. lol... just looked at when this thread was started... 2003 ! I hope it helps anyone who is looking for a fiil Dr. in Colorado in 2009 or 2010.
  24. I was banded by Dr. Kirshenbaum in auora/denver. His prices are low in general. I have had 2 fills with him and it was painless. I do not know what his rules or prices are for patients he didn't do the surgery on, but it would be worth calling and asking about. The office is also easy to find. (303) 695-1304
