    1st day of liquids

My surgery is scheduled for January 13. My doctor requires me to be on a 10 day liquid diet, but it doesn't have to be CLEAR liquid - thank God!! I'm so very excited that it doesn't have to be clear!! I researched a lot of proteins and settled on one made by GNC. It's called "Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60".. evidently the proteins are easier for your stomach to digest and there is no lactose in it to upset your stomach. I'm gearing up gathering things I will need.

    pre-banded,impatient,nervous woman

Just checking in on you to see how you are doing!! Please let us know!
  4. Might want to call and check with them again. I had my paperwork submitted in July. In November (early) I had my husband call to find out why they were obviously denying me (since I had received NO information from them.) Apparently they approved me August 6 - yet did not inform me?? I finally got my paperwork two weeks ago from them and sure enough, it has an approval date of 8/6! I'm very aggrivated about it.
  5. Hello! Glad to meet you. I'm from Dry Ridge, KY and am scheduled to be banded on 1/13. Keep us updated on your progress!!

    1st day of liquids

I don't have an answer for you, but I'll be watching this thread. My liquid days are fast approaching and honestly, I'm quite scared about it. Please keep us updated. Good luck!
  7. The asked me the following: :describe my childhood. :What my eating habits were as a child. :About how my family would react, if there was ever any abuse in my family. :how I felt about food :how I planned on changing the way I felt about food :did I have a support system now :why did I think this would work for me when everything else hasn't those type of things. Hope it helps! Honestly, there is nothing to worry about. I too have had depression, we discussed that and there were no problems.
  8. I am a patient of Dr. Moon's. I'm not having very good success in dealing with his office staff. I'm wondering if anyone else has been banded by him and how they thought the process went. He's at what use to be St. Luke - and is now St. Elizabeth Hospital. Thanks! Ginger
  9. Congrats on your surgery. Also, THANK YOU for posting the video. I've been wondering exactly what it would be like, and your video has helped me with that. Again, Thank you!

    People are just Rude!

OMG! That song was on in the gas station today when I paid for my gas. I have always loved that song. My mom played it when I was a kid (I'm 38 now.) GREAT lesson in that song.

    Popcorn???

Just be mindful that it's "mindless" eating. You're not really paying attention to how much is put in your mouth due to watching the movie. :tongue_smilie:

    Few questions please help.

Surgery is never the "good/easy" way out. It's hard work.. even after the band. Too many of my loved ones/friends have had it done and it is not a magic bullet. So... if you decide to do this.. be prepared that it takes work.

    Hight questions?

I got pissed off when my first doctor recommended that to me. If he was truly interested in my health, having me add on more weight so that I could have surgery to lose weight is ridiculous.
  14. I had a $600 program fee. I thought that was a bit much until I read 4K! wow.. I'd keep looking.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

I will say I am very aware of what I'm eating now. I see my surgeon in the morning and hope to get my exact date. I am noticing what the kids are eating more and more too. I'm really hoping to not put on any more weight, and also terrified to lose any. I'm afraid that the insurance company will decide I don't need the procedure if I lose it on my own.

    PCOS.. Who's got it?

OOOH OOOH PICK ME PICK ME! ... I have it too. I was diagnosed 7 years ago. I'm 38 now. Funny thing was the doctor that told me took his time and sat beside me and held my hand while he told me that I would most likely never have children of my own. I told him (several times) that my three daughters were in the lobby. Yes, three. The first one was hard to get, however, the factory kicked into overdrive. They are now 11, 9 and 7. Factory is now closed. Tried for a fourth, no such luck. However.. the doctor did say if I wanted a boy... get a dog. I sure do love that dog.

    Any January 2010 Bandsters????

Well, my insurance said when they got the paperwork it would take them 45 days to make a determination. I waited 50 and couldn't stand it any longer. I had my husband call them and ask what the reason for denial was, and to my surprise, they told him that I was covered completely. Their definition of "completely" means I have one full year from the date of agreement to have the procedure done. Evidently, from their paperwork, I was approved in August. I just got word of that last week. Apparently it only took them 2 weeks to approve it. As far as testing, I did the psych eval, and the nutritionist meetings. That's been it!!:thumbup::scared2::thumbup::laugh::thumbup::laugh::thumbup::woot::thumbup::w00t:

    Anthem and Requirements

I've done the psych eval and the nutrionist due to that being part of my doctor's "plan".. however, I haven't had to do anything else for the insurance. They approved me the first try. I had expected to wait the 6 months which seems typical, however that wasn't required in my case. I do have Anthem for insurance.
