    Ladies..question about AF

I had a cycle a few weeks after my surgery (which was normal/expected) My cycle after that however came about a week late.. I was worried about being pregnant, as I was only a month out! But thankfully that was not the case.. I am now 2 months out and my cycle actually came early this month, but it could be due to a new birth control method... I think the surgery could be behind any cycle problems.
  2. 61 lbs down! So glad to feel alive again!!!

  3. Try this... Its called Click Espresso Protien Drink... It has coffee and protein!! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002GKEK7G/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A1JOKHZE1W04XW
  4. I was able to take pretty good sized pills 3 days after surgery. I was offered liquid hydrocodone, but I took the pill because the liquid was gross! (it was like alcohol) I can take several big pills at a time if I swallow them one at a time. I think metformin wont be a problem to get down.
  5. I went back to work after a week.. I think the younger you are, the faster you recover.. I spent 2 days in the hospital, (could of been one, but I stuggled with dehydration) and honestly I could of went back to work a few days later, lol.. I was so bored! I work full-time, and I sit all day, so maybe that helped, but I felt back to 100% by Friday ( I had surgery on a monday)

    struggling

I noticed the reason I was going into stalls was because I wasn't eating enough. I'd eat lightly for a week, go into a stall, eat more, get out of the stall, eat lightly... back into a stall!! So, I got fed up, and just started eating a little more than I was.. and well I haven't been in a stall since. Ive been losing about a pound a day, and i'm fine with that. Also weight training helps too. As far as protein goes, I only take it in after my work outs.. When I eat i'll try to reach for protein rich foods, but I know i'm not getting in the recommended amount... and I haven't lost all my hair yet- lets hope it stays this way, lol!!
  7. I have a question for all the girls out there... after you were sleeved, were your periods normal? I'm 6 weeks out , and I had a normal period 2 weeks out from surgery, and I am usually pretty regular thanks to birth control pills, but I stopped those back in August (because of surgery) I was supposed to start 4 days ago, and nothing... sooo as you can assume i'm nervous. I am supposed to start a new birth control method (nuva-ring). I am getting the symptoms, back pain, cramps.. but nothing...
  8. Started working out, and the weight is flying off!! So amazing!!

    Hiccups ..why?

I'll be 2 weeks out tomorrow, and I do notice I get the hiccups alot easier.. I'm not sure why though. I also notice I burp ALOT, after eating or drinking. I think maybe it's because there isn't alot of room for air in our tiny stomachs? I dunno... it is kind of annoying though, I feel like I burp all the time lol!!
  10. I've cheated It seems like I can get anything I want down.. I got a piece of chicken stuck, it wasn't fun, but my surgeon recomended papaya tablets incase anything gets stuck and boy let me tell you they do work!!! Anyway don't be like me and cheat if you do make sure it's something healthy!! and chew a thousand times lol!!
  11. I have about 120ish here to lose! Just had surgery last Monday, so i'm not that far in my journey yet Those of you who did have 100+ lbs to lose and are farther along in your journey, what kinds of exercise routine did you follow? I don't have time to exercise 2 hrs a day , but I would like to get this weight off!!
  12. Needs to get this diet back on track!!!

  13. I'll be 1 week post op tomorrow (Monday) I only have 3 incisions, 2 high up on my belly, and one huge one through my belly button. Most of my pain is because of my main incision. Coughing is alot easier now, as with moving around. I get super hungry in the morning, but I have breakfast and i'm usually good the rest of the day.

  14. No walking yet, I need to get to the gym but my boyfriend and I are in the process of moving, and with my surgery on top of that, its been a crazy mess. I haven't started my protein back up either. I've been so bad, eating things I should be.. like fried rice, and chicken!!!ugh I need to refocus!

    In Pain!

I had my surgery this Monday, the 15th. I was discharged Wednesday morning... those first few days were rough.. I too enjoyed sleep, but was afraid to get up because of the pain. It's like everytime I stand up gravity takes hold of my "fatness" aka big belly lol!! and pulls on my incision... can we say ouch. lol They had me on liquid vicodin, but it was too much, so I am now on pills. They are a good size, but I just break them in half and they go down pretty easily. Today wasn't so bad, i've been having a sharp pain from my main incision, so I am hoping it's not infected
  16. Thank you all! It does get a bit easier everyday, so I am just trying to get to that point!! I am doing okay, it's just hard to get used to new "hunger" feeling, or "full" feeling lol, and not to mention my incision still hurts badly.

  17. 4 days post-op... this isn't as easy as I thought.

  18. I'm so glad i'm not the only one who feels that way. I had surgery on Monday, so I am 4 days post-op. The worse part was the hospital stay.. I was in there 2 days and hated every minute of it.. I couldn't sleep through the night because I would sleep all day... It was horrible, and to mention I had this yucko feeling in my mouth because I was so dehyrated and I couldn't have water.. My incision and stomach soreness are the biggest problems for me right now... and just like you I am worried i'll only be able to eat teaspoons for the rest of my life.. I never know when I am full, and i'm afraid to "stuff" myself because I don't want to vomit, but I still feel hungry...!! I am hoping this will soon pass.. My surgeon did say in 6 months it'll be as if I never had surgery... ugh we'll see. This isn't fun nor easy, that's for sure.
  19. Hello!! Congrats on your surgery!!! I'm having surgery the day before you, on the 15th!!! I'm soo nervous!!

    1 in 200 die ?

My Surgeon has performed over 400 WL surgeries with 2 deaths which were a result of heartattacks, and has had 1 leak. I am having my surgery this up coming Monday, and I am getting nervous... but with statistics like those, I'm certain, or at least hopeful everything should go fine. As long as you have a good surgeon, you'll be fine!
  21. Just made sour cream enchiladas... and I couldn't have not one bite :(

  22. I got my approval in less than a week from Aetna, and yes it was scary lol! I received a call from the hospital a few days ago saying my co-pay was only $250!!! Here I was expecting 10% or at least $2,000!!! Needless to say I love Aetna lol!!!!
  23. I am feeling the same way! I am so nervous it's not even funny.. But honestly it hasn't really hit me yet.... I kept saying, "Oh when I get approved by my ins., it'll hit me then.." nope, then I said, "Well when I start my 2 week diet.." lol Nope! I am now thinking it'll hit me when they are wheeling me into surgery.. but I just talked to a co-worker who is almost a yr out of gastric-by pass and she says it still hasn't hit her yet.. lol!! Good luck to you!!
  24. I've struggled with the topic of keeping it a secret. At first only my mom and boyfriend knew I was considering surgery. A co-worker of mine had gastric by-pass, and when she returned to work (after a 3 month leave) of course we all wondered what had happened. She of course didn't have to tell us anything more than she had surgery, but she was very open about it, and I ended up actually going to her same doctor. So as you can see I am so thankful she was open about it because I wouldn't be where I am today, 1 week away from surgery! I kept pretty mum about it at work, but as soon as I got my insurance approval, I pretty much made the decision to tell anyone that asked about it. It was a hard decision, but I figured I am doing this for me and my health, and no one else, and maybe I can help someone along the way.. but I did decide I will not openly tell people... only if they ask. I know news spreads like wildfire, so it'll get out anyway lol!! As far as telling your children that is a tender subject as far as your ex-husband goes. Personally if I was in your situation I wouldn't tell them- unless something serious happened Healthwise.. Anyway I hope all goes well with your situation!
