  1. Thank you both for writing to me. It does make me feel better to hear that others are the same or that it does take long time to get to that sweet spot. Sometimes I feel like I never even had the surgery. I think my band holds 14cc so I still have a ways. Thanks again
  2. My surgery was 9/9/09 and I ahve had 3 fills (I think I am up to 5cc) and I have no restriction at all! i have lost weight but but it is very slow. It is getting frustrated because I feel like I can as much as I want. I am trying to watch what I eat & how much but I need that feeling of fullness. How many fills before I feel full? Has this happened to others? can you pretty much eat anything?
  3. I am 5 days post op and my port pain seems to be getting a little worse today. I noticed it is somewaht swollen and sticks out a bit. Is anyone else's swollen? I might call tomorrow if it gets worse. I think I will try a tummy support too.
  4. I am only 5 days out of surgery and yesturday I laughed so hard (belly laughing) and I was in terrible pain after that. Today my port site hurts and is a bit swollen. Could I have the port? and is it noraml to have pain and be a bit swollen there?
  5. All in all I am doing pretty good. My surgery was 9/9 I have a lot of pain at my port. Is this normal? I can walk but only for a little while because it is so sore. I feel ok but when should the pain & soreness go away? I am not hungry but I am craving different tastes & chewing. My doctor wants me to be on liquids for 2 weeks. Does anyone have any good tips for liquids? I am doing Carnation essentials sugar free which is really good, Isopure, Jello & sugar free pops and broth. Is there any other good shakes or liquids people have had? I have not had too much gas pain but a lot of burping but I have not gone had a bowel moement at all. Is this OK? Should I be having one and what can I take to help it? Also, at night I have some trouble breathing (but I dont think it is a lung problem)and sleeping is difficult. I have to be propped up on 8 pillows!
  6. Thanks everyone for all your messages! Well, I am now banded and doing pretty good. This is my 4th day of just liquids and I am starting to go a little crazy with wanting new tastes. What did everyone drink on their liquid diets? any tips? I have a lot of pain at the port and trying to take short walks. I laughed like crazy today and thought I was going to die over in pain in my stomach. Can I actually hurt the band from laughing? My last question would be a bathroom problem. I have not gone(2) at all and I dont feel constipated and was wondering if I should be going or not (being on liquids only) and if I should be going then what can I take? Thanks again for all your support!
  7. Ok, I am totally freaking out! My surgery is this wednesday. I am so scared of the actual surgery and of waking up and the not knowing how I am going to feel. The more I read on here the scarier it is. So many people have so many issues. I am scared of the gas pain, being nauseous, having complications and being in pain. I am scared of what the next few weeks will be and how I am going to handle it mentally. I am excited at the same time and just praying that this tool will be my answer and that I am not making a mistake or opening a can of worms to a life with more problems. I have lost 30 pounds since June and I want this change. I am so nervous and I know I will be crying all the way to the hospital and all the way into surgery because I cry so easily when I am scared. wish me luck and tell me I am doing the right thing....
  8. I lost 25 pounds before I started my preop diet and now I have NOT lost any more weight. Has this happened to anyone? I will be banded on wednesday.
  9. Thanks, I will call on Monday. I am going to try some quinine and see if that helps. I read it could be from lack of carbs/sugar or caffeine. I noticed that you had surgery and did not get banded because of yoru liver. Did you loose weight before hand? Did you have a pre-op diet? I have lost 30 pounds on my own since June and now I am on my pre op diet, do you think that could happen to me?
  10. I am 4 days into my pre-op diet and have a throbbing pain in the back of my thigh, like a pulled muscle feeling. Does anyone know why this is? I know I am not drinking enough, could that be? I also have at least 1-2 headaches each day.
  11. I am so nervous about getting the lap band. I just had my 1st appointment with the surgeon and he wants me to loose about 15 pounds or more before he decides when my surgery date will be. I have been over weight my whole life and I really don't see another way but to do this. I know once I start loosing weight I will get more excited but right now I guess I am unsure. How many of you feel like you made the right decison? Does anyone regret doing it?
