  1. Its been 2 yrs for me too and i have lost about the same amount . I figure I should have lost more but have not been very good on my dieting . I say everyday i will do better but not yet. still trying and still exercising. . congatulations on your weight loss

It has been two years since my surgery. I have lost 64 lbs. so far and have 25 yet to go. I thanks God for keeping me in good health. I hope all of the mayo 2009 bandsters are doing well.

  2. Hi there.

It's been a while since I've been on this site. My surgery was in early February of 2010. My weight at that time was 227 pounds, and I am 5'9". I paid for my own surgery.

One year and a month later, I have passed my initial goal weight of 155 pounds and now weigh 139 pounds. I wear a US size 6. I haven't weighed this little since I was in high school and people can't get over how amazing I look.

I wanted to share my story because I remember reading others' success stories right before and after I had my own surgery. Those stories inspired me to keep going when I was scared or when things were tough. People, hang in there - you can do this - and trust me, it will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself!

    Lots of love,

    Ann

  3. I'm sure you are okay. My doctor tells me if you think something is stuck drink a pepsi something carbonated just a drink or 2. He says it will wash just about anything down. I haven't had any problems and glad but i need a fill really bad and i have transfered to another doctor don't see him till sept 28 . hopefully i will get one then cause i feel like i can eat as much as i did before my surgery but i try and watch what i eat. but if i had stretched back out maybe they can go back in and move the band some and do all over . but i think every thing is okay or i tell my self that. My weight loss is slow but my husband tells me i have been lifting weights and walking for about 6 weeks know and doing my wii and he can tell I am starting to shape up and get my figur back and really looking better but the scales are not going down just up a few pounds but i try every day. and going to try harder. so i hope you get yours figured out and things are okay.

  4. We all have the full problem but hopefully i will get my second fill on next friday. I am scared i have already stretched mine out but have to wait and see next year , they say they x-ray it only once a year to see if it has moved. I have been more hungrier lately than usual but that was due to not getting my second fill last month on count of the doctor said i didn't need it but hopefully i will get my this month cause i have put on some weight but i am working on getting it off as usual. oh well better luck later on

  5. Yes I understand how you feel, I weigh my options all the time but i look back and see the other wls and I know i chose the right one for me. You just have to put your mind to it and go with it. and work it as good as you can. I get frustrated a lot about the slow process but where would you be with out your band. keep going and doing a good job. stay with the program and keep on moving.

  6. I do believe you can eat every 2 hrs on your liquid diet or full liquid diet . they want you too cause your not getting that much. I did good with mine until i hit the real food. and I feel like i eat too much and my family tells me the same thing and i measure it out and i can have a cup to a cup and half at a meal . I'm at a cup a meal and I eat 3 meals and usually a snack in the evening but i feel like i'm overeating. I only loose about a pound a week but the doctor said thats right on schedule. But i get discourage about things so slow. but i look back and say where would i be with out the surgery.

  7. I really don't know if i will get my second fill. thought every month according to my book they gave me i should get a fill but my doctor said last month if i feel full then he wouldn't feel me so i don't know what to tell him this month cause i have been out of whack since last month , it like thru me for a loop. but i am suppose to go back to the doctor on the 28 th and don't know if he will do a fillor not i will need to gadge it closer and see what happens in the next 2 weeks and see if i need a fill.

  8. Hi Lisa, yes we all get misserable on this weight loss program and I thought it would come off faster than a pound a week. But my doctor says thats about the right amount of weight they want us to loose. He said it gives us time to stay more firmer and not be so saggy. So don't give up , ask your self where would you be if you had not had the surgery done and you could have been 50 lbs heavier , know thats not so good. Hang in there and give it all you got.

  9. Hello, hang in there, yes i took a shower on the second day just have to be careful. My doctor put me on prilosec for my gas and acid. so i think you should be okay but you will have gas for about 1 to 2 weeks and some times it builds up and you can't get it out but adventually it will pass. It took me my total of 10 days before i felt like i was normal. so just go day by day and don't over do it. I don't think you are suppose to really walk for about a week except around your house. but as you move around the gas will pass. hope it gets better for you.

  10. Hello, I'm a mayo Bandster and I have lost a total of 20lbs and my doctor wouldn't give me my second fill cause he said i am ahead of schedule , but i think the real reason is he had emergency surgery that morning and my appointment was for 9;30 am and I didn't get in till 12:30pm I just figure all he could push out the door the better but as long as i do okay with out my second fill then it will be okay. I said before i went back don't know if i really wanted him to do my fill that morning anyways cause he had been up all night and slept a few hours in his car they said. but i'm doing okay and the best i can.

  11. I know what you mean , my husband does me the same way but look they are just trying to help you and if you look at it that way then things are different , it shows they love you and just want to help you even though it feels like they are just getting on your nerves and bothers you but its the love they are showing to help keep you in line.

  12. Hi, don't know how to answer your question but loosing weight is hard for all of us you have to keep dieting and watching what you eat no matter what surgery you have, i have had band surgery 2months ago, lost 20 pounds to date. Its a slow process but i'm at a weight i haven't been to for about 3 yrs. so i look at things like that its different so its more than i would have lost on my own but this surgery is like another diet you have to work at it and if you over eat then you gain weight. The band does keep you feeling full longer and i believe the sleeve is about the same but not sure about the rny. but no matter what you have then , you have to work hard at each and every one. so stay with what you have and work at it.
