Exercise and Band Restriction
I have noticed that if do not exercise on a regular basis, five to six times a week, I can not eat. The food will not pass through my esophagus. When I have been working out on a regular basis I can eat anything and pretty much any amount. Does this happen to anyone else? I can not tell if I have actual restriction because it changes so much with my work out schedule. Should I feel restriction in my throat? When I first got the band, before the swelling went down, I felt it in my chest.

Sugar Question ??
Spartan this is the only post of yours I've read and I can tell your a major douche!! Maybe you should re-read the OP's comment and then read yours. It in no way addressed what she was asking for. Whether something is true or not has absolutely nothing to do with whether it is berating. You were berating her.

What do you do when you want to binge?
I got my band on Dec 1st and didn't get filled until yesterday Feb 12th because I was scared I wouldn't be able to eat when I felt that burning urge to binge. Unfortunately all I want to do now is binge. I know bingeing is something that I will have to stop doing but I just can't think of anything else. Working out has not helped and all I am doing is crying. How do you deal with unwanted emotions and how do you stop yourself from bingeing?

Pantyhose or no Pantyhose
Wearing black pantyhouse with a dress is actually in style now. Some girls also wear the sheer beyonce/lady gaga pantyhouse. I do wear the black ones. At target they have some with patterns so they don't like so old fashioned.

PB, Slime but no restriction...I'm confused.
I'm so glad I saw this. This has been happening to me and I couldn't figure out why. I guess I need to eat slower. Do you know why the food gets trapped in your esophagus? It starts sometimes before I could possibly have any food in my stomach. I don't have a fill yet and haven't been pb'ing so I just assumed It wasn't from restriction.

For the Self-Payers: Where'd you get the money?!
I also have a carecredit card but I couldn't use it because my procedure was done outside of the country. Care credit is pretty good because if you Dr. allows you can finance for a period at 0%. I used a cosmeti-credit card. The information was provided to me through my Dr. I decided to have my procedure in Mexico because of the cost. Lots of people are not comfortable with that but it is an option and there are some reputable surgeons. If financing such a large sum is an issue you might want to look at Dr. Kirshenbaum (sp) in Colarado I believe he does the procedure for $9,950.

5 weeks since surgery -- feeling depressed :(
I recently started on solids and have noticed I gained a couple pounds. I attributed this to the fact that the actual weight of the solid foods I eat is more than the liquids. That may be part of the cause?

December Bandsters 2009
I got pretty bored so I was glad I had my cellphone. I was able to surf the web and chat with friends over AIM. I would recommend bringing the computer. I was in and out of sleep so I wouldn't have been able to watch a whole movie.

Hmm, where do I start? (sorry so long)
I definitely wasn't trying to bash you. Sorry you felt that way. I haven't dealt with depression before but maybe the band isn't the issue. It seems like it did work for you at one point in time. And I've read around here that you can learn to eat around almost every procedure. Was there anything different/better in your life when you were losing weight? The situation with your boss definitely sucks. Could you go to HR?

Hmm, where do I start? (sorry so long)
I'm a CPA too but I do audits. I'm going to have the same problem coming up this January. Plus I will be traveling quite a bit with my new job. My addiction is TV I watch 5-8 hrs a day. I know I will need to cut some of my TV hrs to get everything I need to done. Will it be a sacrifice? Yes!! but it will be the right decision. Why did your doc say you needed a revision? Did your band slip is it leaking?

I was starting to wonder if anyone else could feel their port moving. When I bend over or lay on my side I can feel it kinda pulling on my muscle.

Too fat to graduate
I didn't read the article but this is a form of discrimination. Just because something is good for someone does not make it less discriminatory. It would be good if we could put racists and bigots in intolerance classes but we don't. If a school is going to have intolerance classes everyone must attend. And if the school is actually worried about health everyone would take the class I know i slew of unhealthy people with a BMI under 30.

Twenties NSVs
I'm excited to finally be able to post in here. I've been following since i joined. I will be getting my surgery this Tuesday. My NSV is finally being able to believe I can lose this weight and actually be thin. I've been overweight since I was 7 and in the past I've allowed myself to believe maybe i can just be obese instead of morbidly obese or even just overweight but never did I allow myself to believe I could be thin for fear of failure. I'm so excited to begin this journey and congrats to all of you for your progress I can't wait to be where you are.

Heating Pads
Hi ALL, I have heard a lot about purchasing heating pads for the procedure. What type of pads did you purchase and what did you use them for? Your Stomach, Shoulder, Back?

Will & Will-Nots for Pre & Post-Bandsters
This is a great list. I especially agree with the part about being kind to those who are overweight. I think about this all the time. I don't ever want to be the formerly obese person who now hates overweight people.

Want to Start Running.. what weight did you start?
Congrats on your weight loss. You've done a great job. Hope you get some replies because I'm wondering the same thing now. Can you tell me what has helped you the most in getting the weight off?
