Hey! Just saw a post of yours on the twenties board. We seem to be around the same weight and have the same goals! I just had my surg 3 days ago. My highest was also 285. My current is 267.5 and my goal is 145. You seem to be doing so great!!!! Check out my page and my website. www.freewebs.com/lizandrk/ Xoxo, Liz

hEY! Good luck w/ orientation. I'm doing ok but you haven't heard much b/c I am not losing weight. I've been at the same "lbs" since 2 wks ago but I am losing inches, all over. Down like 41 inches total and my work outs have gone from 20 minutes to 90 minutes at a time. I try to do 3-4x a week, so the pounds thing is annoying. Bladder issues right now on my personal site, just working through it daily!!!

Hey everybody! I'm back!!! I haven't been on in FOREVER! But I'm going to try to keep up with this site again for awhile! Hope everyone is doing well!

omg I just read your update above and you just got banded a week ago? Awesome! How are you doing?
-
How have you been? I haven't been on here in awhile. Were you banded in June like me?
-
Well I had to go into today for all my last pre-op tests and laps and I'd lost another 2 lbs. Still would like to lose about 10 before surgery. Good luck doing well on your vacation. Yeah so far my parents, sister, bff, and 2 co-workers know. I've read on boards ppl say it sucks for co-workers to know b/c you feel like they are watching and judging you. I hadn't thought about that, but i definetley am not telling anymore until I feel more comfortable about it. I need to do my measurements like you have.

Well goodluck. I would imagine the first week would be the most struggle. My Monday after will be when I get to start solid food. I hope everything is going well for you!!!
-
thanks! Has anyone told you how much you could or should be losing monthly??? No-one said anything at all my appts.

I do have a "plan" for exercise. However b/c I was in sports as a teen I think my goals are too aggressive. At the hosp my exercise specialist said set super small goals that seem laughable. Then when accomplished you can still be just as proud of yourself. So I do have a YMCa membership, a great neighborhood to walk in, and a park to play soccer in w/ my kids. So I figure those are the things I will start with. After I lose 40-50 lbs I want to take up a yoga class.

Hey! We should keep up w/ each other, it seems like our stats are farmiliar. And I checked out your blog, you said when people find out your weight they are always surprised. I get that reaction alot myself, thank god, right! I'd like to see pics of how you're doing. Are you doing full body shots of the progress for your personal records? Check out my site, I'm doing tons of pics! www.freewebs.com/lizandrk/

Well that is lucky that he's your man! I work right there so maybe I can do that sometime when I'm ready to up my workout. I'm setting a high goal to run a 5K in august so maybe I could come in and he could show me what to do to make that possible!!! I thought Awatukee was west valley??

You know, that is not a bad thing though. This is giving you time to prepare for the rest of your life, literally. get your ducks in a row first. I researched for a year and a half before I decided I wanted. After decideing it took me 8 mths to get MY crap together. My insurance was FAST! Just give yourself the time you need to slowly cut stuff out like smoking, soda, bad friends, etc. B/c if you wait until after you will want to have a nervous breakdown not being able to turn to food! The 4 mths pre-op for me I quit smoking, all soda, energy drinks, got rid of 1 friend, and set shit straight with my older sister. It has helped a ton!

Giiiiiiirl I'm doing fabulous! I love my band! This whole process has been up and down and up and stall and up and down! It's been a mental and emotional roller coaster figuring out my issues and working through them. But where I'm at today is, down to 238 lbs and already a size 18, that was a shock to me! At this pace I could be a 200 lb size 14 chick! That'd be pretty awesome!
That is awesome you recovered so fast. Day 2 for me I was off the pain meds and day 3 I was back to takin' care of my 2 boys by myself. I'm excited to keep up w/ your progress.

See I could only imagine the pain to be comparable to my c-section w/ my second kid. did you have a c-section w/ yours? It was painful. Not able to stand straight up for awhile. I think about a wk and a half out I was feelin' a lot more normal. I will eventually get one when I'm sure I'm done having kids b/c my kids and weight gain destroyed my lower stomach. So far though I am still holding out hope it MIGHT bounce back! haha!

I'm doing good as well. Glad to be at this point and thankful for my band! Have you not added post op pictures? I haven't gotten on the June Journey's board recently, how much have you lost?
