  2. Hi, Im just curious if anyone was banded in Boston MA and if so which facility and sugeon. I go for my consult 7/15 at Tufts Nemc the weight and wellness center. If anyone went through them please tell me about your experience. I also had heard great things about lahey clinic but would love some input even if you didnt go to either hospital.
  3. I have bcbs of Ma and they require pre authorization for wls and after that I have a $500 deductable I have to pay but the rest is covered. My program fee is $250...
  4. Hi, and congrats on making that step and having the courage to do it alone. I am just starting the process and can tell you I am not planning to tell anyone unless they need to know, with a small few exceptions like my hubby and best friend, who are totally supportive. If you do choose to tell people choose the people who will support you and honor your trust by not blabbing it out. I also like MissK's qoute which Im going to copy and put on my fridge for inspiration: I have spent 27 years of my life feeling inadequate and apologising for the way that I am. I will not apologise for making the decision to have this surgery nor will I apologise for the results I obtain. Any results I do get will be from hard work, dedication and personal sacrifice, they will be well deserved. This is a huge decision which will require a lot of changes to my lifestyle, it is going to be a hard road at times so I only wish to be surrounded by positive people who will support my decision and be proud of me for my successes. Anyone who does not fit into that category, who will not support me, is someone who I no longer want to play a major role in my life. It's them who makes this choice through their own actions, not me.

    Starting bmi?

Thanks for all of your input I feel reasured that my insurance will hopefully approve me without necessarily having any co morbidities  Will keep my fingers crossed when all the paperwork is finally submitted.
  7. Thats Great that you got to stick it to her LOL. I am just starting the process an hope to have my surgery before the year ends. My high school reunion is in 3 yrs so to be able to see all the people who made fun of me or were just rude when I look like a million bucks is a hope of mine.

  9. Hi, :smile2:I am a single Mom who has always been "pleasantly plump" after the birth of my daughter instead of losing the pregnancy weight I added to it:blushing: I tried lots of diets and a personal trainer, Not getting much results I had reached my limit and figured like the rest of my family I would always be big. A co-worker recently had the band and has lost 40lbs in 3 and 1/2 months. I started doing research and called my insurance provider. As soon as I found out my insurance covered bariatric procedures:thumbup:, I made the necessary appointments. I have to meet with a psychologist and nutritionist, Can anybody give me some feedback on what to expect at these visits?
  10. Im so happy for you. I have actually just made my consult apt and am looking forward to that.
