When is it time to star exercising?

Erin I got banded the same day. I am up to walking 3-4x a day at 10-20 min. intervals. My surgeon told me not to use any machines until he sees me on the 20th. I can't wait to get on my new elliptical!!! Good luck!

What happens if you eat too much soup?

I am like you, Princess, am in my liquid post-op phase. Thankfully it will end on the 20th. I know that measuring everything is no fun. I do measure everything. Before measuring my liquids and solids, I couldn't have told you the physical difference between an 8oz glass of milk and a 16 oz glass of milk. I used to think my portions were relatively small until I truly measured things out. No wonder I got so big!!! I was eating double, triple, sometimes quadruple what I should have been eating for my portions. I am glad to hear someone else out there loves to measure their foods and liquids. Keep up your great work. I wish you much success!

    I need relief!

I am so glad you are feeling better. I was very worried for you. I have my 1st fill on the 20th. I will keep optimistic. :w00t: Take care of yourself.

    Quick breakfast Ideas Please

I read this post and immediately got up to make this! I used ham instead of sausage :sneaky:. I cannot wait to try it. I typically like breakfast for dinner. I am going to freeze them for when I can eat mushies. I just had surgery last Friday. I feel fantastic. Receipe ideas like this one make me very excited that I got banded. I get to learn to eat and cook in a whole new way. Thank you so much for your inspirational receipe.
  8. I had severe headaches, diarrhea, and stomach pain for 4-6 days. I was getting plenty of water. But I wasn't getting my 2000 calories a day of sugar intake  My body totally retaliated. I am having surgery the same day you are 7/31. Good luck to you!

    Progress but Hungry...

I am also doing the Bariatric Advantage with a mix of Strawberries and Blueberries. The blueberries, I have found, cuts the thickness of the shake mix better than the strawberries. Together, the fruit is very good with the shakes. I figured it is the only way I can stomach the shakes.

Liquid diet, how do you do it?

Hi Free, I am glad I am not the only one who is excited by my chewable vitamin!!!! How did your surgery go?

    Progress but Hungry...

Evie, I can relate completely. I started my 3 week pre-op diet on the 6th (surgery date 7/31). I am getting horrible headaches. Anyone have an idea why? I gave up caffeine weeks ago so I could withdrawal from my flavored coffees and coke separate from my pre-op diet. I had plenty of headaches at that time. I lost 1 lb in a day! Good luck with your procedure.
  13. I have been scheduled for surgery on 7/31/09. I am still pending insurance approval. My surgeon's insurance person believes I won't have any problem getting approved so she put me on the schedule. Here is my question. He wants me to do a 3 week pre-op diet. Does it hurt to do the pre-op diet longer? My BMI is 44. Has anyone had to do 3 weeks or longer for a pre-op diet? If so, can you give me any helpful hints to last the 3 weeks? Thanks for the help!

    anyone not full off protein?

You say you run. How long did it take you to get to that point after your surgery? Were you always a runner? Or is it something you had to build up to? Any tips? I have not been banded yet. I am still going through the insurance hoops.
