    Banded just yesterday!!!

Well I'm now officially a bandster!!! Yay! I thought this day would never come! I had originally wanted to do in and out surgery meaning to go in and then come home on the same day, well.....that wasn't happening so I'm out now. I'm happy and lucky that I don't have any gas pains but I do have Port pain, that is the only part that hurts the most now. :-( I've been good and have been drinking my water and walking, just not sure what else to do? Any suggestions or is this something that will subside in due time? Thanks for any suggestions and info that can be providded.

    Low Carb diet???

Please bare with me on this. I'm brand spankin new to this and was just banded on Tuesday (YAY ME) and am looking forward to a new way of eating not being hungry ALL THE TIME but I have a question. I understand that with the band prevents you from overeating and limits certain foods correct? Is it a bad idea to attempt Atkins with the band? I am a sugar and carb-oholic and don't see where the harm would be, but if there is to be harm I will not do it. Any suggestions? I loved Atkins and was successful at losing while on it, but unfortunately couldn't keep the weight off once I stopped. I'm sure this is a common story which is why a majority of us are banded but I'm just needing some guidence. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

    Banded just yesterday!!!

Sweet thanks! They gave me liquid Vicodin, sis is on her way to pick it up for me now. I'm so happy I did this, now it's 4 weeks of a clear liquid diet but I will definitely get through this, that is for sure. I just can't believe it's finally done! It's so surreal right now.

    expectations....

This is probably unreasonable but I have to ask. I am about to be banded on Tuesday and my starting weight is 210 and am 5'3. I've been instructed to be on a CLEAR LIQUID diet following surgery for 4 long long weeks. I'll be off work for 6 weeks and am wondering if it's unreasonable to think between now and 8/23 for me to lose 30-40 lbs. Is this too aggressive considering the diet I will have to endure? Thanks for any reasonable feedback as I so badly want the weight to come off. I know I didn't gain the weight in 6 weeks and it will take much longer than 6 weeks to lose it, but I do want to see a difference by the time I go back to work. Are my expectations WAY to high? :help:
  6. I am happyt to say I will be officially banded on Tuesday so a little more than 24 hours togo. Sitting and talking with my wonderful boyfriend as we often do he asked how does one maintain their weight once they hit goal? I thought this to be a good question, and I feel kind of dumb asking this seeing as I thought I knew pretty much anything there was to the Lap Band. Can anyone answer this for me? Any and all help surrounding this would be greatful. Thanks so much! Oh I forgot, I'm new to this board so.....HELLO EVERYONE!:biggrin1:
