  7. I completely understand the nervous part- I am the same way. In my heart I know this is the right thing but still kinda scared
  8. I went for my pre anesthesia screening yesterday for sleeve surg Sept 21st. When they got to the consent it had- the sleeve surgery and a liver biopsy included. I don't have a single liver issue. When I asked for an explanation the girl said it may be for a study but they can make sure you don't have hepatis, fat liver disease, cirrosis blah blah blah. I don't have any symptoms to even think I have problems with my liver. So I didn't sign the consent. I have a meeting with my surgeon next week and will talk to him about it. I really don't want them just doing a biopsy on my liver for the fun of it. Anyone else ever had this done during surgery?
  9. I like that advice- Thanks Mac!

  14. I have a question about the post op course- I understand the rationale behind the clear liquids, full liquids and soft foods, but what I don't understand is the progression of solid foods. At first you only eat a couple of bites and then progress to maybe a lean cuisine. Isn't your stomach healed by the time you eat solids? Why the slow progression? Someone asked me and I couldn't really answer..... look forward to learning from you guys
  15. I would suggest the appeal process too. It can't hurt anything to appeal!
  16. I will add you to my prayer list. Hoping everything goes smoothly and you are back telling us all about it real soon. Take Care
  17. I also looked into WLS with the idea of getting the band. Once I started researching everything it was not a difficult decision to know the sleeve is the right way to go! Now it is the only surgery available that truely makes sense in my mind. I suggest you read all you can. Wishing you peace of mind in your decision
  18. I just fixed eggplant tonight- delicious! Peel and slice about 1/4 inch. Brush a little olive oil and garlic on both sides. Bake for 15 min at 425 turn and bake an additional 5 min. Dry on paper towels. place 1/2 in greased baking dish. Cover with parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Top with a fresh tomato slice. more parmesan and basil and a little mozzerala cheese. Another layer of eggplant and a little mozzerala. Cover and bake for 20 min in 350 oven then uncover and cook additional 5 min..... delicious!

  24. I have never really been a fan of yogurt before but I love the Greek yogurt! Another brand to look for is "Fage". I live in NC and most of the grocery stores are now caring the greek yogurt. The web site for the product is www.fageusa.com and the phone number is 866-962-5912. I will get the information for Okios and post it later. Just call the company and ask them who sells it near you. The Fage yogurt has 10 gm protein
