You look FABULOUS!!! Congratulations on the amazing job you have done over the past year!!

I made it today with fresh and it's great! You mentioned putting it on refried beans- what is everyone else putting it on?
-
This sounds really good- thanks for posting

I mix up my Protein Shake in the morning and put it in the freezer while I shower and get ready for work- about an hour. The shake is good and cold with small ice crystals. I have an hour drive into work so my shake stays cold the whole time!

I am a 34- good luck with your journey!

I have lost 75 lbs and can tell it with the clothes I am wearing. But when I see pictures of myself- I think oh goodness you have such a long way to go!! How come everyone else notices it but when I look in the mirror I still see the fat image of myself?

Ok I will try this- let me start off with 18 points this week. My triathlon is getting closer!
-
Thanks Mac. One other question - this will be my first tri and I need to buy a bike. What do you suggest?

I am training for my first triathlon- any advice?

I agree with you- we all have issues, just some are more vocal than others.

Glad the surgery went well. Wishing you a smooth recovery

I am doing the "Ramblin' Rose" triathlon. I think it is only in NC but not positive about that.
-
I only ran once this past week, my knee was bothering me and I wanted to baby it. I will start back today

So there is hope for me! Running for 3 min is great! Before being sleeved walking for long distance was hard exercise and now we are starting to run----- Excellent!
-
Great job! I honestly was surprised I could start the running thing too! Keep it up ~ we will all support each other! I am thinking of getting a stop watch to help me time myself when walking/running outside. It just needs to have big numbers for my over 40 eyes!!!!
-
I usually jog about 4.2-4.5 and also hope to get faster!
-
Fantastic! That is awesome! You should be so proud of yourself!
-
I would rather be slow and steady in my progression than over do and backslide.

I saw my trainer on Friday. Here was her advice-
walk for 2 min run for 1 min total time 30 min for two weeks then increase the run by 15-30 sec and decrease the walk by the same time. Increase run segment every 2 weeks

How do you progress- weekly? If you walk for 3 min and run for 1 min what is the next step?
-
I was only able to walk for the first 6 weeks.

Wow very impressive goal schedule! I am impressed!

Just to give you an update on this Triathlon training. I joined a local group called "Tri it for Life" that helps mentor you for the event. The training with them hasn't started yet. It's funny the mentors say "we have plenty of time to train" and my mind thinks I will NEED plenty of time. I have started lifting weights 3 times a week- this will help my body overall and especially my endurance. And last week I started the combination of walking/running on the treadmill. Mainly walking right now but at least I am running some. Right now walking 2 min and running 1- towards the end of the 30 min those minutes are
v e r y long! But I haven't quit and going back in a few minutes. Have a great day all!

Well the mentor training for the triathlon has officially started- I have 12 weeks till the triathlon. I am swimming for an hour 3-4 times a week, doing the run/walk combination 2-3 times a week, bike 1-2 times a week and then trying to find time for weights at least 2 times a week. It is definitely keeping me busy!! I did sign up for this swim program one day a week with work. Although it's intense it has been rewarding. This week that crazy instructor had us swim 450 yards just as a warm-up!!! I did everything and I got a great feeling of accomplishment after the class.
I was selective on who I told about WLS. Everyone else just thinks that all my training is the reason I am loosing weight. And for me that works!!
Someone from work came up to me yesterday and asked if I wanted to do a 5K run in October. A 5K is only a little over 3 miles and that sounds very do-able. Last year at this time I was doing good to go up stairs without huffing and puffing and this year I am being asked to join a group doing a 5K-- what a difference!!
