Mary,,,,I'll tell ya, my guts were in TERMOIL!! It is an emotional rollercoaster....But lighten up on yourself,,,take a deep breath and know you are not the firs to do this,,I was in pre-op ready to go, IV's were in, surgery was to be at 1pm,,,,and I never got in until 225pm,,I almost walked,,,more than once. All will be well,,,you'll get through this, WE are all here for ya....

Hi all,,,I was banded March 9th,,I had gas pains but not up into the shoulders,,my scars are healing extremly well...Not as much pains as I had excpected in my abs area,,but a bit more than I would have liked. I have been having a tough time sticking to the liquids like I should,,,but hanging tough,,,,I'm looking forward to the stage 2,,,where I can have the soups,,,or mashed potato's,,,,,,

I'm doing great, feeling awsome, I started at 380 lbs, and weighed in at 356 lbs this morning! I won't be going back to work for maybe another 5 weeks, due to lifting restrictions at my job, the gear I wear ,and carry 12 hrs a day weighs itself almost 60lbs,,,so that is whats slowing me down there,,,,no such thing as light duty in my line of work,,so I just wait it out. I had a check up with my personal care phys. today,,lol, I think he is much more excited about me being banded than I am! He has gotten a new program for his laptop (he uses this for everyone now instead of files!!!) That will graph,and track my weight loss,,of course 2 yrs ago he needed to get a new scale so I could be weighed,,,emberassingly enough, it didn't go high enough:( ,, he was soooo interested in my scars,,and was looking for my port,,it was really funny,,,almost like a kid with a new toy!! Apearently he has never had a banded patient before,,I would guess:D . My best hopes and wishes to everyone,,just starting your journey,,and the veterans well into theirs!

Hi Mary I was banded on March 9th, I feel wonderful! Little bits of pain getting up off a chair, couch or out of bed,,,but thats me. You will do wonderfuly, just "go with it" Do as the Dr.s and Nurses instruct, and it'll be a breeze!

Oh but they are fun,,,,the kids I mean this time,,,they are keeping me in water and ice, but that may have something to o wwith the new fridge, that has the water and ice despenser on the outside. LOL,,,but they are trying,,,,

lol,, my son told me today that it sounded likea big truck going by!!

Oh yes I found it:faint: I had the pains early this AM,,not so much gas pains for me now,,,eh,,,but everyone else is "suffering" my gas now, mostly my wife,,but, uh,, my 3 and 4 yr olds find it quite funny..:omg:

Congratulations on the surgery dates folks! And thank you all for all the support. I feel fantastic! I don't know why, not at all what I expected, maybe he didn't "inflate me with the gas?" Nothing is as bad as I had thought. Although the surgery took a bit longer than he had expected, due to thick ab fat. I am so happy!!! My Dear Wifw has been a dream through all this,,but alas, her driving could have been betterlast night,,lol,,or maaaayyyyybe it was just the roads:D ,, a bit bumpy and all. Well back to bed, it is only 3AM,,,I got up for meds, and a "clot walk",,,,, Hugs ,,,

Thanks Deb, and everyone else... my focus right ow is those pesky 10 lbs between now and fri. morning, that will/is taking care of thinking about the actual proceedure,,,,uhg,,,the knife, the needle, the pain of it all,,and the gas pains .... I read it all, and wonder, WTF am I doing??? But alas, my wife, my children, and the rest of my family...... I know, deep down I know, I love them all, deeply,,, and sincerely. I know that it is a shrt time of pain, considering the alternitive, I sometimes feel like Lady Justice standing ther with her scales,,,,,,,back and forth, back and forth, i weighs.... sorry just rambling,,,venting..... You are all very wonderful people, I wish you the very best. Private shout: See you soon Bandida!!! We'll hook up for a meeting....

The "AIN"T BEEN WORKIN' " thing ,,,,, I meant workin' to keep my mind off from thinkin' of the surgery,,,,hehehehe,,,,sorry.....

Thats funny, today is my last day of work, I work 4 on and have 4 off, my surgery date would actualy be my 1st day back to work next week,, so there won't be much of work to dull the thinkin' much,,Doc wants me to lose 10 lbs for surgery, that ia about it for a pre op-diet....As for the cryin,,, well we ale know men don't do that (when anyone is watching). And I have not found a robe that fit me in 15 years!!!!! LOL,,,if they don't like the moon.........hehehe........well I'll just leave em with an impression!!!:omg: :heh: ,,,
