Hi there! I saw your pics on how you've progressed after your surgery and I must say, I am very motivated by it! My surgery date is on 6/10 (in 2 weeks!) and am very nervous about it. How was the recovery for you during the 1st month? Was it really difficult? Anyway, I wanted to say congrats!

Another question for you. I just read a thread on "not feeling any restriction" and how it takes a few fills until you feel restriction. Did you/are you going through that? Are you feeling any restriction? I'm worried that I will over eat after my band is in if I won't even feel the restriction until months later. This is discouraging.

Hi and thanks! Surgery went really well. I'm in my first week of the liquid diet post-op and to be honest, I am feeling slightly frustrated with it. I've had so much liquids that I'm really missing real food right now. I know it's common to feel this way but man, I am all souped out!

Have you been banded?

Hi there! From the pictures you posted, it looks like we may be about the same size. I'm 5'2" and I'm probably about 260+ lbs. I am having my surgery on 6/10 and am very excited about it! How are you feeling post-op? Would love to get your perspective on your experience with getting surgery.

Hi there! I just saw your pictures and the status on how much you've lost! It's amazing! You are an inspiration I was banded on 6/17 so I'm still in the early stage of my journey.

Is it a lot easier to live healthy now as someone that has lost weight and is considered "normal" size or is it just as hard as when you were overweight? Thanks!

Hi there! Thanks for message on my blog and good luck on your surgery tomorrow! Day one of pre-op liquids is done for me and I survived! Now, day two... Ugh!

Anyway, I look forward to speaking with you post-op to find out how your progress is going. Especially since we're getting banded on the same date! It looks like we're the same age too!

Hi, thanks for the message. I'm not sure what you mean by what type of exercises I do. Do you mean actual physical exercises?

i thought you get 4 incisions or something close to that? how did you get away with just 1?

do you have to be fully naked during surgery or do they allow some clothing? I've never had surgery before =)

I'm actually getting the procedure done in Oxnard. My doctor is Dr. Billy and his practice is there and has an office in Thousand Oaks. I work in TO, so I may just go to a support group there. Just thought I'd try to find something near home.

So, what type of hurldes have you had to go through after getting banded? What types of foods do you eat now? I'm curious what type of diet people really keep after their stomachs have healed.

Yeah, I can't believe my surgery date is finally here. It really feels real now. Strange. I've been in the process since December and every month I felt discouraged since it seems like it was taking so damn long! Haha! Thank goodness it's next week!

i was nervous before my surgery but never had any doubt to go through with it. i was just very anxious to finally get it over with.

Thanks for writing back! I definitely expected pain and discomfort after the surgery. I'm glad I can talk to people on here to find out what I should really prepare myself for as far as the pain goes. What is it like for you with having just liquids after? Did you feel hungry? Did you get a headache? Was it hell? When I don't eat when I'm hungry, I get a massive headache, that's what I'm fearing right now. I think I can take my surgery wounds, but my headaches, I am not sure about. What type of pain medication do they put you on? Anyway, I think that's all of my questions for the day (LOL!), I'm sure I'll come up with more.

Hi there - I just saw your post about starting orientation at Kaiser. I was wondering if you would be open to seeing another doctor? The doctor I went through is Dr Helmuth Billy and he is wonderful! His practice is primarily in Oxnard, CA but he has an office in Thousand Oaks also. Anyway, I just found him and his entire team so helpful, very friendly and supportive. Good luck!

Hi there - I wanted to let you know that I think you're an inspiration, specially to me. It looks like you and I are very similar with our build - I am 5'2" and starting weight was 258 lbs. I was just banded on 6/17 and am looking forward to finding the healthy version of me! You look great in your pictures and what a wonderful job being a successful bandster.
