    before And after

    Awesome job. You look amazing!
  3. For those who still take the PPI what kind of symptoms do you have when you stop taking it? My 3 year anniversary will be August 13 so my goal is to drop 10 pounds. I've been reading on here again here and there and it's been an encouragement. Makes you remember what it was like in the beginning. Our family is headed to the beach in another week and it hit me that 4 years ago I would have NEVER taken a vacation at the beach. Now I'm so excited. Have an awesome day everyone!!!
  4. I only took the acid blocker right after surgery and haven't seemed to have any problems. I have however had some issues with low blodd sugar if i eat too many carbs with no protein. Anyone else having that problem? I really don't eat much processed food anymore, had a brownie the other day, my heart was racing, sweating, felt like I was going to pass out.

Question For All You At Or Near Goal?

i'm almost 3 years out. This was my experience my month. Total lost in 11 months 112.4! Start weight was 250. Then got down in the 130s and bounced around. Have gained back and weighed in at 151 this morning. Back on here trying to get back on track. 30.8 12.8 12.6 10.2 10 9 6 7 9 3 2
  6. Hi, Oregon. I haven't been on here in a long time. I'll be 3 years out in Aug. It has been a struggle for me to maintain. I depended a lot on exercise and had a few injuries in last 6 months. I've gained about 12 pounds back in the last year. Definately thankful for the sleeve but at this point it's as hard to loose weight as it was before the surgery...for me. Trying to come back on here as I have a hard time getting to a support group. i think my biggest issue is grazing all day. My job is very sedetary and stressful and i've slipped back into the mind set of using food to comfort. Ugh! The head stuff!!!
  7. I was 2 years out Aug. 13 and had reached goal, i think, about 8 months out. Maintaining is becoming a very big struggle. I sit at my job all day and all I can think about is eating. I'm 5'6 and hung around 138-142 now I've bounced up to about 146-149. It's driving me crazy!!! I weigh every day and workout 6 days a week. I know if I didn't exercise i would immediately put on 20 pounds. I have notice in the last few months I'm dragging through my workouts and I just feel tired ALL the time. Don't get me wrong, having this surgery was the best thing I ever did but I wish I felt better. I am bad about taking all my vitamins. I probably only get them in about 5 days out of the week. Could that really be making that much difference? I thought my blood sugar was dropping because I sometimes get very light headed and start sweating but I had it checked several times and it was normal. I feel like I'm crazy. Anyone else experiencing this?

    18 Months Out... Getting Tricky!

I'm so glad i ran across your post. It was as if I wrote it. My 2 year surgery anniversary will be Aug. !3. I stayed down around 138 for about a year and have now crept up to about 146-147. I eat nuts and air popped popcorn daily. And i too can't do anymore exercise than what i do now.(love kickboxing) It's got to be a matter of cutting the calories. My doctor had told me only to eat 3 times a day with NO snacking but I feel like i get very lightheaded around 10am so that's my excuse to grab some nuts. That's why I got on here tonight, trying to remeber all that I went through to lose this weight, not to mention the money. (I was self pay-$16,000!!!!) So I think I will go now and throw out all of my nuts and start fresh tomorrow. thanks for your post!

    OUCH!!! HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

I was having the leg cramps and a friend of mine suggested drinking half a Gatrorade at night before bed. Has worked great. Hope you feel better.
  11. So glad to see this thread! I haven't been on here in a long time. I'm 18 months out and have maintained about 10 months now. Some weeks are easy, other times (mostly during pms time) I'm terrified of what i can eat. I have been stressed this week and have really over eaten and came on here to try to get my head back in the game. Thank you all for your post. It's great to see others deal with similar issues! It's good to read the post of those getting ready to have the surgery as well. It reminds me of why I did this in the first place!!!

    Just need to vent

Not sure where to post this. Just wanted to vent, ramble. So yesterday was one year since my surgery and it's been wonderful. Really. I'm down 111 pounds and i don't think i've ever been in such great shape. So why do I feel so down? I only told like 3 people about my surgery so I didn't expect a parade or anything but there was like no one to really celebrate with. My family is just kind of OVER all of it and honestly the 3 friends i told I think are rather jealous and haven't mentioned my weight loss in like 6 months. I took a new job about 4 months ago with an old boss of mine. I hadn't seen her in 4 years and by the time I did see her I had lost over 100 pounds. She NEVER said a word about it. ???? So after I started we travel together so I told her I had the surgery (because of my weird eating habits now) and all she said was "oh". Not ONE other word about it!!! I'm miserable at the new job and feel stressed and overwhelmed and am now finding myself wanting to turn to food again. Just feeling very down.:frown1:

    Just need to vent

You put it so well. My weight consumed my every thought for so long, it's hard to move on. I know that sounds crazy, because it is. It has been such a huge accomplishment and I am happy about it, it just feels like no one cares. Every other major event in life people want to celebrate with you, marriage, children ect... losing 100 pounds, not so much. I am so blessed to have had this surgery and it be such a success. Just need to focus on that. I would go shopping but there's NO room left in my closet for another piece of clothing. As far as the job, it was a huge promotion and I was so excited. I've been there a little more than 4 months now and hate it. I'm very shy and it's difficult for me to make new friends. No one there really talks to me and I feel incredibly lonely. Now I'm not sure what to do. Stick it out and hope it gets better or just cut my losses and move on. Thank you both for your responses. Best wishes on your journeys!

    The Joy of running again..

I just started running about 3 or 4 months ago. I droped weight very quickly when I started. It's very addicting. I do other workouts but nothing else seems to give me that "rush",hours later I still feel the endorphines.

    One Year today

You are doing an amazing job. You had your surgery just before I did, I remeber reading your post last year. Isn't it amazing that it's been a year? Congratulations on your sucesss!!!
  17. I mix it up so I don't get board and my body can't figure out what's coming next. I do yoga, kickboxing, free weights, Jillian Michaels videos, running, a hip hop dance video and yes, sex is definately the most fun!

    Curves anyone?

I went to Curves 3 days a week for over a year and loved it. The days in between I either walked or did a workout video at home. I thought it was great, I only quit because where I work now has a free on-site gym. I usually went during lunch and there would only be one or two people there.

    Im always cold!!!!!!!!

I'm constantly freezing. It's been about 100 degrees here in Tennessee for the past 2 weeks and I go outside during my lunch hour just to sit in the heat and warm up. At work I sit there with a sweater on and a big blanket around me. I'm with you, I thought I was going to die this past winter and as of now I have a trip scheduled to Chicago in November. I'm already dreading it because of the cold.
  20. I am 10 months out and I can definately eat more now than a few months ago but I can also still be satisfied still with a small amount. I really do feel best when I eat my lean protein first, veggies and then moderate carbs IF I have room left, which I usually don't. I have had pizza, donuts, cake and some chocolate. After eating healthy for so long they really do make me feel bad. The sugar really gets my heart rate going and I get pretty dizzy. It's just not worth it.
  21. I can relate to the emotional eating. I'm 10 months post op and had been doing rather well. For the first time in my life I actually stopped talking to certain people in my life who always triggered binges. It was a very difficult thing to do but I was determined to make the sleeve work. I have recently started a new job that is very challening and my first impulse when I get in my car is to get something to eat. I do feel as if the sleeve still keeps me from being able to binge like I use to but it scared me that I still want to use food for comfort. It is a struggle at times but that's why I get on here and try to remind myself of why I did this in the first place. Hang in there and keep coming on here, it really does help.

    I can't believe this!

I'm down from a 40DD to a 34C and that just to hold all of the skin. ugh! Even when I was in high school they were bigger than this. I swore I'd never have another surgery but I'm having to rethink that.
  23. Haven't had a chance to post in a while. Just thought I'd share my progress. I'm 5'6 starting weight was 250 and am now at goal at 143. Down from a size 22 to a 6-8 (depending on the brand). This was the best decision I've ever made. For those of you thinking about the surgery, it is a wonderful TOOL. I do work out 6 days a week but now i really look forward to that. I still try to really limit carbs because they settle very well for me. I probably will still try and loose another 5 pounds or so just to give myself some wiggle room. LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!:lol0: Best wishes to all of you out there beginning your journey. It's soooo worth it!

    Fast food

I have started a new job and will be traveling about 1 week out of the month. I've only eaten out maybe 4 times in the last 9 months. Any suggestions on what to eat at fast food. I have found that McDonald's will sell you just a piece of grilled chicken for about $2.75. Any other options?
