    Well on my way

I went to the Dr yesterday and found out i've lost 17 lbs. Psych eval done now i'm waiting on pre-op testing tobe scheduled. Insurance approval will be sent in once all the results are back from the test. I'm prayering to have all this done so that i can be banded sometime in september. Doea anyone have any advice of the items i should have before surgery? I'm single and would like to start getting things i'll need. Although my son will have his permit and can maybe let him drive me to the store. lol He would love that. But really i am looking for any advice as to the things to make my pre/post surgery easier. Thanks so much Tracie
  2. I'm in the same boat as you. But i had to loose 20 lbs. The first month i lost the ten so easily. Now i'm in the second month and i can't drop the other 10 lbs. I have my final appt july 23rd and was hoping to have the 20 lbs gone. My surgery will not even be scheduled unless i have lost the 20 lbs. Good luck and i'll be praying for a miracle to loose the last few lbs so you can have your surgery. Tracie
  3. Wow i think your inside my head. i had a horrible weekend just because of the feeling you described. All my friends a re married or in commited relationships. I'm wondering what wrong with me why can't i be so lucky. i took the day yesterday to reflect on everything in my life and asked God to give me the strength i need to move forward. I'm also struggling because i have to loose 20 lbs before my surgery can even be scheduled i've lost 13 but then this weekend being in the house depressed i've gained 3 back. ugh. I have to pick myself up and know there is a light at the end of this long dark tunnel. Thanks for posting this and giving me the feeling of knowing i'm not alone.
  4. Hey girl. No i don't have a date yet. I'm set to see the dietician on this Thursday and then on July 23rd i see the dietician, my Dr and then have my Psych consult. If i have lost the 20 lbs they will get insurance approval and set a date. I'm looking into early September maybe. I have lost i think about 9 lbs thus far on my own. Praise God.

  5. Hello all, I am new to the site. I have just begun my journey to being banded. The problem i am having is i have to loose 20 lbs before i can even get insurance approval. I know my insurance covers this. I have an apt on June 25th to meet with the dietician again and support group. I was hoping to at least be at the halfway mark. Then July 23 is my psych eval and final appt with my surgeon. If i have not lost the weight i will have to wait until i do to be schedule or even info sent to insurance for apprval. I was given a liver reduction diet. It reminds me alot of the Atkins. But i am not seeing the weight come off. Any suggestions on how i can speed up this process of loosing the 20 lbs? I really want to be able to set a date in July. Thank you for all your suggestions. Traice in Indiana
  6. Hello to all, I would like to know what made you decide the lap band was a better choice for you? I am in the process of trying to figure out if i want the Bypass or the Band. Also i have been reading about the pre and post op diets. I have to loose 20 lbs before i can even get a surgery date. Did anyone else have to do this and if so suggestions on geting the weight off quickly please. Thanks for you help, Tracie in Indiana

    May 1st banding

TV Guy, What pre op diet did u use? I'm in the beginning stages of this long process and i've read about several different diets being used. I have to loose 20 lbs before i go back to the Dr July 23rd. At that point if i've lost the weight then it will go to the insurance for approval next. And then of course surgery date. I'm hoping to be banded in August, September at the latest. Traice

    New to the site!

HH, I am leaning more towards the Lap Band. For several reason. One being less invasive. The band just offers more of what i am looking for. But i am still exploring i'm only in the beginning stages. And if i don't get this 20 lbs off i won't be having anything done. lol  Thanks, Tracie
  10. Wonderfully said. Thanks i needed some umph to keep going and you've given it to me. Tracie
