    NSV shout outs

How sweet. There is nothing more gratifying than a random compliment. You know there is no ulterior motive behind it. I try to compliment people every chance I get. It costs nothing.
  2. To me it felt as though I was being tickled from the inside.
  3. You go girl. We old broads need to stick together.
  4. I wish you all the best for an easy surgery and uncomplicated recovery. I'm sure you will be fine. We tough old broads need to stick together.

I have to tell you about my weekend. We had a dressy affair to attend. I got a new outfit but did not show it to my husband. I went into the other room to dress and he did not see me until I was finished. He got so choked up when he saw me that he couldn't speak for a minute. It works!

  5. It seems to be about getting the last word in. Having to be right. It is juvenile.
  6. OMG, give it up already.
  7. Plastic surgeons are some of the hardest doctors to choose. Anybody who is a doctor can claim to be a plastic surgeon. So then you narrow it down to cerifications. And then you have to find good recommendations because there are still many out there who do not have good skills. It is a scarey proposition - especially those areas that show.
  8. I didn't mean any offense. It is just that is it such a serious surgery that you always want the best. We had a situation here where they were offering very discount laser eye surgery and then there were hundreds of cases of major problems with peoples' eyes.

I wish you the best. You will not regret the surgery.

Has Dr. Alvarez had any VSG Leaks?

He's got a great team. You will do well.
  11. I went to Mexico for a number of reasons. One was that my insurance said they wouldn't pay for it and I wasn't willing to jump through their hoops to try to reverse the decision. Secondly, even if they had said they would pay, the surgeons in my town had little to no sleeve experience. Sleeve experience was high on my list. Third, I was in a hurry. I was able to arrange the Mexico surgery rather quickly.

    Out of the twos!

The ONE's is a great place to be. Just think of the next time you go to the doctor and they are schooching the thing over on the scale - they will stop before the TWO. Hooray!

    NSV shout outs

*I took a bunch of clothes to the consignment store *I gave about 20 pairs of pants the next size down to my good friend who has been out of work for six months. *I bought some clothes on sale the next couple of sizes down and flew through one size before I wore them. *I bought a beautiful outfit to wear to a cocktail party with my husband's new work people. I've never met them before and I won't feel self-conscious about how I look now. I'm going to wear it to my daughter's wedding on the cruise ship in October too. *I bought a pair of 'girlie' shoes to wear with the outfit. They are 3 1/2". I can't remember the last time I wore 3 1/2" heels. I've been walking around the house in them to practice walking in them again. lol *My latest NSV is really a scale victory. I broke my stall and now have less weight to lose than I've already lost. Hooray! (in my very ambitious goal)

    Lack of interest in food

I agree. eggs used to be my go-to food. Always handy and easy to fix. Now I can't tolerate them. They don't want to go down unless they are poached. I have to force the food in to get the Protein in. You get so many more grams of protein per ounce than other options.

    Problem with eating-HELP!

I have the same trouble. Anything with a little density just doesn't seem to like going down. It only takes a few bites to be 'full' and feel as though it will back up. I'll try chewing even more.

    Regrets?

No regrets here. I'm a happy camper. I think that stalls are EVIL, but they do end. I only have about a half of an ounce until I'm officially 'fat'. It's been a while since I was there.
  17. I was in the hospital for three days and was totally self-sufficient when I got home. I was alone. As posted above, do not lift over 15 pounds and I wouldn't reach far above my head.

    Dr. Aveves patients

I lost 14 pounds pre surgery. I was doing shakes for breakfast and lunch with snacks of cheese or pieces of turkery in between if I got hungry. Then for dinner I had protein and a vegetable.

    is this for seniors?

I have to note that I lost 14 of those pounds pre-op on the diet. I've had two stalls. The first lasted about two weeks and I just broke the second one this morning. It was over two weeks. They are EVIL :cursing:. I used to be 5.8 and think I'm actually closer to 5'7" now. I'm shooting for the moon. Twenty pounds higher than my goal is acceptable. Ten much better and GOAL is the BEST. I'm here is you have questions.
  20. Mine was removed before the recovery room.
  21. Then opt out. You may have a rougher first day of recovery or may need more post op pain meds, but only you can judge what you are willing to endure.

    is this for seniors?

I'm the old lady here who can speak from experience. I was a month shy of 65 when I had my surgery. It was a piece of cake. By the time I got home from the hospital I was just fine. I had no problems in the hospital. I'm doing well on the program - although I'm in an EVIL STALL right now. HATE that. I am determined to get to my goal even if my body wants to maintain on 600 calories. I figure the next 20 years is going to FINE!

I'll say right out that I know nothing of Dr. Almanza so this is not for or against him, but this is not a place to bargain shop!
