    Easyband

I am still in the 'thinking' stage, I met with Dr Ashton in March and do believe this is the way forward, however, it is alot of money to part with, the easyband is attractive to me as my fear in life is needles, has any1 regretted having it done or has it been worth the money? I really would appreciate people's honesty x
  4. Thanks for replying William, as you will well know researching the easyband is difficult due to the length of time it has been out, so its great to hear from someone that actually has an easyband fitted. Congratulations on your weight loss you must feel great I wish you every success with it. I agree when I met with Dr Ashton on 17th May he gave me great confidence in what they do. I have been reading on here that a lot of people have gone to Belgium at half the cost (normal band) at first I was tempted as I already have the amount saved but I think I will wait just a bit longer & save the rest of the money to have the easyband, I am terrified of needles so its the best option for me. Once again many thanks Michelle

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Hi all it's funny how things change when your carrying weight I used to be a sun goddess and today probably the hottest day of the year so far I'm sitting in the house hiding from the sun! I really need to sort this op out soon and start getting on with life again x

Lap Banding - Where to go?

Did you have your's done by Chris De Burne, alot of people on here seem to have used him in Belgium. I had hoped to have an easyband fitted as there is no port & I'm scared of needles also worried about the aftercare but it's a huge saving its going to cost me nearly £7k to have the easyband.

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Thanks for the welcome, hope all goes well in June homecare. It's a bit daunting considering surgery abroad but its comforting to know that so many have done it with fantastic results.

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

Many thanks flirty for recommending this thread. I am new on here and must confess I am having trouble finding my way around lol I have just had my first consultation with Healthier Weight in Manchester and have decided this is the route I am going to take fed up with losing weight putting it back on and more this has been my life's circle for over 20 yrs now. I don't feel like I'm in control anymore and my family (who I must say are extremley supportive) have suffered the consequences of living with me, so now its my time to take responsibility and hopefully control not just for my sake but my whole families. I had been set on having my op done in Manchester as the consultant was fab and certainly knew his stuff but after reading some of the post's on here I may look into Dr Chris is would be great not to have to spend the full £7k on one op the rest can go in my "kitty" for later who knows what this journey will lead to x

Lap Banding - Where to go?

I think the NHS really need to take a long hard look at their policies, there are not many who have this op done on the NHS but there are plenty of people being treated for obesity related illnesses they could probably save so much money every year. I went to my GP who is actually a member of a group lobbying for more banding to be done, however, he does not think I am a good candidate as I have lost weight with the help of slimming pills in the past, he asked the dumb question of how did I manage to put the weight back on and that I should do it again and when I get to a realistic weight join a gym if only it was that simple! I have decided that I am going to have an easyband fitted with Healthierweight in Manchester, the only disappointment is that I think it will take me a while to save the fee. Good luck in whatever you decide to do x

    Mr Sean Woodcock - Surgeon

I am in Gosforth and its great to see people on here who live locally and not just from the USA. Any tips etc would be gratefully received this really is very daunting and such a huge step hopefully for the better x
  11. I don't think they are yet approved in the states, the band is more or less the same but has a tiny motor built into it, the biggest difference is that there is no port, all fills are done by an electronic machine, i have opted for this as I am scared of needles lol
  12. I am still in early stages and had my 1st consulation on Sunday and have decided to have an easyband fitted. I have so far only told a select few people and have had very mixed reactions. I don't think I will share it with anyone else at least not yet, good luck with your journey
  13. Hi All I am just starting on my journey, I had my 1st consultation with Dr Ashton at the healthier weight centre on Sunday. My partner was very hesitant about me having surgery he thought it was mind over matter and that I should just go back on a diet take regular exercise and start taking Reductil again, all that changed after talking to Dr Ashton & has agreed to support me in my decision (yey)! I am definately ready but I am also feeling really nervous not sure how i will cope without food lol.
  14. Hi I have just joined this forum I am too considering easyband, what type of band did you go for in the end and have you any regrets. Regards Michelle
  15. Hi all I'm so glad I found this site it looks so informative and best all sharing experiances with real people! I have been researching weight loss surgery for almost a year but more seriously now I have made my decision. However, going on the internet is provig somewhat of a minefield lol I am considering having the easyband but there dosn't seem to be much research has anyone had one fitted that can provide some experiance? I would be grateful for any info anyone is willing to share as I'm sure you will agree this is a very daunting time in life. Michelle
