Hi Monique..what I meant by sensitive to foods is that I get heartburn bad on just about everything!! And I'm sorry to hear you need the band removed. Well I can telll you that surgery to get it removed is the same as placing the band same recovery time. It took a little while to get used to the amounts so start slowly if possible try to eat the same amounts as you do now banded. I've gained 35 lbs since my removal in 0October 2013 so I guess that's not to bad. Expect to gain dr baggs told me it's like when a balloon disinflates..it could come on quick if you are.not careful. But since you are aware of it you will work harder to not allow it. I can eat everything and as much as I allow myself too...at least untill the heartburn kicks is...one thing too I still get sharp pains where my port used to be..dr said that would happen because he had to cut into a big muscle where the port was at. You can do this..its for the better for you. I dont regret removing it..im not worried anymore about a slip or corrosion.

Hey everyone! It sounds like everyone is on the same boat with the band. Well let me tell you all I regret the band. I had it removed last year due to it getting disconnected..yeah prettyu much the tube was floating in my stomach dr baggs said I was very lucky that I didn't damage my spleen or something else. I have not been the same. I am very sensitive to foods, I get so much heartburn..my side where the port was is so painful...baggs said it would be a few years before the pain goes away due to the scar tissue. Im back to my weight I was presurgery maybe 10lbs less. But I am very swollen on my upper stomach not sure why. Unfortunately this happened to me..but I was told it was very rare. Getting a revision wasn't an option..I was so scared I just wanted it out..I didn't realize how quickly the weight came back

Morning everyone! I'm scheduled to get my gallbladder and lapband. Removed n Monday and I'm pretty scared. Not only of tge surgery.but recovery and weight gain. I feel this is the best decision. My catheter that connects toy port is disconnected so I have this tube in my body floating and causing pain. If anyone has had the band removal can you share tge experience and did your insurance pay for it?

I have some horrible news. I was ju just told that my catheter that should be attached to my port is disconnected they just told me now after a CT scan that was taken in June I'm having a hard time getting into surgery I changed doctors and I am so scared has anyone experienced or know of anyone that went through this

No worries.Heather youve waited this long and you are so deserving of it.... Wow Heather I cant believe it you going to actually get it done..hurray for you whoo hooo!! For those of you who have not heard of me i dont doubt it.. I dont log in much .. heres is a lil about me..I had my Surgery 11/18/2009 and Ive lost a total of 68 lbs..yeah I know not much but it's been a struggle..this is definatly not a quick fix..its a LOT of work on your part. You can either work the band or go back to where you started. I am choosing to work it baby so yes after being in hibernating mode I'm back to what I need to do. I just kept hiding.. I dont know why but I can go on but y'all dont have the time or probably the interest in my problems so all im going to say is.... I'M BACK ! Wish me luck and need all the prayers I can get. Maria

Hi everyone!!! THANKS PAM!!! I so missed u guys. okwhere do I start I haven't lost ANYTHING!! I', still at 196 !! I was hoping to be at least at 156 by my one year anniversary which was 11/18. That would have been 100 llbs lost I havent went in for a fill since May. I really should get my butt in there. But Robin wants me to log and I have been so bad about that. sorry just venting.
