    Banding Tomorrow 11/29/10

U will b fine.... U will come up with some creative way of eating. The 1st 6 week is the hardest. But i will say that I love my band. If you do right by your band you wont go wrong. Just remember to drink and eat slowing. Please chew chew and chew again. After the surgery you may not want anything to eat the 1st week. Please try to get up and walk to move the gas. Good luck

To be or not to be...restricted

i would say if you're having problems , then do not get another fill yet. I didn't really start feeling restricted until i had at least 7.2 cc in a 10cc band. Make sure you are taking small bites and chewing well Please do not drink right after you eat. That will just make it worst. Good luck to you
  7. I'm sorry to hear about your mom. i will definitely mention it to the Dr.

Do you wish you had a bypass?

Unfortunatley, i do not wish i had the bypass. I have a personal goal for me a month. If i can lose 10lb a month. I am happy. We must remember that losing the wait slow is more healthier. We also have to remember that the band is a tool. I work out 5 days a week and i count calories and so far so good. It will happen just be patience

Just being able to walk up the stairs to my apartment without feeling like my chest is going to cave in. Not hearing my twins telling me to come on mom is also great.

    fills,getting stuck,stomach pouch

I was wondering the same thing. i feel like i can eat everything. I have my 1st fill on the 29th. I haven't gain any nor have i lost any since 2 week post op. I guess this is why the call it "BANDSTER HELL"
  12. I was told not to lift over 20lbs for 4 to 6 weeks. Im ready to do ab excerises as well. I think when i go get my 1st fill on the 29th. i will be released with no restriction.

    What is safe to take?

Mrs. Mink It will get better. it actually took me at least 7 days to get back to normal. You are feeling like i felt on my day 3. Gas X didn't help me neither. You will probably have a BM in a few days. It will happen. Don't get stress. You have to walk, walk and walk some more.
  14. That's great!!! keep up the good work. Yes, i am getting hungry. I've been doing the Post op diet that was given by my dr. liquids 10day after surgery, the next 10 day on mushies (soft food). then regular food. I think im in the phase that they call "Bandster hell". I don't get my 1st fill until the 29th. I haven't gain any weight. just holding steady at 44 lbs lost. i started going back to gym today and burned 561 calories. I think i only took in 900 calories today. Stay positive. it will happen. email me anytime. We can do this together :)

  15. can you drink too much liquids with the band. Im struggling becuase i know that im not drinking the 64 oz of water a day, I'm so tired of the protein shakes. i know that im not getting the 64 grams of proteins a day either. I start on mushy food today. When i try to drink a bottle of water it just seem like i can never finish it. Can i be drinking to fast? As anyone else experience this?
