  1. Hi xavier, I have had three fills the first one was five weeks after my surgery. I kept eating the way we do slow any steady and on the fourth day after my first fill I was so tight I only ate about 2 tablespoons full of food at each meal. Then I could not eat any more. I always ate the protein first and sometimes that is all I could eat. I eat a lot of greek yogurt and eggplant with meat sauce. If you want I can give you the recipe for the Wendy's Chili. I eat that all the time. I usually put grated cheese and or sour cream on it as well. Tastes great and is easy on my band.

  2. Just to let you know your story is so so so important. WE all learn from the sharing what goes on in these pages. I am so glad to be a friend. It means the world to me too;-) I have NOT told any of my friends. Only my family know about it (LB). It is my personal journey and I feel ok sharing with others like me on the same journey. It is so helpful reading the blogs. I will have a great week You Too. Talk soon. Kathy imaluckydog

  7. Hi I am glad you joined us on our Lap band Journey. It is so nice to know that others care. It is important to me to be happy as I make my way on this Lap band trip of ours. I am also exercising it helps to keep me positive and gives me more energy. Mind you I am not killing myself either. I have been full since I was banded. That is a good thing. Keep in touch and best wishes. You will do well. imaluckydog

  8. Hi Laura, When I stopped drinking with my meals I felt fuller longer. It was the hardest thing I have ever done NOT to drink with a meal. Almost as hard as when I quilt smoking so that says a lot!!! We grow up thinking we have to wash our food down with something. The Lapband works when you do not drink with meals it took me a while to figure this out. I do not own a scale so the only time I get weighed is at a fill. I am very pleased with my down ward progress, I am also working hard at making Good Food Choices that helps too. I think about you often. Glad to hear things are OK. Keep me posted Love imaluckydog Kathy hey I am not under 200 yet it will be a while but I know it will happen. Best wishes and BE HAPPY

  9. Hi I just love what this band has done for me. I read your blog all the time. I makes me happy. I have had some very GOOD days and they are only getting better every day. You will have to let me know when your restriction kicks in. I had lobster bisque. I went real slow. I probably will not feel it for a few days. I am trying raspberries tomorrow! Thanks for sharing. imaluckydog Kathy

  10. Hi How are you???? I had my second fill yesterday. It went better than the first one. I am on a liquid / soft food stage for 48 hours. I feel full so I am having to really try to drink and eat. Hope all is well with you. Thinking about you. imaluckydog Kathy

  11. Hey the Dog Pack is on the move. We all help each other out on these pages. You will see. It has been an amazing journey glad you are with us. I added you as a friend. We can keep in touch, Best wishes imaluckydog

  12. Hi, You will be as successful. I am curious how much protein your nutritionist wants you to eat? I always eat my protein first no matter what kind of protein it is. I do not eat white soft bread or rolls. I have found I do not do well with grilled red meats or grilled pork, even if I chew, chew, chew, to beat the band. Those food just do not sit well with me. The key is eat slower than you think you need too and drink just as slow. When your body heals you will be able to go a little faster as your body adjusts. I had lunch at a friends house yesterday. I am not telling anyone so I had to really concentrate on going slow. The hostess served Philly cheese steak. I did ok. I am here for you if you have any questions. Have a great day. Kathy imaluckydog

  13. Hi, I do not own a scale. If I did I would be on it 24-7. I was told not to get my head in the numbers. I have over 100 pounds to loose. I have been weighed about 4 times once Post surgery Dr. visit. Weighed at two weeks, then at week 5 and now week 7. I have lost 48 pounds. Now that is GOOD!!! I do not know if some weeks I did not loose? I am just looking at it as one BIG SUCCESS picture. I made a decision that has changed my life. You will loose if you use the Band as a tool the way it is intended. Eat what and how much, you are supposed to, don't forget the water, and when you feel better start walking or exercise. I just know you will do well. I usually walk about 30 minutes. Keep me posted. Kathy imaluckydog

  14. Hi, I just sent you a friend request. Have a great day. imaluckydog Kathy

  15. Hi my Little Band Buddy, How are you? I am up early today going the work and then to the nutritionist. I am keeping my food down Thank goodness. After my fill I had such problems. I now take almost 45 minutes to eat my almost 3/4 cup of food usually protein. Then I get the fruit in about half an hour later. I am curious how you made out after your first fill? I do not get another until August 26. Just thinking about you. Kathy imaluckydog

  16. Hi KayVee, How are you? I am doing better. I had a little struggle after my first fill. Getting use to working with the band I can say I am doing better. Hope all is well. keep in touch.

  17. Hi Patti, 80 lbs is amazing... So GOOD!!! I will try to make the Sept. if you speak I look forward to it. I had my first fill and have been full ever since. The band and I are working together these days. Happy Anniversary to you. Keep in touch. Kathy imaluckydog

  19. Was too wordy....

I am envious of that. You are lucky! I feel like a Chubacca from Star wars now even at breakfast.

I go for a check with my nutritionist on the 12th I think that is Wednesday. I will get weighed in. I am so excited I can see the difference in my face now. It was hard to see for a while even though others have noticed I could not!!

Hope all is well. Thinking of you. Kathy imaluckydog who is not in any pain for today!

  20. Hi Laura, I am ok now Thanks for asking. It was about 3 to 4 days after my fill. I started getting stuck after eating all my normal foods. I usually eat all the same things. I stick to the same foods most of the time I am so boring. I found I needed to eat even slower and chew even MORE. It so much more painful after the fill. The experience although is a learning one at the same time. I do not know how to burp so it is hard for me. I do know what the slime is and have had a little of that. That is gross the whole stuck feeling is grossing me out. I take at least 45 minutes now to eat. I used to take 30 mins. Going very very slow is KEY and listening to your body will help. If I get talking I forget how fast I am eating I may have trouble. I have never been able to eat pasta.

  21. Hi I started my blog a while ago. I have had my ups and downs. If you click on my name imaluckydog it should take you to my blog or my page. I think. I am still new to all this and I have had so much help from everyone on this site it is amazingly supportive. These are people who are like us and have been thru what we are going thru. I think I started blogging back in May. If you get to my page there is a little calendar and any number highlighted is when I made a blog entry. I went back and re read some of the things I wrote about and I feel even better today. We can be friends if you want. Have a great day. Keep in touch Ok Kathy

Hope all is well with you. Have a nice slow, chewwy day. Kathy imaluckydog who is not is any pain for today!!

  24. I had too many words sorry.

I went to the GYM after my first post to you that made me feel so much better. If I get stuck I do use and like those Papaya Enzymes they work wonders that's for sure. I have a bottle next to my bed. One in my car, a baggie of them in my purse and some in the bathroom so I am covered. I had a liquid breakfast and soft cheese for lunch I am just going to go real slow from now on. "Eat small to be small". That's the name of that GAME. Look forward to hearing from you again. It sounds like we are experiencing many of the same feelings these days. Lets keep in touch OK ;-) Kathy imaluckydog who is feeling better now.

  25. You are TOOOO FUNNNNY about what others think LOL!!!! I was Ok with dinner tonight. I had to watch it my mother was over and she does not know about LB. She would just drive me crazy. I made her favorite meal BBQ Ribs. They did fall off the bone so I had two. I did put half a rack on my plate like everyone else. I didn't want her to think otherwise. I gave three to my son and pulled a few apart and just picked at the moist pieces. I was OK. Thank GOD. Chew, chew, chew, and go soooooo slow. I had some corn but it took me about me an hour to eat the meat on two pork ribs and one ear of corn. I was so thirsty and I wanted to drink but I waited until about 5 minutes ago and had a large glass of decaf iced tea Hummm that was good.
