  1. Has anyone else noticed how FUNKY your breath has gotten since you've been banded.... I hate to say this, but it's to the point where I NOTICE IT. Not matter how much you brush your teeth, Have SF mints and try to eat as purely as possible, it's boiled down to purchasing and always carrying the new "wisps" they've come out with (a disposable toothbrush with a sugarfree mint flavored ball that melts with your saliva as you brush).

It has also gotten so bad that the taste in my mouth makes me gag.

  2. Had my 2nd fill last friday, I think I need more in there, he keeps putting only .8ccs in it, and I have like No restriction. it all depends on what I eat thought, but 99% of the time there's non. I know I need more because I have the urge to snack. I'll probably go in 2 weeks if I don't lose anything again this week, because I'm working My ass off and still not losing or gaining, really frustrated, very stressed and agrivated. :smile2:

  3. ...and I have a very high tolerence for pain! lol...he had some trouble finding it,but he kept hitting a nerve in my back. He finally got it though! He said from what it sounds like, that i'm in my green zone. Mind you this is my first fill, but he had about 3 cc's in there (from what i could tell holding the needle while he searched for a paper cup for me) from my surgery. So hopefully this will top me off and i can start loosing agian!

I had the same problem, I had fatty deposits around my port so he stuck me 3 times before finding the port. I already had 1cc in there and he filled it with .8cc's and my 2nd fill is next friday, so excited about that, though the deposits are gone so my prot is prominent now. It's great when that slump finally goes away, So good luck!!!!! and congrats!

  4. Bread is an absolute NO-No especially this recently post op. I attempted toast the other day and almost called 911 because I started to choke as I was vomiting (not pB'ing- Projectile vomiting) Have them do a scan to see if everything is still in place. Water & smooth beverages should be no problem going down, what was the time ratio between when you ate & drank, because that could have an effect too...

  5. This all helps so much, thanks guys. it was one of those moments where I was just HUNGRY, and I know now (even this morning) I made a really really poor choice in food.

Jaqi.... You look FABULOUS btw. it's almost like having a hangover the next day my stomach is still F'd up. And it's been happening a lot lately even with lowfat & FF/SF foods.

Who knows, it' could be a cross combo of Stress at work and IBS and the heat (Bosses refuse to put A.C on in work) That just has me irritated, internally and externally.

I've only had 1 fill so far, and my restriction is hit or miss at this point. But I know now, Stay far far away from the heavy foods!!!!! Thats why I love this site, because we're honest with each other.. Thanks guys keep posting!!

  6. Since most of us have had our fills, have been on solids etc, We're all still learning the do's and don'ts of eating. I learned today that even the slightest bit of Cream sauce over Pasta, will set your digestive system into a tailspin..... what foods have you all noticed, that Just send a shock to your system and force you to keep the pepto handy...

  7. I had my first fill 3 wks ago tomorrow. The nausea started for me at 2 wks post fill. I do get a "barely there" hunger pang, but not much more than that. In my case, the nausea starts a couple of hours after I eat, like between 1.5-2 hrs. It doesn't matter if it is soft foods or liquids. I am losing really nicely, down 30 pounds in 7 wks, and I would hate to have to be "unfilled", but this nausea is worse than when I was pregnant! I don't puke, but the nausea is definitely there. I am wondering if maybe some nausea med would work?

I'm supposed to get my second fill next friday, I'm still nausious, but not as much, food has just been harder to tolorate, I'm still living on salad and grilled chicken because it's the safest for me.

  8. I have almost the opposite, but the same situation.

My relationship was on the verge of being over because of my weight. He was embarassed to be seen with me in public because I limped and waddled at the same time (I have hip arthritis and the weight added to it) and always had the "miserable face" on.

I was big when I met him 4 years ago, and I lost 85lbs within the first year we were together. And gained it all back and then some after a year of keeping it off.

Now that I'm losing, he's becoming a little more over-protective of me, especially online, and on here. Constantly asking me if I've noticed any hot guys, or have I been hit on etc.

The bedroom area is basically at a standstill. Women, hormonally change when they lose weight. I'm in that funk right now. And it sucks, because we should be the opposite because I'm not as lethargic as I used to be.

Someone above mentioned the "security blanket" aspect of it. VERY VERY TRUE. People tend to think because you lose weight, That your going to emerge with a "fatgirl/guy" complex, like suddenly your shit don't stink. Some of us actually have the capability of remaining the same, beautiful on the inside and out. certain women like to have that heir of confidence that they are "too good for you, and your lucky to have me, considering", Maybe she just can't handle it. And if thats the case. It's time to move on. because in the end, it's her loss. I hope this helps?

  9. I've only had 1 fill so far 2 weeks ago and it's been hit or miss when it comes down to eating, I too have been PB'ing and or vomiting a lot with certain foods. The only 2 things that seem to stay down is Yogurt and grilled chicken salad. I was able to eat gnocci with grilled chicken last night, but felt ill after about 5 forkfulls.

I hate to say it, but maybe your stomach is just really sensitive to the band and the saline itself. Good luck with it.

  10. I just had a NSV: A pair of denim capris, and a tee-shirt I have not worn in a year and a half fit- PERFECTLY!, took a shot in the dark trying the capri's on, and they slid right on and buttoned no problem!!!!!!

Again, They are NY & co,Size 14 but they are slim-fit So they are probably a 12 in other stores. And when I got them they were TIGHT on me Like to the point that after I ate I had to un-button them and pull my shirt down to cover it, They looked like they were screaming- PLEASE HELP ME!!! and I had to take them off immediatly when I got home. Again for the enormousness of my behind, I have to pull them up constantly so I don't get the "cut-off roll"....

The tee-shirt I just pulled it on and it fit in all the right places.... The last time this happend was 3 years ago. I'm in heaven right now!

  11. I had an allergic reaction to the adhisive in the bandages they used, and ended up having an infection in one of my incisions because of it. The scab actually came off last saturday. 6 weeks after my surgery. They didn't give me benedryl, but just prescription strength bacitracin.

    Good luck with healing!

  12. I still have some scabs, but they are very faint & thin, MY biggest problem still, is my port site. Because of it's location at my bra line. I guess it's time to invest in some new undergarments, but I'm in between sizes in that area. Some of them I Just can not wear period or I'll be in agony all day.

I still have restriction after my first fill, but for some reason I was just hungry all day yesterday. I don't know if it's all the walking I did, but it just seemed like every 2 hours I was hungry. Today so far, I'm just nausious.

My hormonal changes have mellowed out a bit, and My hair too is not thining but I notice a lot more coming out in the shower. SO far, The place I notice my wl the most in is my legs. My calf muscles are making an appearence again, and I can actually see my toes when I look down. The DH notices it more in my face and waist. like he can actually wrap his arms around me again, and my son too noticed he can wrap his arms around my waist and touch his hands (big discovery when your 7!)

I'm bottom heavy, and I'm short, so the upper half is where it's most noticable. Congrats on the 60+ lbs. you go girl! best of luck to everyone!!!! we're in this together:thumbup:

  13. Not only will I look tht up, but the other products also! Thanks, sarahbelzzz

BTW, The box comes with 6, 3 Wildberry cream, and 3 orange, I actually just tasted the berry one, it was as good as the orange... I hope your search is successful, because believe me, It feels good eating melted (and Ice cream) cheese without feeling guilty :tongue_smilie:

  14. Ok so I got banded on May 26th, I have had no fills yet. Not having my first fill until August 3rd on dr.'s recommendations. He let me start eating solid food on July 2nd, which has been great BUT.... I feel like I did before surgery. I am doing good with the not drinking before and after, I am trying to eat healthier. but the portion sizes are slowly creeping up. I haven't gained any weight but I haven't lost either. I read all of the fill stories and now people are on the 2nd and 3rd fills. I have never had anything stuck(thank goodness) but I still feel like I am taking too big bites. I don't get it. I feel like before I had the band. So far my band hasn't been "turned on". Just kinda sucks after all that you go through to get it. I fell like I just went 8 weeks of hell for nothing. :frown: Had to vent thanks. :)

welcome to bandster hell!!!:tongue_smilie: Don't worry, it will pass soon... We've all been through it, the first fill will be a blessing.....

  15. Singin' Weight watchers makes a Low fat creamsicle, and they aren't that bad- The DH can not tell the difference, Thats how I know what has been successful in getting my household healthy with me (except my son b/c he needs to gain weight- he only absorbs 2% of the fat he ingests) Believe it or not, the weight watchers line of products have been little saviors to me, because they are low fat, low sodium high Protein and Fiber, the cheeses are REALLY good, and they melt beautifully. So next time your in the supermarket, I suggest looking to se if your local one carries the ww ice creams..... I recomend!

  16. down 3 this week, making the grand total 28lbs lost. I was a little thrown off with it and then brilliant me took her sneakers off.... it's been a hell of a week. today was the first real day I got some activity in. eating pineapple chunks for the first time in a long time, You gotta love the summer for the fact of fresh fuit platters in the super market!!!

  17. Congrats Lurr. MY NSV has to do with Pants as well.... I 'm in that inbetween sizes phase, but am able to get my fat ass into a pair of work pants that say "12" on them.... It's so strange how NY & co runs.... I have a pair of Work pants from them that are an 18, and they are becoming loose on me. But a different cut pants are a 12 and fit nicely..... I usually have a good day when I wear the 12's lol

  18. Pasta & rice have been my saving graces. I don't eat mushrooms lol, I just never liked them, they used to creep me out when I was little, so I avoid them at all costs! and if I have something with them in it, I pick them out and give em to the DH. I AM THAT PERSON that asks for a second plate to pick things out of my food to put on the side. I've been a server before, so I know How obnoxious it is to alter an order. So I order as is, and pick.

Rice has been tricky though. I PB'd some spanish rice and Beans last night, and I've read on a few surgeons websites that rice is to be avoided, My doc says it's just fine.

Have you had Pastina yet? since your on mushies, Pastina should be fine. I alternated with Pastina with some butter, and Polenta with salsa & cheese. I survived!

  19. Ann, it is very fitting, because my weight was really starting to impact our relationship. to the point where we didn't go out anymore because I could hardly walk when we did. I did notice yesterday how easily I could walk, and barely had pain, almost like my limp & waddle were gone. I still have bad days with the hip, but the waddle is almost obsolete. And, MY posture has improved. SO the savior it is indeed.

  20. My dad wears a cpap machine, My family has aweful sinus' and narrow airways, I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea, thats another reason my surgery was approved.

According to research I've done, It will lighten up when Your face and neck start to slim out, because you won't have the fat weighing on your airways. MY DH has noticed that after my first 15lbs down my snoring lightend up. I noticed it to that I'm dead to the world about 20 mins after I close my eyes. in the 7 weeks since my surgery, I can honestly say that I've only had about 5 or 6 restless nights.

Give it some time, it will ease up. I promise.

  21. I'm so sorry to hear that Burniegal, My 2nd fill is scheduled for the 24th. My restriction is sooo weird. I def have it. and I do have a severe lack of appitite to the point where sometimes I have to force myself to eat just because it's time (I have my meal times planned and I stick to it).

I need to def increase my Protein, And I get nausious easily.

Hang in there, it will be a great feeling when you get the fill.

As for excercise..... lol.... I def need to up the ante on that one. It's just been hard with my schedule lately, and I've been sick as a dog for the past week, so I'm still looking into affordable gyms. And I have an interview today for a new job, I've been soooooooo stressed at work that I started sending out my resume to get the hell out of there. Though Very fortunate That I do have a job, but Sometimes, You have to trust your instincts, and mine are saying it's time.

SO good luck everyone, we're 7 weeks out now!!!
