  1. How long should it take me to drink a 11 oz premier chocolate shake? Is twenty minutes too fast? While on week 2 post op, it went down fine but has me worried.

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Concerned post week two I can drink a premier shake in twenty minutes. Is that too fast? Had surgery 10/8 Also want to confess I did not measure my Soup closely last pm and today. A belly ache and first nausea in a while scared me tonight. So I am back to thinner full liquids, think the roasted tomato soup was too much, and measuring. No guess work. I did not have lortab all day until now. Hopefully that is it. It's helping. Done so well, how could I let a little boredom and carelessness put me at risk for a leak.

    Drinking Too Fast

Also want to confess I did not measure my soup this weekend. Thanks for holding me to this...
  5. Just wanted to share current weight loss. Started getting serious about my pre op diet mid September and was around 318, was 302 just before my October 8 Sleeve. Today I got on the scale and was 278! Love this sleeve! 40 lbs Baby!

    Happy Dance

This is week two of recovery. Go back to work next Monday. Looking forward to the social aspect. Trying get as much sleep I can, go for a brisk walk outside everyday and keep hydrated. I have found I like creamy tomato soup or tomato bisque. Never did pre op. I tried half of a v8 at the store. Did not sit right all night. May be too much acid this early. Best of luck to everyone.
  10. I had surgery Monday and my jaw has been sore since. Caught myself clinching my teeth, as well. Used to but had stopped. Well today, my mouth will not open fully. I researched online and have been using a heating pad on my jawbone to relax the muscles tonight. May need to get a brace to prevent grinding. Did anyone else get tmj after intubation? Thx

    "normal Life" Down The Road?

There is a great book I am reading by a physician on mindlful eating that talks about listening to our bodies to guide our eating like a naturally thin person might... I really like it. www.amihungry.com

Scopolamine is a patch that goes behind your ear for nausea. Helped me so much. They put it on me in surgery holding. Looks like a really small bandaid.
