hey hey, Donna! Good to hear from you - I'm up for hanging out after the class - nothing else I'd rather do Anybody else? Tina, I know you can't - having company and all (hot date with the ol' supervisor, you thin little thing you - LMAO) FYI: Finally broke 211.6 - just by a hair! 210.7! Hopefully, this will be the beginning of another losing streak! I have thought about trying to start the Couch to 5K program - anybody tried it? I downloaded the podcast music mixes for it. My walking isn't getting any easier for me so I think I need a push - ramp it up or something! Kind of an endurance thingy. Any feedback on this would be great! Riley? Christine? any other exercise queens.... Reggie, haven't heard much from you as of late - how's that recovery going? -

Good Morning Ladies... Yeah, Tamra, that is the orientation... It's not bad, just don't be late or they won't let you in and you'll have to reschedule! You WILL be doing liquids for a while LOL Sheena - lookin good, girl, with your little hour-glass figure! That plateu diet looks alot like the atkins induction phase. Proof positive that carbs are bad, bad, bad! -
these r the bowls i eat out of...its easier to show everyone a pic than to try to explain...i fill this bowl with tuna...chicken fajitas...tofu chili...etc....protein...i eat out of these bowls 3xs a day and i ALWAYS eat out of them...i this keeps me full

Glad you had a good time Riley woman! A little weight gain is nothing for you and your exercise addicted self - it will come right back off. Ok, so what is the deal with bread - why do you think it is such a problem - i can't eat it anyway because to look at a slice makes me gain 10lbs but why the problem after the band? Doesn't bread desolve quick? -

It is a 1200 calorie diet - but it's a lot of food - breakfast is 3oz protien (like 3 eggs), 1 serving of fruit, 1 serving of dairy (1c fat free milk - 100% sugar), 1 serving of carbs (cream of wheat or grits), 1 serving of fat. lunch & dinner is about the same but add 1 serving of veggies. It's ALL carbs with the exception of the protein & fat - if you stick to green leafy veggies the carb count is really low. It's really good if you don't have an intolerance to carbs like some of us do - I gained weight on this diet - LOL. This is what the Richmond dietician has put together - It may be different at your location. It is suppose to be designed for you to lose weight for the surgery. The day after your orientation you should start the diet. They will explain it to you in the orientation but basically, they need to band you directly beneath your liver and if it's too thick (fatty) they can't do it hence 1 of the reasons you need to lose weight - also, I think they want to be sure you can follow the plan because it's a life long one! -
That's great! Ahh, i see you found 2flyguys - that girl deserves and award for her beauty & motivational skills! You'll be there too - I promise!

Tina, you little carb detective you! too bad about the slurpee - guess we shoud've known it was too good to be true - LOL Damn, Reggie - you have lost so much weight - go girl! Pam - WEAR THOSE TANK TOPS LIKE YOU OWN THAT CAMP SITE! I wear them all the time - I just don't walk past mirrors - LOL Tamra - DO NOT TRIP, GIRL! Not all of us have to lose 10% I only have to lose 14 (and I'm not doing that so well at the moment) and I believe Tina only had to lose 12lbs - is that right, Tina? - Anyway, you CAN do this! I hope you decide to call Richmond and get in there. My Dr., Dr. Fisher, basically said that I dont' have to follow the pre op diet and that it contains way too many carbs - Carbs keep you hungry and craving food! Stick to proteins, fats & green leafy veggies and you will do fine! WE will help you stay motivated! If you need help with anything - just let us know! Come Saturday and you will see how great these girls are and how helpful & motivating they are - I wouldn't have gotten this far if it wasn't for them! Heather will be there and she's close to your age & weight - She's doing awsome!! -

Hi Tamra - thanks for joining in - the more people we have to support each other the better and you won't find a better group of ladies than the ones I've found on here!! The time it takes really depends upon you & your surgeon. You should get your surgeon apt at the end of the orientation class - at least, Heather and I did. Once you meet with your surgeon he will make a Psych apt for you and tell you how much weight he wants you to lose before you get banded. Then it's up to your body as to how quickly you can lose the required amount of weight. DO NOT TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT BEFORE ORIENTATION! THAT WILL BE YOUR STARTING WEIGHT. Then, start the diet asap! That will get you closer to your surgery goal weight faster. I am not banded yet - I have to lose 6.8 more lbs - I did great at first but now my old body is like - forget it - LOL. Pay attention to your body because the pre op diet doesn't work for all of us - in fact, I gained weight on it - it is made up of primarily carbs and I can't do carbs so I had to switch up to a more Atkins type deal. There is a support group this Saturday in sacramento - I live and Vallejo and can drive you if you need a ride but It's very helpful to meet others and have their support - I feel it's like being in AA where you have to change all your friends - I can't really hang with my old group of girls anymore because they just want to go to eat, drink & party - That's what got me fat in the first place - LOL Yeah, Heather & Tina - I will be there Saturday too - Donna, can you at least make it Saturday?? -

Good Morning Nicole, I love hearing about your 5 day pouch test  I've just been catching up on the posts I have been down and out with migraines grr I've had it since last Friday - 8 days now - I take my meds, sleep, wake up feeling better, meds wear off and back to square one!! Gined 2lbs - I wonder if the meds have anything to do with it? Following your lead to get back on track - when I'm tired & cranky and don't feel well I just grab any ol thing to eat - since i'm not banded yet i can eat a ton of it LOL. Going back to 1/2 c food every 3 hours - the only thing that works for me! since I felt a little better this morning I prepared a days worth of food so there won't be any excuses - got 7lbs to surgery goal! Hope this pouch test helps works out the way you want it to. -
Hi Andrea - i stumpled on this thread because I don't cook either. I'm not creative in the kitchen. I haven't been banded yet but getting prepared! What works best for me is: egg salad - I can boil eggs hahaha. I can hard boil a 1/2 dozen or so and make it with some sugar free mayonnaise - i have to go low carb or I won't lose a pound! - I got a bunch of those little glad 1/2 cup containers and fill them up & keep em in the fridge - you can have it with celery sticks. I've also gotten a bunch (3) of packs of uncured bacon and just cook em all up a once and keep them in a large freezer bags in the fridge and grab a few slices in the morning. Also, I'm not familiar with AZ but here in CA I go to costco and get their albacore tuna and canned chicken breasts - make chicken salad & tuna salad - same type of thing in the 1/2 c containers or scoop a little in a 1/2 of avacado. Flaxmeal muffin (microwaved in a coffee cup): One Minute Flax Meal Muffin - Recipe Details 1/2c ricotta cheese mixed with 1 pkt splenda & a little of your favorite extract flavoring - I like rasberry. some think this is strang but it's an italian thing hahaha very tasty I hope this helps a little -
