  1. Happy 36th Birthday socalsusie!

  2. Happy 35th Birthday socalsusie!

  3. I went to the support group meeting last night at St. Jo's. I have the psych eval scheduled for June 5th. I also still need to get the letter from Jenny Craig stating that I participated in their program. My only problem with that is that I was part of JC in 2006 and HealthNet wants me to have proof in the past 2 years. I tried telling Julie yesterday though that I was pregnant w/my daughter in 2007 and had her in 2008. I'm thinking I might ummmmm "edit" wink wink the letter. From what I have heard they really don't look that deep into it. I'm just scared that they (insurance) will make me do the 6 month diet program. I'm seriously getting soooo anxious about getting this done that waiting another 6 months really depresses me. :(

Sorry I had to post in 2 messages. Said it was too long. ;)

  4. Are you able to do your normal activites like work and such? I just worry about not having enough energy to chase around my 3 yr old and 1 yr old! lol Any pain? Does the port hurt at all? Feel nauseous? How many more weeks are you on liquids before you start mushies?

  5. Feeling good, healing up well, enjoying being active and exercising! I'm actually hungry now, yesterday was the first time I got hungry since surgery. I'm still on full liquids so there's not much thought involved with "eating" but it works. It's weird to not obsess over food, and it's a relief too!

How are you doing with your progress toward bandhood?

  6. Hey Kelly!

Just wondering how you are doing? How are you feeling? How is eating coming along? I have so many questions! lol

  7. Hey Kellster!

I just checked in today and I realized that your surgery is tomorrow! Good luck and please let us know how you are doing!!

    Susie :)

  8. Hey lady, how are you doing? Apparently I created a social group at the same time another lady from our support group did, so join "Banded around Burbank" instead - it's a great group of people, mostly banded by Dr. Quilici.

YIKES I have surgery in three days!!!! Wow I think it's just hitting me. But I'm prepared so WOOHOO!

    California Mayo Banditos?

Kellster, Thank you for your quick response! Can I also ask you if you'll have to stay in the hospital or is it an outpatient procedure? On your first initial appointment were you there waiting a long time before seeing the doc or was your appt. w/the doc long? I've been reading that people have to meet w/"Julie" before seeing that doc too? How long were you there for your first appt? Just trying to figure out how much time I'll be away from the office. Did Dr. Quilici make you lose a certain amount of weight before getting your surgery date? Again, thanks for your help. My appt. is on Wednesday and I'm sooooo anxious and nervous about it!! Susie

    new to all this

Hi Libby, I'm new to this as well and have my first consultation with Dr. Quilici next week. I know you posted your original thread a couple of months ago so I'm interested to see how its going for you now. What did Dr. Quilici make you do or what tests did you have to do? I'm trying to get a general timeline of things to look forward too. Thanks! Susie

    California Mayo Banditos?

Hi Kellster, I'm very new in this process and I'm meeting with Dr. Quilici for the first consultation next week, May 6th. My insurance (Health Net HMO) already approved gastric surgery so I guess there will need to be further approvals as the surgery comes along right? So after your initial consultation he had you wait 6 months before having the surgery? Also, I'm sure my medical records state my weight n such but what did Dr. Quilici request of you to prove it? If all works well I'll be getting laped at St. Jo's too. Please keep us posted and let us know how it goes! good luck! Susie
