Hello friends! My computer died recently, well the computer has been super slow for over a year and the monitor finally died for sure. My cell phone was jealous, and wants to go to electronics heaven with my computer. It's like the universe is trying to keep me from communicating! Went out and bought a new laptop this morning and I'm now all caught up on all things lbt! Donna- Sorry I didn't make it to the meeting/bday lunch! I'm hoping I can make it next month. I miss you all, I'd love to do a walk soon (Vallejo, not the valley- too hot here!). My Saturdays seem to be booked through the end of summer! I'm just a busy bee over here. Hope you're all doing well. Pam-Glad you got the unfill. Are you feeling better being unfilled?

Tina- It was my understanding talking with Chrissy last night that April went in for a fill or unfill and when they took fluid out, she was in severe pain. She said she felt a pulling sensation. They admitted her right away.

If I recall, April has been banded about 2 1/2 years. Some people erode very quickly. One of the bloggers I follow was banded and had erosion in only a few months. Very scary stuff. Mo- I love that, marking your spot! I might have to do that the next time I have so much to read.

Anyone else notice all the cell phones blowing up at the meeting Saturday? It's like every phone in that room got call after call. I thought there was a meteor headed our way and everyone else had inside knowledge or something! John- I did talk with him, and he's standing firm. He's a total hardass. He told me my diet was good (I had a year's worth of food logs for him). Actually, he said my food log was good if I were normal weight, but to lose I needed to cut out all fruit except for apples, all yoghurt and cheese, all cereals (including cream of wheat per the 1200 diet) and reduce my morning protein by 1/3.

Hi Ladies & John! It was so nice to visit with Tina, Donna and Pam again. I saw you Ali! You snuck out early but I did a mental "hello" to you! And it was great to meet Stacy too. Tina, we were wondering how your daughter was doing with all those surgery pics! Sometimes there was no reason for the ladies to be without bra (esp the ones where there was no work done on that area) but some of those pics were amazing! Tina- How did the seminar go? I was really bored with her for those couple of minutes she spoke to the group, maybe I was just anxious to talk with my ladies since we didn't get to break into groups yesterday. Hi Christine! (I see you down there) Hope we can plan a nice walk soon. We were thinking we should go to Vallejo since it's just too darn hot in the valley. Maybe I'll host a walk in the fall when it's a little cooler.

That would be me. Doc Fisher told me that, but it may not apply to everyone. I guess they figure if your over 300 lbs in your early 20s, you've got a problem. Dr Fisher told me (about 6 weeks ago) if I got down to 190, he'd do any surgery I wanted (band, rny, slee.ve). He's been discouraging the band from the start, told me he thinks RNY is better for me. But I'm stubborn, and I don't want my insides re-routed. If they do discontinue the band, maybe I'll join the John/Chrissy/Ash team. Who knows. Maybe I should try the Kaiser medical program with the Optifast. Probably should try EVERYTHING before I have surgery. Can't wait for the Point West meeting on Saturday! I've missed you all so much!

Remember Tina's too-tight experience? If you're too tight, don't count on losing a few lbs for it to loosen up. The opposite can happen, you can irritate your stomach causing swelling, making the band even tighter. Mo, can you get Water down? How about other foods? I know I've had problems with Vitamins getting stuck (And I don't even have a band yet! Don't know how that happened). If you are serious about being too tight, don't let that turn into an ER visist.

Cole- How old are you? I had some age related stuff come up with Doc Fisher. (I'm 26) Partly due to my age, part due to me being childless. For all the new folks, I've been in the process with Richmond for over a year now. Doc Fisher gave me a pre-surgery weight loss goal of 84 lbs. I lost 50 lbs quick, but I've been struggling for the past 6 months or so. I'll be at Point West next weekend! It feels like it has been so long since we've seen each other (Because it has!) I'm hoping we can do a walk soon too. I want to have everyone over, but I have to get this darn house in order. We finally finished putting the last two doors on today. We took all the doors down before we moved in so we could paint them, and never got the closet door or the guest bathroom door on! Little by little we're making this house our home. Took the puppy for a walk today, we did 26 minutes according to my pedometer. He's a small dog, and it's only his 3rd walk. I'm going to get him going on much longer walks with me, but we've got to work up to that.

Doc Fisher told me if I get down to 190 (BMI 32) He'd still do surgery. He explained that it's not just a weight-loss tool, but also a wait maintainance tool. A big Hello to everyone! I've been MIA for too long! It's been difficult to get to the computer lately. Trying to get a routine back with the gym etc, throw the new house and the dog in the mix (no, don't throw the dog!) and it's busy busy! Chrissy, I'm so glad surgery went well. You're gonna rock that sleeve! Gotta get to work, I'll try to read more and respond more tonight. Miss you all!

Aaaannnd... DONE. I finally finished reading all the posts I've missed. That's right, I don't half ass it and skip this stuff, I've read every single page of this thread. All 804 pages. That doesn't make me sound too good. I swear, I sometimes have a life too! Congrats Ash! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow! Congrats Chrissy and Annalynn two more surgeries scheduled! Woohoo! I have not been following the 1200 calorie diet, tough to do with the move. I tried the first night we worked on the house and I had chicken and salad for everyone, they looked at me like I was punishing them. So, I fed my crew pizza, chips, cookies, donuts and everything else high-fat, high calorie, high carb. I didn't do a food log for the past two weeks, and didn't weigh myself until this morning. (The scale was left at the old house for a while) The scale seemed kind to me, I gained a couple of lbs (about 3) but sometimes I just fluctuate like that. I have only been to the gym once all month, but I was getting a ton of steps in. Moving day had my pedometer at 18000+ steps for the day. I'm hoping to have the house ready to invite everyone over for a walk and lunch sometime in the next month. It'll be a Saturday. I'll let you know!

We should be moving in this weekend. Finished touch ups of the ceiling, and painting baseboards today. I'm so glad to have those horrible tarps off my floors. The house already feels so much cleaner. Our dog's name is CONAN, THE POMERANIAN. (Like Conan, The Barbarian). Yeah... guess who named him? He was already named when I got home. He sure is a needy little sucker! I can hardly get on the computer. He doesn't wake us up at night, he sleeps in the crate in the family room and he'll whine for a little bit when we put him in.

Wow! It's been so long since I've had that much to catch up on! Good to hear from Tina, Jes and Nicole! I've missed you ladies! Just like old times! Still exhausted, this new puppy is taking all the extra energy I have after dealing with the house. (our paint count is now up to 22 gallons- Yikes!) I really should go to bed now, I don't have that much time to sleep anyway!

Tina- I'm so glad you got a fill. And Dr. Baggs is right, it's so important for all of us pre-ops to hear the good, the bad and the ugly of post-op life. It's vital that we know what we're getting in to. How can we really have informed consent if we don't know about post-op struggles? Spent a good 12 hours on the house today. Got most of the house painted. It's exhausting. My whole body hurts. I can't wait to be moved in! I haven't had time to exercise all week, but I keep getting 10,000+ steps each day. Hope you all have a lovely mother's day with your Mom/Kids etc.

We're painting the house today. Stayed up till 1:30 getting everything ready, and there's still more to do this am. So tired, this weekend isn't going to be restful, and we're hoping to be moving in next weekend. I'm going to be exhausted continuously for 3 whole weeks. Not great, now I understand why they say moving is one of the top stressful events in a person's life... You're sleep deprived for weeks, and the strange toll it takes on your body. Up the ladder, down the ladder, move the ladder, repeate. Taping baseboards is a pain in the a**, literally. New puppy is super cute, he's so proud of himself when he jumps on the couch. I'm less than amused. So, painting/packing/moving and training a new puppy. GO ME! Hope you're all doing well!

Howdy Folks! Not much time to post tonight. We got a new puppy today! Yay! He's pretty darn cute. I'll post pics soon. 'Night!
  19. It's my understanding that if you're having gall attacks, you need that out, heal and then have lap band. If you've had no gallbladder symptoms but they notice something wrong with it while they're in there for lap band they'll take it at that time. If you're having trouble with that pesky gallbladder, you're most likely going to wait for your band.

Morning all! Happy Birthday Candra! Pat, I noticed in your yard you have a plant trained on a trellis or wires or something, was that a fruit tree? I'm paying so much more attention to people's landscaping nowadays! Wishing everyone a day of good, healthy choices! And Coco- I'm glad you're up there safe! We want to see pictures. And I'm now picturing Robbie with you on his back, up in the trees. Lol.

Any chance you'll have help with the kids? You're not going to be able to lift either child for a while. Talk to your surgeon about lifting restrictions after surgery. Even something like your child sitting on your lap is going to be difficult... those little elbows will get you right in the port, it's magnetic or something!

Sherri- Welcome! All the docs to the sleeve at Richmond, and your prefered surgery doesn't have anything to do with your surgery date. That all depends on your pre-op weight loss and the timing of appts. Ash- Congrats on the surgery date! Chrissy- You go girl! I'm so excited for you. Ali- Hope you're not in pain with freaky dreams for much longer! I lost 4 lbs this week. That's what I like to see!

Ashley- Thanks for the clothes! I tried on the maxi dress, and I know what you mean! It's a bit tight in the midsection... lol. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Donna- You're wonderful, but you know that! Pam- I'm glad you came! We should get together and walk again soon. Chrissy- You're awesome. I know you're gonna get those 3 lbs off. Hell, they're probably gone already! April- I had a great time talking with you today, I can't wait to go bounce for your bday! Nicole- Ah coco... I adore you girl! But I'll see you Tuesday and haul that fridge away. lol. Congrats to Christine! I know the last thing on your mind is checking lbt but Congrats on your new arrival!
