  1. Hey Sweetie,

Not sure if you sign on much anymore but I'm always thinking of you and wondering how your pregnancy is going. I'm sending you good thoughts!!!

  2. It's ON!!! I need something to get me off my butt. This cold weather in florida has been throwing me off my game. This morning I told my husband I want to loose 25 lbs by my birthday...St. Patty's day. So I've signed up for a 5k a month until then to keep me focused. But my first mini goal is into wonderland....SEE YOU THERE!

  3. Hi Colleen,

I wanted to check and see how you were doing? Did you make your 20 lbs by Christmas? I've set a new goal for myself...20 lbs by March.

  4. I just looked at your pics today. I'm always commenting about your avatar. I always read your answers because you give such great advice. I was banded in August and have lost 30 lbs. but have been stuck for about the last month at the same weight. It's killing me I'm at 203 and every time I step on the scale I'm ready to throw it out the window. I've stepped up the work outs trying to get under 200 and it's just not happening. I read some of your post on running. I have bad knees (several knee surguries on both) and I'm trying to go slowly. I feel like an idiot on the treadmill at the gym jogging so slowly. I'm sure everyone is like get up and run but I keep telling myself what i read on one of your post...start slow and move up slowly and you avoided injury. Any other advice? I've been jogging/walking 2 miles M, W, F and doing 20 min on the eliptical bike and the machines on T, Th, S.

  5. You look amazing! I love the picture of you doing the handstand on the beach. On days when I'm not lovin the band I always know that I can read your blog and laugh. We are both so close to going under 200...and secretly I'm competing against you. You always average more weight loss than me. I'm lucky if I get a lb a week. And I am determined not to let you beat me to 199. I'm sitting at 205. I got the wii for christmas and I'm starting it tonight in addition to my regular cardio in an effort to kick it up. Good luck to you!

  6. Hi Colleen,

Wow your first fill. I just had my 2nd one last week. Both were only small fills. The first one I didn't have any trouble eating and could still eat really anything just smaller amounts but this one is tighter. I've been trying to kick it into gear for my sons 3rd birthday party. I'm down 21lbs since surgery 8/18. I started really exercising about 3 weeks ago and have spend the last week under 20 carbs a day...Then today i weight myself and gained 2.5 lbs. I seem to do better when I don't watch my carbs. I'm hoping to also loose 20 by xmas. Let's keep in touch on the progress.

    Have a great Halloween!

    Beth

  7. I have really good restriction and don't think right now I would want to be any tighter. Of course, give it another week and I'll change that story. I I have completely stuck to the low carbs and been charting my food intake. Less than 20 carbs per day this week. Jog/Walk 2 miles on M, W and F and walk 2 miles on Tues and Thurs. I've been doing this routine for 3 weeks now. So I figured this morning I would get on the scale and see how this hard work is paying off. I was up 2.5 lbs. I just sat on the floor and cried. Since having my surgery I've not really done the low carb thing just watched what I ate. I'm hoping that it's muscle but it is making today tough. I'm doing a 5k next saturday so I'm going to stay focused.

I hope your pregnancy gets better. I struggled so much with my second one but I can say once she arrived it was such a blessing. She's so special and she was worth all the depressing thought and morning sickness! Have a good halloween!

  8. I remember those does in the pregnancy. The first trimester is the worse...all the flood of hormones and it takes a while for your body to adjust. I didn't show much with my first but with #2 I did immediately.

  9. Hi there...I was just thinking about you. How's the pregnancy progressing? I just went in for another fill - lost 8lbs during the last month so I got a little fill. The swelling from the fill really sucked so the first 4 days I was really sick. But I'm doing much better today. I'm trying desperately to loose as much as possible before Nov 8. It's my son's 3rd birthday party. Hope everything is going really well for you!!!

  10. Hi...what have you been doing in order to loose the weight. You and I were banded 2 days apart but I've only lost 17 lbs.

  11. Hi,

I saw your blog today and that you went to Dr. Baptista. I had my surgery by him on 8/12. I know i'm not loosing as quickly as he would like but i've lost 19 lbs so far and I'm happy with that number. I'd love to hear your experience and if you follow the low carb diet.

  12. I'm doing good. I've gone almost a whole week without weighing myself. Although this hasn't been the greatest week. It was my husband's birthday so it was me taking him to dinner and then dinner with friends so i ate things that weren't carb friendly. So I'm sure I didn't loose anything. How are you? Hope everything is going good for you? How's the morning sickness? I hope it's getting better for you.

  13. Yes Monday will be 2 months. I can't believe how time has flown since having my surgery. I'm not loosing as quickly as some people so I have to keep telling myself it will come. I've lost 16 pounds pre and post. But I know I need to get off my butt and start exercising more. Keep up the great work and I know you'll reach your goal in 4 days!

  14. Love Love Love your blog! You've done a great job with your weightloss and you give me such great inspiration!

  15. WOW!!! how exciting for you! At least you waited a bit in between the 1st and 2nd one. Mine was 4 months old when I got pregnant with #2. I know what you mean about the morning sickness. With both I was sick all day throughout the entire pregnancy. My little one's are great well other than a touch of stomach bug. I've been loosing ok since my 1st fill. I tried to stay off the scale but just couldn't. I've lost 6 lbs since the fill 10 days ago. I know it's not as much as other people but I've been struggling with the exercise. With both kids sick with the stomach virus for the last 2 weeks I've been up alot changing them during the night. But I'm hoping they will settle down so I can get back at it. Congrats again on the baby. I'm assuming it's happy news!

  16. Wow I'm really sorry about the car accident. I hope you are recovering. I'm with you on not having the baby in the car. It was the first thing I thought of when I heard. Things with the job have gotten much better they have extended my contract yesterday so I'm hoping to get back to basics. I had my first fill and I am still able to eat almost anything just much smaller portions. It's been a week today and I promised the doc I wouldn't weigh myself until I go back so I have no idea how I'm doing. How are you doing? Did your weight loss stall with the accident?

  17. i read on someone's page that you had been in a car accident...are you ok? Hope everything is going well with you.

  18. wow you look great. I was banded by Dr. Baptista 6 weeks ago and am not really loosing weight yet. What is your secret to success? Do you follow the 30 carbs everyday?

  19. Thank you for your encouraging words. I am trying to stay focused and I'm just taking it one meal at a time. I can't even do one day at a time but I figure small steps will get me there. I have gotten back down to what I was at one week post op so I'm happy at least about that. I don't have a fill until the 24th but I think I'm going to call them and see if I can move it up any. Don't know if they will but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. I'm getting better with the job situation I've had 3 interviews with different companies and I'm sure something will turn around. I know you had some advice about the first fill appointment but I couldn't remember what it was. Can you share that again?

  20. Hey there! Well I wish I had good news for you but I don't. I had initally lost 10lbs but have gained 6 of those back. It's been a very stressful time since my surgery. I was laid off in December finally found a job in May and now just found out that I'm being laid off from this job October 1. So I've been stressed and depressed which is a bad combination when it comes to dieting. And then of course, we had unexpected company for the last 10 days and it meant going out to eat alot so I haven't made the best choices. I feel really good physically just a little sore every once in a while when I do to much with the kids but I'm so bummed out about not loosing weight that it makes me want to eat more. Everyone is leaving on Tuesday so I'm really hoping I can get back to basics before I have to go in on the 24th to see Dr B. Of course, I'm really nervous about that appointment and hearing his disappointment. Hope you are doing well and I can't wait to see more pics.

  21. Wow that's awesome! I had surgery two weeks ago and I'm just starting to feel like my old self again. That's so exciting about hitting onderland. I have 22 more lbs to go to get there. Are you sticking to the low carb diet? I'm on regular foods now and found it hard this weekend to stick to low carb when i was on the run with the kids. Luckily I could barely eat anything so I didn't do too bad.

  22. Hi,

I am in Jacksonville Fl, I was banded last week. Do you do any kind of special diet to loose the weight or are you just eating less?

  23. Thanks! I'm doing pretty good. Starting to get my energy back. I went back to work the day after my surgery so I was going to bed at 8 every night. Last night was the first night I could stay up past 8 so I think that's a great sign. I start mushies today which is so exciting I'm sure that will really boost my energy back. I'm healing nicely. When I went to the doctor I had lost 10 lbs since my pre-op visit. So not as much as I wanted but I can't complain with 10 lbs in 2 weeks. But of course with starting mushies I'm sure I'll gain some back. But it also means I'm one step closer to being able to exercise. When did you start exercising? How was your last fill? Did you get one/ need one? I finally went out and saw your pictures. You can tell you've lost some weight! I'm sure it's harder for people who live with you to notice because they see you everyday.

  24. You and I are in almost the exact same situation. I was banded on Aug 18th weight 226 on the day of surgery and have lost 10 lbs since. I've just started mushies today and am worried that I'll gain some of the 10 back. My doctor is happy with the progress but when I read other people's stories and their weight loss i get discouraged.

  25. hey,

everything went well. He said I was a super trooper. Of course, I didn't feel that way because I got sick from the anesthesia and spent until 6 p.m. vomiting until we finally got it under control. i'm doing ok. I'm actually back at work today. I work from home on a computer so it's not like it's a tough job. I could take time off but since I'm a contractor I don't get paid for time off so I figured sitting at my computer was just as easy as sitting around the house. I'm planning on ending my day at 4 and going to take a nap before I have to start the 6p.m. feeding, bath and bed time routines for the kids. Hopefully I can make it until 4. I'm not in a lot of pain just mostly sore. He put my port right above my belly button so the worst thing is standing up straight. I haven't gotten that concept down yet. I'm sure it will get better with each day. I'm waiting on your pictures did you update them yet?
