  1. I am SUPER excited!!! I was shocked at how quickly the insurance approved it and it was scheduled. I go tomorrow for my pre-op at the hospital and Wednesday for my pre-op with Dr. B. I can't believe it's only a week away. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. My husband and I are going out for steak on Thursday to celebrate. I told him it's probably the last time I can have steak. I don't have to start my pre-op diet until Wednesday but I figured I would go ahead and start today. Kick off the week right. The low carb part isn't that hard for me so this week should be a piece of cake. Of course, the liquid part will probably be a bit tough. I have to get my grocery list together. Any suggestions on food? You are such a wonderful support and just knowing your success keeps me motivated. You know when I read people on here who are months out and only lost 5lbs i get discouraged. But I'm trying to stay focused on this is going to work!

    Tricare approved

Who's doing your surgery? I'm being banded on 8/18 by Dr. Baptista.
  3. Hi hope things are going well after your 2nd fill. The office called today and I was approved and the surgery is scheduled for Aug 18th. I am so excited. I can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away!

  4. Wow that's outstanding that you lost 5 more lbs. They submitted the paperwork to the insurance yesterday. There was a hold up...didn't have one of my weight checks...which was so frustrating since i hand carried them all into the office and had them verify it when i gave it to them. So that delayed things about a week. According to them Aetna usually takes 2-4 weeks to respond. Which totally bums me out...I wanted the surgery in August but it looks like it will be September at the earliest. Keep me posted on your progress.

  5. hi,

I'm from Jacksonville, who did your surgery? You look amazing! Keep up the good work.

  6. Hey Teresa,

I just had my second visit with Dr. B. and they have everything they need to submit to insurance. They said it usually takes about a week to get it submitted and then however long insurance takes. Of course, I'll be sitting on pins and needles because I just want to get this scheduled. I can't wait to hear how your second fill goes.

  7. Hey,

i just wanted to check in with you and see how things are going. I go for my second visit today with Dr. B and hopefully they will have everything they need to submit for insurance. So hopefully I can get this surgery done soon.

  8. Hi I saw you were from Florida. I'm in Jax.

    Unbelievable!

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I haven't been banded yet but I've found the site very helpful on getting answers to questions. If you send me your questions I could try and answer with the knowledge i've gained on the site.
  10. yeah that's what they told me probably 14 days which puts me the second week of August and then 2-3 weeks to schedule. I was so hoping for an August surgery date but it looks like it might be Sept. That part is hard for me...I just want to get started.

I also have one who is in the terrible 2's and my 17month old is following in big brothers footsteps and doing the same thing...so twice the fun!

  11. Hey,

I'm not doing too bad. I go next Wednesday for my 2nd appointment with Dr. B. and then submit the insurance paperwork...hopefully it won't take long to get approved. The kiddo's are doing great. How are you doing? and how is your little girl? How's the weight loss after your 1st fill?

    Now Things Are Getting Serious

well I can't speak for anyone but myself but I wasn't offended. It was like reading a blog that I would have written for myself. I am in that final stage. We will be submitting my paperwork for insurance approval next week and I find myself sabotoging anything that has to do with the surgery. Good luck on your journey.
  13. Well that's terrible that your weight loss slowed but amazing that you lost 10 lbs. I haven't started any type of diet yet because I am right at the border line and can't loose any more weight before getting insurance approval. I'm really anxious for that to happen so I can begin the process. Our 4th was great...hope your's was as well.

  14. Wow congrats! How do you do it? I will hopefully get banded in August and am looking for some post banding advice.
  15. Hey,

Haven't talked to you in a while and I wanted to see how you are doing. How did you do after your first fill? I'm scheduled with Dr. B on July 22nd then submission to insurance so I'm hoping it won't be much longer.

    Anyone in Jax?

I went to Dr. Webb and the Novus Group initially but then switched over to Dr. Baptista and Dr. Cwyes group. I really love them. I've had two appointments with them and they've been really supportive and helpful. I didn't have such a great experience with Novus Group and if you want to Private Message me I can give you the details. The other two ladies I'm friends with on LBT also went to Dr. B and Dr. C. They have both had great experiences with them and that's what made me switch.

    Anyone in Jax?

Hi, I haven't been banded yet but I'm in the process. There are a couple of people on this site that went to the same group of doctors I'm seeing and have recently been banded.
  18. Hi, I'm not banded yet but I'm scheduled in August. I read a post yesterday from a bandster who was banded a couple of years ago and recently changed insurance and found out she's not covered for anything. Obviously, now my husband and I are re-thinking having the procedure we both work in jobs where our insurance changes every couple of years and I'm worried I wouldn't be covered if something happened and I needed the band removed (god forbid). Has anyone experienced this?
  19. BethL

    insurance changed - now what???

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you but this really concerns me. I'm not scheduled yet for surgery and now i'm re-thinking it because of this.
  20. I'm doing a 3 month multi disciplinary program. It seems like it's just dragging on. I know it's because I've already made the decision and feel like the years of obesity should be enough but you must jump through hoops. Mine will be done on July 22nd and then we submit the paperwork so I'm hoping for an August surgery. I just keep telling myself hopefully in 5 or 6 weeks I'll have a date.

    Woo Hoo....I am approved!!!

That's so exciting! I have Aetna PPO and will be finishing my 3 month supervised diet on July 9th. I'm looking forward to getting my surgery date.
  23. It's the trainer that I went to for Dr. C and Dr. B. she charges between $75 and $125 for an hour depending on what side of town your on. She also trains at the center for $30 1/2 hour.

  24. how long did it take to get the approval. I go for my second surgeon visit on July 22nd and they will be turning in my paperwork that day.

I went to Dr. Webb initially through the Novus Center. I didn't like Novus so I switched to Dr. Baptista.
