    Cruising soon...

Walmart.com: Hamilton Beach Deluxe Chopper 72340: Appliances This is the link to the chopper. I use it to make the meat very finely chopped as I have had one stuck episode and NEVER want to deal with that again. I just had my 3rd fill, have reached restriction, and the chopper helps a lot.
  2. I just had my 3rd fill on Friday, and today is my first day back on foods. 1 day liquid, 1 day mushie. My food today is mostly mushie but that is because I do not want to push it. I finely chopped 3 oz of chicken breast, and mixed with sugar free applesauce, it was really good. Went down easy, and so far 2 hours later I am still full. I am drinking my protein shake through out the day, so by the time I finish it, with the protein count htat was in the chicken i will have 72 grams in for the day. YAHOO. and still have lunch and dinner to go.

    Cruising soon...

Thanks, I have no problem with telling people that I have the band. I just want to make sure I have a great time, and not get a stuck issue. I have had one, and NEVER want to experience that ever again. I will be taking my chopper, and if people don't like it, they can deal with it. Probably won't do the buffet much, as I do enjoy the dining room. My boyfriend and my cousin, are both aware of my issues, and if we have a table for 2, no big deal, if we have a larger table, I will still chop.

Do you wish you had a bypass?

I am 16 weeks out as of today. I started at 254 and am as of last months doc visit down to 224, and I go back to the doc this Friday for my 3rd adjustment, I do not know how much if any I have lost this month as I do not own a scale. My exercise right now consists of walking the dog 1 mile a day, and that is about it, that that is me. I am getting a bike as soon as i can and i will be riding it, I am also as soon as I can afford it getting an above ground pool and will do water aerobics. We do not have a gym out here in the boon docks where i live, and it is 25 miles one way to a curves or anything, so I won't be doing that. I am watching what eat, eating what the plan says I can have, and once a week I do have my 1/8 of a baked potato, other than that I am on plan all the way. The band is working as it is supposed to, because I am workign the band the way I am supposed to. 2.5 lbs a week is my average loss, and I get to be surprised each time I go to the doc to see what it is. My 3rd fill will hopefully get me to my sweet spot, I am at 6.75 in a 10cc band right now after 2 fills, I have 2 cruises coming up, and i am very excited for them. I have bought 2 new bathing suits and have gone from a 22 to a 16/18 I am psyched.

    Food glorious food!!

The baked potato has always tasted better with butter and sour cream and cheese, but now i just use a dab of sour cream and a pinch of cheese, it tastes just as good, but i only eat 1/4 of 1/2 a potato now, so what that like 1/8th. Such a small amount, but enough for a taste.

    Kinda Down =/

I had my band inserted on 6/9, so far have had 2 fills for a total of 6.75cc and have my 3rd adjustment on Friday. I can't wait. I don't own a scale so unsure of my weight loss at this point, other than I was down 34 lbs last month at my 2nd fill. I am so excited about my band, and the way it works. Of course everyone tells me I am not eating enough now. OH WELL... I am eating what I have to in order to stay healthy, it is what you eat, not the amount you eat of it.

    dinner was good

Heat in the oven, I put in the toaster oven. It says on the box do not microwave as it has not been pre-cooked. Takes 28 minutes too cook, and was actually good. I am going to figure out if I can make it on my own now, that I have tried it their way. They are in the frozen meat case, near the regular meat. I did eat the whole thing tonight, along with 1 serving of a small can of peas/carrots. I am due for my 3rd band adjustment on Friday and will be happy when I can't eat as much anymore.

    OMG! A Yummy Snack:)

any time i purchase in bulk, i measure out servings in snack size zip lock bags. Same thing when i made my chili or spag sauce or sheperds pie, I pack away in 1/2 cup and 1 cup serving containers, i have so many of them now, seems I buy a pack each time i go to the store. Made my chili yesterday and my sheperds pie today, now I just have to take them out and pop them in the microwave and ready to eat.

    For Women- Underwire Bras

didn't leave the house for almost a week, so didn't worry about a bra at all, when I did leave the house, tank with a brashelf under my shirt was the deal, nothing tight. of course i hate bra's to begin with.
  11. 35 lbs with 2 fills. Next fill is October 1. Had surgery on 6/9, first fill on 7/27 and 2nd fill on 8/28. Was going for 9/29 to keep up the trend, but I have to work that day instead. My first fill was 4.25cc and 2nd was 1.5cc so I am sitting at 6.75cc in a 10cc band. I am starting to eat more again, 1 - 1 1/2 cups at a meal, so I know it is time for another fill. I must admit I do love the weight loss. I have had to buy a new bathing suit, and have gone from a 22/24 to a 18/20 so far with my clothes. 2 cruises coming up, 1 October 26 for 4 nights and one November 14 for 7 nights. My October 1 fill will be the last until right after Christmas, so that I can get 1 more before the year ends.

    Good scar excuses?

My gall bladder was removed when I was 24, 5 weeks after I had my 3rd child. My lap band scars are in almost the same exact spots. HOWEVER... I would be honest with this person. IF you care enough to let him/her see you naked, you should care enough to be honest.

    Discouraged

Average weight loss at restriction is 1-2 lbs a wee. You are already there at 4 weeks and 10 lbs. Your doing great. Until you hit your happy spot with restriction you will be eating more times with smaller meals to get you full. I am 12 weeks post op, 30 lbs lost and after 2 fills have 6.75 in my 10 cc band.
  14. thinneranniesoon

    is there a such thing?

    yes ask your doctor

    is there a such thing?

  16. So, band was left empty after surgery on June 9. July 27, first fill 4.25cc. Was great for a week, then all hunger was back in full force, I would eat, mostly protein, and 1-2 hours later hungry again. August 28, 2nd fill 2.5cc, which now puts me at 6.75cc in a 10cc band. Yahoo.. OMG went to IKEA today, ordered the Kids Swedish Meatballs. It comes with 5 1 inch meatballs, mashed potatoes and applesauce. I ate 4 of the meatballs, just dabbed in the applesauce for juiciness and flavoring. Ate 2 little bites of the mashed potatoes, and I was STUFFED. Here it is now 9 hours later, and I am still full. I have been sipping my protein liquids all day, bullet with water and crystal lite, and i know I need to eat something, because it is way past dinner time, but I just don't know. WOW, If this is what restriction is like... I LOVE IT.

    2nd Fill yesterday

today i ate 1 scrambled egg for breakfast, had 1/4 of a grilled chicken breast for lunch, and 1/2 a yogurt at dinner time. i am so stuffed, and am really feeling the restriction now.
  18. I am now 223, I am an XL or 18/20 pants, and same for tops. Looking forward to it going further down. When I had surgery 30 lbs ago, I was a 2x in everything, and when converted to numbers was pushing a 22/24.

Anyone lose friends after Lap Band?

K and I have been friends for 15 years. She knews that she can pick up the phone and call if she needs something and I will be there. I can remember when she was having problems with cramps, and I would drive across town bringing the pain patches that heat up, because she could not get off the couch to go to the store. I would pick up her son from school, fix dinner or just keep company. Fast forward, I started dating her brother n law last year, now we are living together, so now we are closer to family than we have been for 15 years. My kids have always called her aunt K, and we have always done things together. I had my band put in on June 9, I did talk to her about it before hand, because I know that people do tend to lose friends, and I told her I really hope that doesn't happen. She does have diabetes, but continues to eat pasta, bread, potatoes, chips, and whatever as well as drink quite a bit. Lucky for her so far the diabetes goes, she isnt having to have insulin shots yet. Wel i had my surgery and I have seen her about 4 times since then. Of course I moved a month ago, but we will see how things are this weekend. I am going back to town, and will be with her both Friday evening and saturday. I really hope things don't change much. I know I am down 20+ lbs, I just don't know exactly how many as I do not own a scale, but I have a doc appt for an adjustment tomorrow, so we will see.

    A narrowing?!

Actually, I would as a parent be there for my child, who would be coming to me with all of this instead of serial posting on a message board. I would also as a parent, be taking matters in control and taking her to the hospital to get help, instead of watching this unfold day after day. I would also be finding another doctor that would see her, even if it meant driving 100 or more miles away to do so. Yes she is 18, but yes she made the decision to have this surgery, however I have to question the parents in this situation that are not helping. I mean come on, I want to tell them at school, but I don't want to tell them at school. Do I have narrowing, do I have a fill already, do I eat macaroni and cheese, please, it as only been a few weeks, give yourself time to heal.
  21. hypochondria (hī'pəkŏn`drēə), in psychology, a disorder characterized by an exaggeration of imagined or negligible physical ailment. The hypochondriac fears that such minor symptoms indicate a serious disease, and tends to be self-centered and socially withdrawn. Continually seeking professional help to reinforce his fears, the hypochondriac never feels he is receiving adequate care. Contemporary theorists have arrived at similar conclusions, suggesting that the physical ailments of hypochondriacs were a form of escape from psychological stress. The disorder is technically known as hypochondriasis, and is classified as a somatoform disorder, or one in which a psychological problem manifests itself in a physical ailment.

    A narrowing?!

I know that this is going to sound rude, BUT here it goes anyway. Instead of sitting at your computer whining about this minute after minute, get your ass up and go to the ER. You stated earlier in this thread that the nurse told you to do so, so DO IT. Tell them what is going on and they will help you. They can do a scope to see if you have narrowed. They can do an unfill if necessary, they can tell you what is going on, and you don't have to keep posting for the next week what every little thing you might think it is. Honestly its beginning to sound like hypochondria. And so that you don't have to start another thread asking what that is, her is the definition a disorder characterized by an exaggeration of imagined or negligible physical ailment. The hypochondriac fears that such minor symptoms indicate a serious disease, and tends to be self-centered and socially withdrawn. For the Live Alone Bandsters...

While my food bill itself has improved, my eating out bill has all but ended, I am now spending that money on protein and vitamins and the supplements to make the protein more tolerable. I am of course finding that food that would normally be 1 or 2 meals are now enough for 4 or 5 meals, which is great. I made chili over the weekend, I made the same as I would normally make, which would be for 4 persons 1 meal, well it turned into one meal for my boyfriend and 6 meals for me, as I have started packing things like that in 1 cup freezer containers, so I can freeze them and take out later and just stick in the microwave to reheat. Same with spag sauce, Gotta love my freezer containers.

Who Wants To Share Some Recent NSVs??

i pulled out a pair of pants on sunday as i needed something nice to wear to pick my daughter up at the airport and they FiT, and they were a little big. I hugged my daughter at the airport and she was able to put both arms around me and clasp her hands, she was happy. At dinner I ordered my food, we were at a sports bar, I ordered cheeseburger, no bun, and mashed potatoes instead of fries. ate 1/3 of the burger and 3 bites of the potatoes. My daughter took the rest back to school with her for dinner. Once aupon a time agao i would have eaten it all, but had french fries instead of mashed potatoes.

    This Freakin band is working

Wow, I had my band installed on 6/9/09. My first adjustment was on 7/27 my band was empty and it was then filled with 4.25cc. That was great for the first week or so. Now i am back to eating like normal, my next fill is Friday 8/28, hoping to go to 6cc this time. I lost 5 lbs preop, and 20 lbs before at first fill. I am not sure now about a loss since as I do not own a scale. My daughters room mate in college has one, and i got on it the other day, and it had me up 2 lbs since last month, I was not thrilled with that. BUT, it is not the same scale i have been weighing on since April, so who knows. i will find out Friday, and not be upset until then. i am hoping to get some restriction. My daughter who hasn't seen me since the end of July said she noticed a difference, and my clothes, most of them feel a bit more loose. i did wear a pair of pants on Sunday that I have't worn since December, when they were given to me by a friend who had RNY last year. So I was happy about that. here is hoping that all our bands work, and we all work our bands.
