80 lbs already lost and still losing
Malaika replied to KathyG's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
WOW - that's fantastic. Way to go. -
Is she "pampered" like you? Think Dr. Aceves can handle it? (Sorry, just couldn't resist - hope you don't mind)
-
I haven't been able to drink any of them just on their own. Too much of an aftertaste
-
Sounds yummy ... I'll give it a try when I'm on full liquids ... I have the EAS Vanilla and it's great in smoothies and such ... not so good on it's own though.

I checked that book out - I don't like it - not going to order it. I love fruits and veggies and I think between my knowledge and this site, I'll figure out what works best for me and go with it. Thanks! -
Anyone want to meet in the chat room?
Malaika replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Okay I went in to CHAT - got a big white box - nothing more - wouldn't allow me to type ... what am I doing wrong? -
That's what I meant - that is the page I had bookmarked to check out. Thanks WASa

Maybe I'll try that one and if I don't like it I'll mix it with the mxed berry Jell-O and make more shooters

This from the same lady that said by the 22nd dirty bathwater would sound appealing. -
Sleeve vs. Lap Band

LOL ... you're too funny. And here I was sitting watching Bob eat a nice big fresh salad and wishing I could have one too -- I LOVE salads -
I have always heard that your smell/taste are connected. That lean dessert must have a strong aftertaste for you to even notice that it has a taste at all. Try the syrups - it totally kicked the aftertaste of the MRM Protein powder I bought.
-
Well I don't know I just know it works -- the thing is, I have to take it at like 7 for it to kick in my 11 and most times I forget ... I'll remember tonight though because I'm really tired

I've never been in a chat room before but heck, I'm game ... -
Smart girl - I never even thought of that. I did buy some liquid vitamins; however Dr. A told me to wait until I'm on solid foods to start back with the vitamins.
-
Yes, and I can also go to the state medical board -- I'll check that out at work tomorrow as I don't have the link with me here at home ... I'll find someone that sounds good and convincing
-
I am going to try Tylenol PM tonight - that generally does the trick for me. I need to get some sleep because I am going back to work tomorrow and need to be able to function.

And there is no aftertaste or it doesn't change the taste of what you add it to either? It is GNC's own brand?

Thinking of using Dr. Aceves in Mexico
Malaika replied to shanda7182's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I speak very little - not enough to survive on my own that's for sure. I should take lessons as we have a lot of spanish-speaking clients. Luckily, there are 2 attorneys and 2 support staff in our office that are fluent. -
Good lord, after taking all of that how do you have any room for anything else? Before the surgery I was taking coq10, flaxseed, EsterC and magnesium (which I DEFINITELY do not need right now). I quit taking them all before surgery; however, I would like to get back on them eventually ... it's good to know that is possible.
-
I was going to buy some but the smallest package they had was $17 ... I may just order some from Syntrax when I order the nectar since I can't find it here anywhere Why do you have no sense of smell? You can take some of mine as it's become extra sensitive since the surgery.

Thinking of using Dr. Aceves in Mexico

Sergio was so great! Where was that mall? We didn't venture too far from the Resort but if we go back down, I'd like to explore the town more. Seeing things in Peso makes it look so expensive ... I just generally divide it by 10 to get a USD price; although when I was there, the exchange rate was 12 pesos to 1 USD. -
Is it REALLY totally unflavored though? When I was in there, I asked for unflavored why protein that was really unflavored and the guy said "welllllllll, there really isn't such a thing"
-
WOW Denise you have been through a lot in your life ... I hope all the bad is behind you and nothing but great things in store for you. Do you take any Vitamins?
-
This was from a bottle. I bought 3 - one grape, one lemon tea, one ice raspberry. The grape was tolerable; however, I poured the tea down the drain and used the other with the raspberry Jello. I didn't think I was all that picky; however, lots of things just taste down right nasty to me and that may be because of the surgery or anesthesia or both or it may just be that I'm pickier than I thought I was because I had more options to choose from.

Okay ladies (and gentlemen), I need some assistance. I am dealing with the clear liquids okay. I can get through the next 5 day of that -- what I don't think I can get through even one more day of is crushing my medication and mixing it with water ... every time I do that gag and it's all I can do to keep myself from throwing up. Any suggestions on how to get through the clear and full liquid stage and still be able to take my medication? I have to take my BP medicine, my nexium and my effexor (2x a day since I had to switch from the XR to the regular)? I'm hoping once I'm on mushies I can mix them with a bit of yogurt or applesauce and get them down that way ... Also, HOW LONG do I have to take them crushed? PLEASE HELP!!! I'm gagging here!
