Bearded keeps telling me that he can tell, too; however I still don't see it -- others at work have commented as well. I'll be happy when I can actually start to see it as well as others. Congrats again Jenn.

Great minds :lol0:

Thank goodness - too bad it's not tomorrow -- you definitely need to get something to help you sleep and not end up in the hospital from exhaustion.

Starting My VSG Journey. Surgery Aug. 11
Malaika replied to Jenn Shelton's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome Jenn - I agree with everyone else that the pre-op diet is generally to shrink your liver - not so much as to lose weight. -
Thanks for posting that Tiff -- I was just getting ready to pull up my email again!

Why no water with meals?

I heard #2 -
I've been craving roast beef, but wasn't sure I'd be able to get it down and keep it down ... maybe if I got it sliced really thin?
-
Congrats Tiff - - that's awesome Daisy - was it something you ate perhaps? Glad you're feeling better. Judy - so sorry for your loss and my prayers will be with you for your day tomorrow .. there is definitely a special place in heaven for you. Daisy - thanks for telling Bearded about the bread - he doesn't listen to me - what the heck do I know!

Reflections from a Fat Chick
Malaika replied to roseyandmusic's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
ROSEY - that's GREAT on the weight loss and I bet the hair looks soooooooooo cute ... you're going to have to post some pics very soon ... Bearded says "HI" and congrats on your weight loss to ... I'm so HAPPY for you, I truly am!!!! -
I am able to get those little cans of chicken or tuna down with a few reduced fat wheat thin crackers ... you can find them at the dollar stores sometimes and Target carries the tuna in 2 packs for like $2.49 - it comes with crackers and reduced calorie mayonnaise and relish. They're pretty good. I had chicken salad with sundried tomatoes and basil on crackers for lunch yesterday - it was good. I seem to do fine with lunch - however dinner is still a problem for me ... I'm almost to the point of I'll just eat lunch and drink dinner. My restriction in the morning doesn't allow me to eat anything - just drink warm things - until about 11 am - then after that I seem to be okay to eat lunch. It's weird and I get tired of trying to figure out what I can eat that will go down easily and stay down. Good luck on your transition to mushies and/or solids.

I think alien spit is a very appropriate name for it!

Thanks so much for sharing that Mac, I REALLY needed to hear it because I am so frustrated and so fighting depression and wishing I'd never had this surgery ... Bearded appreciated hearing it too.

Welcome Cheri - don't hesitate to ask any question that comes to mind - one or more of us will have an answer -- or a suggestion -- we're here to help one another. Welcome to the sleeve family!
-
Congratulations! Best thing I can recommend is follow the pre-op and post-op diets to a T!

That's FANTASTIC ... :biggrin0::party4::biggrin0:

Onederland - out of the 200 lbs. into the 100 lbs. (not sure what that is in kgs.)

Awesome Linda -- you will be in our thoughts and prayers -- God is with you and with Dr. Aceves - you will come through with flying colors! Look at the painting that is right inside the main nurses station before you go into the wing where Dr. Aceves' patients are - that says it all. It's also posted in my photos - Keep in touch as soon as you're able!

I was told not to lift anything over 15 lbs. for the first 6 weeks, so if your baby is only 6 months old, I doubt he weights over 15 lbs. so you should be good to go after surgery.

I hate to cook - I tell everyone I only have a kitchen because it came with the condo ... now that I can't eat anything, I hate the thought of cooking even more - it's not worth the effort

how do you keep your vitamins down?
Malaika replied to ash's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to take mine with yogurt or applesauce and had to cut them into small pieces in order to be able to do so. Sorry you're having problems with your incision - you might want to get that checked out if it doesn't close up soon. -
Haven't lost any more weight since the initial 1 week post-op
Malaika replied to susimar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gee, imagine that - rustic camping with 8 kids ... I remember rustic camping with 2 kids and it at times was not much fun either! Can't imagine 4 x as many children. -
hello! For those of you who had surgery in mexico how did you................
Malaika replied to ryansgirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Say it enough and you'll begin to believe it! -
I wish I could be of help; however what works for me one day, doesn't seem to work for me the next -- I'm still struggling to get in my protein and fluids and I'm 6 weeks out ... I keep thinking every morning when I get up that today is going to be the day that I quit having problems...and then I find out it's not ... it's quite frustrating and I wonder how much longer this is going to last.
