  1. Howdy,

I could not help but notice that your start weight is REALLY close to my weight now. I am still in the process of getting my band. I hope to have it within a few months. I also notice you are from Yulee, I have some friend that moved to GA. from Yulee a few years back. Yulee is just not an everyday name. Best of luck to you. Please keep posting pics.

BTW - Did I read your tickler correctly -- Are you in ONEderland??

  2. OK! I just though I would check in on you and read the "I"M PREGNANT" part. Congrats to you. I know you must be excited. I'm sure the initial shock was hard. Just remember, you know how to get any weight you might gain back off. You can do this.

    :) Amanda

  3. I will not know anything back from them for a few more day.

My tummy is fine from the band, but my neck hurts soooo bad. I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

Well sorry to be complaining so much. Guess my good news is my band is great. I got to move to full liquids today. What was your post-op diet?

How are you and your little ones? Hope all is well. <3 ya, Amanda

  4. Yeah!!! You Go Girl. I have not been in ONEderland since I was about 12ish.

Thank you for the pic comments. I have a thing for Black bears. I would love to take you up on the help and support. I have lots of question. HaHa

Here is my first question -- Does the band help you adjust mentally as well as physically?

Wanting to eat just to eat / having craving / etc..

    Thanks again - Amanda

  5. Hey Girlfriend,

I am in the club now. Everything went great getting my band. Dr. Duncan and his team are absolutely the best.

However, on my initial visit with Dr. Duncan he kept looking at my throat when I was talking. Before I left his office he felt of my neck and asked my to go get an ultra sound of my thyroids done. I actually did this on the Wednesday before my surgery on Monday. Anyway, after my surgery he said he wanted me to go and have a FNA ultrasound done because he found 2 large mass on my thyroids. Lucky me!! This was the worst thing I have every been through. They put me on a table with my head tilted back as far as it would go and stuck 9 needles in my neck. 2 of the needles was lidacaine, but that only numbed the skin area. The doctor (it was not Dr. Duncan) sucked out some of the cells in the needles and sent them down to pathology for testing.

  6. Hey Girlie,

I just read your blog. I really like it. I am still trying to get me one started. Not really computer savy LOL. I seen you are from Ga. and wanted to shout to my neighbor. Best of luck and keep in touch. :) 4x4 Moma

  7. Hey lady, I just found where you posted asking me about Dr. Duncan. Have you already gotten your band?

If not I highly recommend Dr. Duncan. You do have to be patient with his office, because they stay very busy. But it is sooo worth the wait. I was banded 11/09/09 with him and it was a wonderful experience.

  8. Hey,

I seen we are going to be banded on the same day. I think a blog will be a great idea and I will do my best to get mine started soon. I am with you about the pre-op diet, however I started mine a week early and I have already lost 6lbs. That is motivation. Lets keep in touch. :) Amanda

  9. Hi sommerbrez,

I just noticed we are almost neighbors. I live in the big town of barnesville (you know-Gordon College). I have not had the band yet. Waiting for Dr. Duncans office to call and schedule. Who did you use? BTW you look great!

  10. Slow but steady. Due to the holidays I have to wait 2 months to get my first fill. Ugh!

If I can just maintain during Christmas I will be happy. :)

  11. Thanks for checking on me. Post-op from my band and going smooth. I made it to full liquids. YEAH!

I am having some issues with my thyroids. The doc had me get an ultra sound done and he found two large mass. So last Friday I had to go have the biopsied. That was ALOT of pain. Still weighting on the result. How are you? What is it like at the two month mark? Can't wait to hear from you. :)

  12. Wow! You look great. Keep up the good work.

    :) Amanda

  13. Hey lady, I am moving along very slow, but I am not complaining --- I am moving. I am down 35lbs. as of today.

I am very excited to hear from you. How are your babies? And How are you doing getting back on track after childbirth? Can't wait to see you post pics of you at goal.

  14. Hey photonut.

Why no pics on your profile?

Show off what you have accomplished. It helps newbes like me! :) Amanda

  15. Hi Audreysmommy.

I sure hope your surgery went well. Best of luck to you. :) Amanda

  16. Hi Inhisplan (Love the screen name)

I am set to have surgery on November 9th, just a few day after you. I am also around the same weight and have the same goal as you. Would you like to team up and go through this together? Amanda :)

  17. Hi Pampittman,

I am in Ga. and in the start of my lapband journey and was wondering who was you Doctor?. BTW You look great.

  18. Hope you are doing well. Walking throught the Atlanta Airport can be a pain by itself. Sorry you had to deal with it and gas pain. Do you still have anymore pains now? What do you think about your band so far? Sorry to be so nosey, just this waiting gets me nervous and I want to know ALL I can.

    Thanks Amanda :)

  19. I knew it was just too good to be true - I think I will always crave chocolate. I feel with my past experiences with diet, I will more than likely not get restriction right away either. Though I am not going to be negative.

Guess I will just have to see.

I did get GREAT news today. I call the doctor's office and found out that my name has been moved to the scheduling dept. Someone should contact me within one week with an appointment date. YEAH! Yippy !! Hooray!!. Now I can start to panic. Not about the surgery -- about being put to sleep. Oh well, I am not turning back now. Please keep me updated with you and share anything you learn along the way. Share your Tips of the Band. LOL ;)

  20. I was banded on Nov. 9th. This has been a slow process for me. I will not get my first fill until January 8th. The holiday season cause me to be delayed. Thats OK. I am excited about getting a fill. Right now I can eat ANYTHING I want and that is not good. Sometimes I forget I even have the band.

Thanks for the sweet complement. I can not wait until I can do a full body shot on my profile.

You look wonderful and you seem to be so outgoing and happy now. I am happy for you keep up the great work.

  21. Let me just say -

It is pictures like yours that get me geared up. I am still waiting for insurance approval. I pray one day I can tell a band story like you. You look wonderful. congrats. AMK

  22. Still Waiting. I have started bugging the doctors office daily now. I have completed everything pre-op and I am just waiting to be scheduled. I am also getting scared to death more and more daily. Please keep me post with update on how you are doing.

    Best of Luck AMANDA :)

  23. Thank you for posting your blog. Ever since I have decided this is what I am going to do I have searched for every piece of information I can find. I love this site and I love everyone who post a blog with their story. It is very comforting to hear what people who have had this done have to say.

I have not had the surgery. I am scheduled for November 9th. I am very excited. Please, Please pass on any information you can to me. I want to hear the good, bad and ugly. Is this what you expected? Best of luck to you. Amanda :)

  24. Thanks -- It is a happy Friday. Just got a call from my MD's Office and I will be notified of an appointment date within 1 week. YEAH!!!

    Happy Friday to you! ;)

  25. Thanks, You got some nerves I can borrow. LOL!!

I am really too excited to be nervous yet. How are you doing?

    Amanda:)
