Surgery Week of August 24th?
Anyone having surgery the week of August 24th and want to be surgery buddies? My surgery is August 26th. I would love a buddy. I can be on yahoo messenger all day at work (when I go back after two weeks) and can receive texts all day. For the two weeks after surgery I am available through email, messenger, and text so I can be an available buddy for support!

August Sleevers
I had mistyped. My husband had non weight loss surgery. I am just worried my support won't be there because he is kinda down for the count now. I just spent the day in the ER. We are home now and he is resting again. I have slept about 16 hours since 4 am Thursday. I am exausted but so tired I can't sleep and the minute I lie down something happens, he is in pain, he needs a drink, he needs pills, he is hungry, he is throwing up, he needs to pee, someone calls, someone comes to the door. Ugh. I am thinking of postponing my surgery. We will see how he does the next couple of days. I need him and I can't be trying to recover while worrying about him.

I feel like I'm leaping before looking.
Welcome Don! I feel the same way. My surgery is August 26th and sometimes I go back and forth in the same hour trying to decide if I am making the right decision. Be sure to visit the August support thread: http://verticalsleevetalk.com/2009-sleevers/567-august-sleevers-8.html#post10308

August Sleevers
Sorry I have not been around. My husband had non WL surgery on Thursday and had complications. He is home now and is going to be fine but the last few days have been hard. It was supposed to be routine and he was going home the same day but his body had other plans. He is supposed to be the one to help and stay with me at the hospital. I am not sure now. I might be going at this alone. :confused1:

Hi Guys! AJ - I am glad you are doing good! Do you think the little bit of pain when you sip is from the breathing tube or is it deeper and def in your stomach? WhiteRice - Wow. I have missed so much. You are all done and doing decent it seems. How do you swallow with less air?

PChef has her date!
Congrats! I was thinking if you have a church someone might be able to help you. Also is it possible for your husband to come home, move, and then run back to work? His employer would probably understand. Any neighbors home all day?

Surgery August 10th with Dr. Aceves
I bet that yuckie is just being plain tired. Your body has been through so much. How did you feel when you woke up from surgery?

What's on your mind?
I take 225. That might be why I withdraw like a twisted sister. I can deal with withdrawl but I am worried because the withdrawl makes me want to throw up. That is no good. I am not going to risk my staples for anything. I opened the capsule this morning and took the inards on an empty stomach. No problems. Don't worry my doctor said I could do this. I am going to do that for another week. If my stomach does not act up then I am going to give it a try after surgery.

How many jars of pickles....
My only exposure to a pickle is what comes on the Micky D's cheeseburger. I decided the first time I encountered it pickles were not for me. Nothing has changed in oh 27 years or so. Maybe longer. I don't know when my first cheeseburger was. I have a feeling I know when my last one will be though.

What's on your mind?
Put me on the list for extended release Effexor. I think you should try it again. Beware it has wicked withdrawl symptoms! Effexor is not one to be forgotten in the daily regiman. I have withdrawn from it so if anyone needs a plan to stop taking it send me a message. I started taking it again when I started feeling depressed. I am glad I did. That drug saved my life in 2004. No joke. I would have ended it for sure. HEY? For those who had surgery how did you cope with taking your Effexor??? I have been worried that I might miss a dose and get the dreaded withdrawls. I would have asked but figured I was the only one on the board who was taking it.

Hey...another newbie here!
Please call the last dentist you saw and I am sending a private message with a man who might be able to help but I am not positive. It is a long shot but worth it. As far as the costs for the dentisit to come to the hospital? I would start emailing dentsists in the Cleveland area your story and ask for a reduced fee or donated time. Keep a list of all dentists starting with the closest to the hospital. Even if they say sorry no reply with a thank you. You never know!!! The dentisit I worked for years ago did a lot of pro bono (good for the community) work.
