    Flu and 7up

I have had the stomach flu two days and can not keep anything down. I am starting to get alittle dehydrated and the Urgent Care doctor said to drink some seven up to settle my stomach and he knows I have the band. Anyone drink carbination with the band when they were sick? All I want right now is some 7up to settle my stomach. Gatorade, water, pedilite, and apple juice all keep coming back up. No food either.

Have you lost your belly fat?!

I am in the same situation! I hate this belly fat and it won't go anywhere! I have lost a good amount of weight and i am back down to a size 13 and still have most of my belly fat! My doctor says that it is typical and cardio will help.

    Starbucks Frappuccinos

The thing that stands out to me is the sugar! That's a lot. I was told by my surgeon at my last appt that if it has more than 5g sugar avoid it. I started doing that on Thursday and I am down 4 pounds already. Plus started munching on beef jerkey like he suggested between meals. I stay full longer and eat less now!
  5. I would call your doctor and see what they have to say.

    NO weight loss....

Doc said he wasn't worried about the one pound, he keeps telling me to stay on the track I am on. Well, this track has had no proven success for me....and it is taking away priceless hours with my children....
  7. I have 2 months post op and have not lost any more weight than I did on the post op liquid diet. I have had two fills and am up to 7ccs in my band. I do strength training x 5 days a week and I rollerblad x 3 days a week. I eat healthy. Usually egg beater omlet in the morning with tomatoes and cucumbers. Protein shake and plain tuna or chicken breast for lunch. Dinner is usually a small protein shake and chicken breast or beef. I've been doing this for a month and a half with no results! I am getting very discouraged. I acutally gained a pound at my last Doc visit. Any suggestions?
  8. Hi Savannahsmommie, thank you for the compliment. I work out now...3 - 5 days per week but during the early months of my lapbanding.... 1 week out from the surgery, I worked out 6 - 7 days per week up until the 2nd and half year, so for 2.5 years I worked out 6 days per week. I'd consume about 58 - 60 grams of protein a day.

I hoped this helped. You can find my food journal, workout journal on www.bodyspace.com and type Telly_Tell

  9. You look amazing! OH MY GOSH! How much do you work out? How much protein were you eatting while losing all the weight?

Add me to the preggo list. .

Congrats to you all. How exciting! I have two little ones and am going to try and wait until my one year mark to complete our family with the third. I wish you all the best with your preggers journey!

what is the port attached to?

My insurance paid for it. Thank goodness. I know that some insurances do not. Tricare has been pretty darn great thus far.

    need some exercising ideas

Hey. Not stupid at all. I started off just walking with my dogs and that really got the ball rolling. I now rollerblade, while pushing my two toddlers in the stroller. It is a blast. When it's too hot outside I will turn on the radio full blast and dance around with my kids and they love it. An hour into it my face is beet red, I'm out of breath and I'm sweating like a pig. But my kids love it. I do exercise videos in the morning, Slim in 6 is the best I have found so far. It really does a full body workout and it's low impact, but you feel it the next day. I am looking into getting a exercise bike or treadmill, as well. Good luck!

what is the port attached to?

My port is sutured to my abdomen. I had a port revision a week and a half ago because my original surgeon did not "install it properly." I guess they are suppose to put a little mesh behind it and a slid it againist the ab walls or suture it to the muscles and my original surgeon did neither. I went to get my first fill and it had turned upside down. Now all is good. I didn't have any trouble breathing though. Most of that is probably from gas. Get the Gas X. I didn't use it, but I heard it works great.

Want to get pregnant but newly banded!!

I agree with asking your surgeon. Only they will truly know the answer. You have trusted them thus far, trust the answer they give you. Good luck and if you ever want to borrow a couple of kids you can take mine! lol jk

    Birth Control=dapo shot anyone?

Weight gain can be a side effect, but that goes along with any birth control. Most of the weight gain is water weight, because you have a higher rate of retaining it. I don't reccomend the depo shot, and mainly because the doctor I work for tells all our patients that Depo has been known to cause "depression and anxiety." Good luck!
