  1. Hi Maggie thanks for asking. Yes I got the fill after dr worked almost TWO hrs with me. He gave me novacaine (twice) in the area so honestly I just felt the pinches from those shots nothing else. But he had a heck of a time and needless to say I was a nervous wreck. After all the poking and prodding I got 6 ccs, cuz guess what, the original 3 ccs were not there. Nurse said that with all the poking it was hard to tell.Yeah right, I don't think she put it in the port at all. Oh well, happy with what I got now...a new page on the book. You'll do fine too.Take care.
  2. Oh my word ladies....well last Monday I went for my 2nd fill and neither the dr or his nurse/assistant could find my port. After lost of poking and pushing the dr said he wasn't comfortable continuing the search and the office scheduled a fill under fluoro for today at the hosp. They recommended I don't eat anything for two hrs prior. I'm hoping there's nothing wrong....
  3. I was wondering....is your restriction so good that half a meatball or a third cup of chix salad satisfies you? Is that what good restriction means?
  4. Oh my goodness so glad to see I'm not alone in this! I have the Realize band (9 cc capacity) and my first and only fill was 3ccs. I have no restriction at all. I called the drs office and must wait six weeks for my 2nd fill which is scheduled for 11/2. Its very frustrating as I'm going on just will power. We will do this!!!
  5. Glad to have found this post. My band date was 7/24 and have been doing water aerobics on and off at least twice a week. A brisk walk at least once a week. I know that's not enough and my weight is showing it. Only lost about 25 lbs since surgery. One fill of 3 ccs and no restriction. Next fill not till Nov 2 ugh!:frown:
  6. Last time I visited my ob/gyn she said the small bulge on my bellybutton was a hernia. I told my lb surgeon and he said he would take care of it when he banded me. Day of surgery he told my hubby it was not a hernia but fat. Go figure....anyway since, its almost gone.
  7. Oh goodness so sorry to hear of this. I can just imagine your disappointment and concern. Hope next week you get better news and will be able to get your band. Please keep us posted.
  8. Several years ago as I was walking into a WW meeting a couple of idiots yelled out of their car "get your $$$ back is not working"! I gave them the finger but honestly was hurt, angry and disappointed. Later I laughed but to be honest every time I remember the incident it hurts. I'm glad I have my band and will loose this weight someday and feel good about myself and I hope those little bastards are as big as elephants by now:biggrin:.
  9. Its comforting reading these posts. I was banded 7/09 had a 3cc fill and have no restriction. I've been eating everything in sight and feel awful. I'm disappointed in myself and the band.
  10. I got 3 ccs for my first fill which is the only one I've had so far. No restriction so I'm looking forward to my next fill which cannot be scheduled for another six weeks.
  11. Sending you good thoughts and best wishes. Please let us know how you do. Take care.
  12. Oh my gosh please don't tell me this....I had my first fill last Thursday and don't have any restriction either. What's worse is that I have been eating ALOT! Not junk food but lots of good stuff. I had 3 ccs put in my 9 cc Realize band. This is so disappointing.
  13. Congrats what a great feeling I'm sure.
  14. First I want to congratulate you on your decision and wish you well on your journey. Like the other ladies mentioned every doctor has a different set of guidelines. I was on liquids for two weeks. Protein shakes, broth, popsicles, water. At the end of the two weeks I had a post op appt and the dietician gave me the mushies diet to go by. As far as pain, I was a little sore first two days but nothing major. I only took a pill and a half during my whole recovery time. Take care.
  15. Just got back from having my first fill. The main discomfort was the lidocaine after that all was well. It was done by the nurse/assistant and I was pleased with the experience. She had me drink a glass of water with the needle still in (I had my eyes closed lol)to see if it went down and all was well. I'm home and on liquids till Saturday, then soft for two more days. Hoping to find the "sweetspot".
