    I think I screwed up

Yeah I bought the splenda brown sugar and sweet potatoes last weekend. I did not like them. I never have been a fan of sweet potatoes. I had been eating the other potatoes just fine for 2 weeks. I just ate too big of a bite too fast. I am all better now and have had the mashed potatoes already just fine. I ate them extra slow though..lesson learned! Thanks for the input.

    I think I screwed up

Thanks! I did call today and they think I swallowed too big of a bite of mashed potatoes and it caused esophagus spasms. I was hurting until this afternoon and then ate a pudding and a few hours later I SLOWLY ate my mashed potatoes. I feel pretty good now but I really do think I am a little swollen as I feel like I am post-op week 2 instead of week 4. Thanks for the answers
  4. Sorry I missed your message. Yes I have lived here all my life. I live in St. Charles. How are you healing? I am back to pre-op as far as my own physical feelings but still have a little restriction from surgery which I am glad. I get my 1st fill 8-25. I have the 11 CC Realize band and will be getting 5 CC's. I am ready. My appetite is really picking up. Keep in touch

    I think I screwed up

Yesterday I was 21 days post op. I am still on mushies and doing quite well, however I decided to get cocky yesterday and cooked baby carrots real soft. I kept them whole and used salt and pepper for seasoning. I had my usual mashed potatoes but decided to have a bite of carrot and then back to potatoes..etc. I think I must have eaten too fast or maybe did not chew that darn carrot because in mid bite I felt like a piece of food was stuck on my "adams apple". I kept trying to swallow it down and then tried to clear my throat but nothing was budging. I had a slight panic feeling and then retired the rest of my dinner. This was at 7:30. At 10:00 I was starting to get some pain in my band area but since the lump went away I figured the food must be moving along. I drank some water hoping to help the food. Well.. I woke up at 12:30 with some pains around the lower part of my band area. I decided to get on the computer and google to see if it was the infamous food stuck feeling. I went back to bed unsure and woke up feeling almost completely relieved but not quite perfect. Any suggestions? BTW- I placed myself back on super soft mushies today. I am a bit scared of that "feeling"

Feeling like you can't stop eating?

I am sorry you are struggling. I am 2 weeks post op and have definately found my hunger again. I am on full liquids and start mushies week 3. I went for my follow up yesterday and they do not want me to stray from my "step up" to regular foods so I am not eating everything yet. I started logging my foods as soon as I switched to full liquids due to the calories I would be able to consume. Try and log your foods so you can monitor the calories until you get your fill. Good luck and hang in there
  7. Hi, my name is Aubrey, I noticed that you were banded in St. Louis. Are you from St. Louis, as I am would love to talk to other banders. I was banded 07/08/09 in Colorado with Dr. Kirshenbaum and I'm still getting used to it all...

  8. I had my 1 week post-up visit today and will be returning 8-25 for my 1st fill. I asked the Doctor if he filled small amounts frequently or what and he said he starts at 5cc's. Is this a good fill amount?

    Any July Bandsters out there?

Went for my follow-up today (banded July 6th) and all is great. I am banned from bathing in a tub and my pool until my next visit on August 25th. BUMMER! I get my first fill next visit. I asked my surgeon if he is one that puts a dab in over many visits and he says he starts with 5cc's. Yeah! Now that I have experienced the restriction through swellling at least I have an idea what to expect. As far as drinking after surgery, I sipped day one and two but by day 4 I felt exactly like pre-op. I am on full liquids now but adjusting well. (digestive speaking) I started logging in my food journal since I have no restriction + hunger. I need to watch the liquid calories until fill #1. Hope everyone is doing GREAT!!
  10. I just returned from my 1 week post-op follow up visit (banded 7-6-09) and return August 25th for my next follow-up and 1st fill. My surgeon is making me wait until after the next visit before I can take a bath, hot tub or pool. I am so bummed out. I missed the entire season basically. BUT next year...watch out baby!!

    Recent "bandits"

Hi everyone! I was banded Monday 7-6-2009. Today I feel G-R-E-A-T!! I was in more pain then I had expected the 1st three days but today I feel really good. I start full liquids Monday. I have had no appetite really. I just started getting the growls yesterday but I just sip on 100% juice all day and have had no real hunger issues. The tightness in my chest has finally gone. I did feel sore lying down at first but I forced myself to stay down and the pain left very quickly. I had more trouble sitting up actually. Today I plan on getting showered and getting out of the house for a while. I want to walk around and get my muscles stronger so I can stand for longer periods of time without the chest pulling pain. I think the swelling is going down and making for a much more comfortable setting. I can not wait to Monday to have Full Liquids. I hate broth,Jello and SF popcicles. LOL

    Ouch!

Standing straight up really pulls at my gutt. This is a little more pain than I was expecting I think. LOL
  13. I decided to get the single incision Realize band. He went through my belly button and there is one itsy bitsy cut at my breast bone area. My pain is minimal. I keep waiting for the BIG pains but none yet. I just got home from the hopital so am heading to my family room with my pillow and blanket to rest. Yeah!!! It is finally done:thumbup:

    4 Hours

Today is the day! I slept good last night so maybe I am calmer than I should be. It is such a long journey to make it to surgery day. I seem to only dwell on the fact the band is an "object" inside of me. Once I heal I think all that will hopefully go away.

    Clear liquids

Okay..I made it through the 1st 7 days. I get banded in 4 hours! Next week should be easier as far as hunger goes. I lost 11 pounds..LOL Keep it up!!
