  1. Happy 35th Birthday cab00se!

  2. Happy 34th Birthday cab00se!

  3. You will love Dr Scott.. I'm glad I chose him. My surgery went well.. I've lost 40 lbs and kept it off over thanksgiving and christmas, lol. I honestly was hoping to have lost more by now.. but i also know that the reason i havent are because of my own choices.. not the band. The band has been doing its job very well. I was feeling nearly normal just a few days after surgery.. but it's different for everyone! I've heard it's harder if it's ur first ever surgery.. I'd had my tubes tied laproscopicaly so i had an idea of what to expect. Good Luck )
  4. sorry i just got your email... i didnt have a way to reply back to you wouldnt let me actually.... but if you like i can see what i can do to help. there are alot of things to consider. as in how much do you need to lose how much you are eating and how much you are exercising one thing i might offer is a bodybugg this helped me alot in finding out how many calories i was burning also how many calories i was intaking. let me know how things turn out and if you need anything please just email me at karen_ktn@yahoo.com

  5. I'm so glad i found this thread! I was banded June 23rd.. and i've lost 35 lbs so far. Well usually I say I've ONLY lost 35lbs, lol. But im glad to see its right on track or not too far behind most of yall :blushing: Definately uplifting to know i'm not alone. Im starting a food journal right now.. any other tips??
  6. I'm from tx, so i dont know ur dr.. but i have tricare and i was approved. All you have to do is meet the weight requirement for tricare. With standard you dont even need a referral. Just make an appt w the bariatric dr and their office should submit everything to tricare. You should call and double check on everything tho.. follow up w dr office and ins just to be sure. Also tricare resets at the end of october so your out of pocket will be reset and you will have to pay more. I only had to pay $75!! but we had already paid $925 out of pocket over the last year for other appts and stuff.

    Success=working with the band!

    I know that is frustrating! That is how i have been my whole life. I'm hoping the band will help that. Are you at least less than before the band? i would lose then gain back more! (b4 band) ugh!
  8. I have been putting double scoops of protein in mine just to get enuff protein. Be careful what pills u crush/chop.. some are not okay that way. If u call any pharmacy and ask if it can be cut they will tell you. I actually got in all my water yesterday. And i wanted pickles so bad.. i just chewed them up and spit them out. They tasted so good :rolleyes2:
  9. when is ur appt? im 3 days postop..
  10. I have two friends who are banded, one for 3 yrs one for 5 months.. one has followed the diet to a t and the other not so much. the one who followed seemed to lose weight more easily/quickly and hasnt had any problems so far.. my other friend had vomiting and her band slipped and she got it replaced. BUT with all the trouble she had (most prob cuz she didnt follow rules) she has still lost a tremendous amount of weight and she says she would do it again even w the probs. Personally, i think it will be easier for me to just stick to the rules since i have seen her struggle, but on the other hand i know if i slip up it wont be the end of the world.
  11. I was wondering the same thing! :thumbdown: I'm only 3 days post op and it takes me an hour to drink 4 oz. if i try to drink any faster it is uncomfortable and i get burpy. Im supposed to be on liquids for 2 wks then mushies for 2 wks. Im happy i'm not hungry tho, so i hope it is ok..
  12. I am considering going to Dr. Scott.. how was your experience? Did you get the SILS? I've been checking the forums for people who went to him and I haven't found much.. :smile2:
  13. I also am interested in the single incision.. and I agree, their office is extremely nice.. how has your experience been? Do you recomend Dr. Scott?
