I'm not on clears beforehand, so that has to stink. How long after do you need to be on clear? I have the opposite problem of your TMI issue. I finally broke down and took some of my post-op stool softners because I hadn't gone in a week.

Can Unjury only be bought through them? No retailers seem to carry it.

What's your post-op diet look like? I'm clear liquids for a week, so I have Premier Protein Clear, Bone Broths, Jello, and Popsicles ready to go. My surgeon allows sugar in the first week after surgery due to calories being so low.

Over 2 month pre-op diet!?! Anyone else?
acopas replied to AmbiiNicole's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have the ability to purchase a Ninja Cream, you can turn the shakes into ice cream. I'm looking forward to it more after so I can add some "fun" things in like sugar free puddings to get some better flavors, but I made one last night with Vanilla Fairlife and about 2 tbsp of a chocolate protein shake added when I did the respin. -
Over 2 month pre-op diet!?! Anyone else?
acopas replied to AmbiiNicole's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't required to do it, but I chose to do an additional five weeks of pre-op diet. It'll make my end pre-op period 8 weeks. During those five weeks, I would drink a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and have a dinner of protein and vegetables. I didn't stick to a specific calorie range, but it was normally between 500-700. The 700 calorie days were typically when I couldn't avoid eating out and had to choose the healthiest option available to me. I'm starting my last week of pre-op today and I've lost 37.4 pounds so far. I was hoping for 50, but I knew that was a big ask. -
I’m 9 days into a three week pre-op. I lost 5.4 pounds the first week, but I ate the post-op diet for five weeks prior. My mom started on the same day and lost 9lbs in the first few days. my husband isn’t unsupportive just clueless. Asks me to cook food that I can’t eat or bring food to him that smells good. I’m actually sitting in a movie theater with him right now and he’s eating a flatbread pizza while I sip water. I’ve had two protein shakes today. It can be frustrating.

Anyone Tried to Do the Pre-Op Liquid Diet Before Its Time?
acopas replied to I Am Enough!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had two protein shakes a day typically breakfast and mid afternoon. I would eat a pouch of tuna (2.6oz) at lunch or have a bone broth with quest protein chips. At dinner, I ate around 2oz of protein and 2-3 oz of vegetables. I stayed in my surgeons guideline for 600-800 calories and less than 30 net carbs. -
It’s likely you need some more calories. Based on the more popular shakes you are getting 450-480 calories from those three shakes. I’d add one more to the routine. Four would let you drink every four hours for those 12 hours opposed to 5-6. Id also get something like propel that has some electrolytes to supplement. When I’ve done other low calorie/fat diets I’d have pickle juice shots to combat headaches.

Anyone Tried to Do the Pre-Op Liquid Diet Before Its Time?

I didn't run a trial at the liquid, by I did start following my post-op parameters for five weeks before my pre-op diet. During that five week run, I lost 26 pounds. I started my 3 week pre-op diet last Wednesday and when I weighed in this morning, I lost another 5.4 pounds this week. -
Two week wait...Down to two weeks before surgery. Finished my first week of liquid pre-op and am down 5.4lbs this week.

Not at all! I hope we all do amazing. I have two weeks until I fly to San Antonio. It's getting a bit real at this point.

Congratulations!

You've got this!

I had a trainer once describe losing weight as undressing. The first layer you put on is the last layer you take off. So most of us probably have had belly fat issues for a long while before we decide to have surgery, so that is likely the last place that'll start to give up it's excess.

June surgeries? Tell me your preparations
acopas replied to Songbyrd420's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My diet is 100% liquid other than a handful of vegetables that I can makes as a soup. It is also three weeks long. At this point, I think I’m going to just do four to five shakes a day and a soup like egg drop or miso. -
She's precious.

June surgeries? Tell me your preparations
acopas replied to Songbyrd420's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My surgery is 6/22. I started a three week liquid diet yesterday with the only exception being a vegetable soup that I can eat if I follow their recipe. My surgery team recommends stoking up on the first week or two liquids before surgery in case you don't feel up to shopping during that time. I have a few items, but I'll need to get more. Before my pre-op diet started, I started eating very similarly to how I would need to eat once I return to full food after surgery. I did end up losing 28 pounds over five weeks doing that. -
My surgeon takes 25-30 minutes to complete the procedure. You are likely under sedation for 10-15 minutes longer.

Oh I’m going to Mexico too. I was just wondering where you were going.

Where in Mexico?

3 weeks of liquid diet. The only real exception is I can have the following vegetables: Spinach, broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Green Beans, Bell Peppers, Mushrooms, Onion, Tomato (1 daily), and Zucchini. 600-800 Calories and a minimum of 75 grams of Protein.

Finally! I start my 3 week liquid pre op today!
