Found a new protein drink
acopas replied to liveaboard15's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Alpine Punch...I tried it, grape, and I think a green apple. I could barely stand drinking them. I did just to get in the protein, but I'd never repurchase. I liked the Premier Protein Clear drinks which have 20 grams of protein before surgery but couldn't drink them right after post-op. I still have a ton of them at home. -
Just checking in; yesterday was 7 weeks post-op. When I weighed in, I'm down 32.1lbs since surgery and 75.5 pounds since I started my extended pre-op 8 weeks before surgery. It's still a struggle to get all the protein and fluids in. I get full on about 1.2 ounces of meat; if I push to 1.5ounces, I feel terrible and/or actually get sick. Non-scale wise, I was able to shop with my teenage daughter for back to school without my back bothering me or needing to stop for a break. I'm keeping up with my 3 year old better as well thought she's a wild child. I've bought a few clothing items and I'm down 3 pant sizes.

I see this image shared often on other support sites about the 2-3 week weight loss.

So for my surgeon, we are on clear liquids for the first 9 days post op-followed by two weeks of full liquid. Calories the first week are slim to none. I was lucky if I got in 200-300 calories a day. He encourage walking often, but actually going out to walk for the purpose of exercise isn’t encouraged beyond 15-with p minutes a day. Today started my first day of full liquids, so I’m at 300 calories and 60 grams of protein currently. I’ll probably do some type of soup for dinner, so I won’t get much more protein.

I felt pretty tender through day four. Day 5, I woke up and felt so much better. I went to work and did great. Now my only discomfort (1 week out) is just upon standing initially and when my 3 y/o or dog steps on my stomach.

My post-op is pretty strict, but not this. Clear liquids for the first nine days, but we can have broths, popsicles, tea, and juices. They actually encourage sugar during this week as our calories are so low.

Can Unjury only be bought through them? No retailers seem to carry it.

Over 2 month pre-op diet!?! Anyone else?
acopas replied to AmbiiNicole's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have the ability to purchase a Ninja Cream, you can turn the shakes into ice cream. I'm looking forward to it more after so I can add some "fun" things in like sugar free puddings to get some better flavors, but I made one last night with Vanilla Fairlife and about 2 tbsp of a chocolate protein shake added when I did the respin. -
It’s likely you need some more calories. Based on the more popular shakes you are getting 450-480 calories from those three shakes. I’d add one more to the routine. Four would let you drink every four hours for those 12 hours opposed to 5-6. Id also get something like propel that has some electrolytes to supplement. When I’ve done other low calorie/fat diets I’d have pickle juice shots to combat headaches.

Not at all! I hope we all do amazing. I have two weeks until I fly to San Antonio. It's getting a bit real at this point.

First fast food since surgery
acopas replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you happen to go there for breakfast the egg white grill without the muffin is pretty good. W/o cheese it's 100 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 1 carb, and 18 grams of protein. With the cheese, It's 150 calories, 6grams of fat, 1 carb, and 21 grams of protein. -
LOL... For what it's worth, that made me wonder where the saying came from (other than my grandpa), and it is ill advised to look it up.

I'm in pre-op still. I don't officially start pre-op until 6/1, but have essentially been eating similar to the post-op meal plan for the last two weeks. I'm down about 17lbs. I'd love to lose another 20-30 before surgery, but it's hot as snot here and makes working out miserable. (Florida) How are you doing?

Mexico? Or stay in states? Where did you go + how much did you pay?
acopas replied to Christina1985's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm flying from Florida to Texas, but I did think about driving it, but knew I wouldn't feel like driving myself home after. You are allowed to bring someone with you that will just need to cover their meals while they are there. My husband is staying back with our kids so that wasn't an option for me. I would check SW as they fly from CVG to SAT. I'm flying in an extra day early and even that my ticket price was more that $100 difference in one day. -
Calories per day - 2 months post op?
acopas replied to Flab-U-Less Forever's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I'm still in pre-op stage, but the guidelines for return to normal food that they've given me are: REGULAR FOODS | DAILY GOALS Calories: 700-900 Net Carbs: 30 or Less Protein: 70-90 grams Water/Fluid Intake: 64-80 oz. -
Have they given you a list of what you can have that isn’t eggs? Eggs are pretty versatile though and there are lots of ways to cook them, so hopefully you won’t get too bored.

My husband has a CPAP and hasn’t worn it in about a year because it was a nuisance to keep clean and the on and off ten times a night when he gets up to use the restroom. I will say that it was very beneficial for the time he wore it. For both of us! He was waking up more rested as was I as he was no longer snoring!

I am somewhat starting mine a month early. I'm not doing the full on full liquids until I have to, but I have swapped out two meals for protein shakes and am doing a dinner that is a meat and vegetables only. Right now I'm also having two snacks a day which are typically a low fat mozzarella cheese stick.

I have a 21 day pre-op that starts on June 1, but I'm using the month of May to get used to tracking foods again. Putting things on scales, looking at macros, all the fun stuff. I'm also starting to let go of the foods that I won't carry forward with me. I've had my last pasta meal, eaten my last ice cream, etc. I know people can still be successful with those items in their diets, but that's not my story. I recognize the addiction I have to carbs/sugars and it's all or nothing.
