  3. Thank you so much to all that replied to my post. I did call the doctor this morning and the receptionist was a little hesitant about me coming in, the doctor is in surgery Thursday and Fridays, but I pushed and she called him in the OR and he said for me to meet him in the office and he would come in between surgeries. (His office is across the street from the hospital) I was prepared to wait a few hours but I was there less than 3 minutes, he removed 1cc and had me drink water, which went down no problems and no gurgling. He suggested that I stay on liquids another day and see him in 6 weeks. I had some soup for lunch and I was very happy! No pain and no getting sick. You guys are great! I appreciate this board so much!
  4. I have been banded almost 3 months, had another fill yesterday taking me to 5ccs. I have been on liquids since but I have trouble keeping anything down, including water. From getting sick I have a nasty headache and cut Tylenol in quarters, but that came up along with the water, so I crushed some. I called the Dr office this AM and the receptionist told me to stay on liquids for an other day and see how it goes, and if I am still having trouble to call again the following morning. I guess my question is, is the band too tight? or is this normal "restriction" that will lessen in a day or so? Also I have this gurgling that will just not go away, it is driving me crazy, and starting to become painful. ANY info/advice would be welcomed.
  5. I bought 2 kits, an early stage and a late stage kit from Smart Forme. The only thing I liked was the chili, spaghetti and the soy nuts. I did just order from Bariatric Choice but my order has not come yet. I think I ordered Wonder Slim Veggie eggs, ProiDiet bacon cheese omlets, Wonder Slim cheese mac pasta, Wonder Slim chili, Wonder Slim spaghetti bolognese, philly cheese steak pasta, pretzels and Kays protein chips. I would usally make the Chili and spaghetti myself with a tasteless protein powder, but I thought these would be nice to have on hand when I travel or just short on time. I will let you know what I think of the flavors.
  6. I found cooking for my family to birste very hard. The first week my husband cooked and then I took over. If I am having a bad day were I just am in the mood to just eat I usally will pull out something frozen that is quick and easy. I have found the Ziplock Zip and Steam bags really helpful too. Once they start eating I will head to my computer and stay busy. I do ask that they take thier plates and throw away whats left on them and put away any leftovers. I get very tempted to pick. Like tonight the 4yr old didn't finish his hamburger and I took a few small bites and chewed, chewed, chewed. But I am only 3 weeks post-op and not to have bread until 5 weeks out and red meat until 3 months. And as for the cheeze its, I did the same thing 2 weeks out. Boy, reading this I am realizing that I need to get a grip on some of my food issues. Best of luck.
  7. Got your friend request. Thanks! Had to tell you your date of birth is the same as my daughters!

  8. Is it possible to stretch your pouch on liquids? I am only 8 days post-op and the first few days I could drink 2 oz and feel full, now I can drink without any restrictions. I am a little nrevous and I don’t want to start things off on the wrong foot. Any advice would be welcomed.

    Hernia fixed as well?

I was banded 4/20/09 and woke to find that the Dr had fixed a small hiatal hernia. I didn't even know that I had one. I chose to stay in the hospital that night, I basically told the nurse that I had good insurance and I every other time I did an outpatient surgery something has gone wrong. She had no problems with it. I think the hernias are common. Off topic: My only issue now is that I am 5 days post-op and hungry, I am to be on clear liquids until May 6th (11 more days) but I needed something a little more thick. I am guessing that the swelling has gone down and everything is passing right through. I took a 1/2 of a can of Campbell’s' Bean and Bacon soup added 1 & 1/3 times the water and pureed it. I tasted so good! I have been full now for about 4 hours. UPDATE: Ok it has been almost 12 hours since I ate the bean soup. What was I thinking! It was too soon. The gas pains were too much and I felt way too full. I will NOT be eating it again for a couple of weeks. Just thought I would let you know in case anyone was thinking of doing the same.

*New* Weight Watchers + Lap Band Group

I have been doing WW for the last 2 months and was banded 6 days ago. I do plan on continuing with the WW plan (once the 14 of clear liquids is over). I have always had good success with it. I am new to this site so any help with how to save threads for easy access would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Dates only

I was banded April 20th. Please add me.
  12. Well I am home, surgery went well and the doctor found a small hiatal hernia and repaired it while he was in there. I am not too sore, the repair hurts the most, along with some air trapped under the diaphragm that is hurting my shoulder. I opted to stay the night in the hospital last night just incase I had any problems. So far the worst part of all this is the crushing of the medications. They taste so bad. If anyone as any suggestions on how to make it a bit more tolerable I would love to hear them. Take care, Wendy
  13. I only have to do Clear Liquids the day before surgery, which is set for April, 20th 2009. But I do feel the same as you do with my liver being too large. I did read that it takes about 10 consecutive days of a low carb diet before the liver will let go some of the stored fat. (I may have read it somewhere in this forum). I plan on doing a very sensible eating plan, a low carb, low fat and lean solid Protein. I am VERY overwhelmed by it all. I am fat because I love food and I love to eat. I am really trying to prepare and change my habits as much as I can BEFORE the surgery so I won't have the anxiety of trying to figure it out after the fact. Good luck to all!
