If It's For You!! God Will Give It!! And You Won't Have To Fight For It!!!
You do realise that this is a lapband site don't you? The majority of your posts are extremely religious. Now if you believe in God, Allah,Jehovah, The Christmas Bunny, whoever that is fine. If you want to talk about it fine. But do you think you could try to post it in an appropriate place. This kind of post would go far better in the Religious Bandsters forum , it is hardly a General Lap Band Surgery Discussion type of post.

Despetate Newbie
You should have been given instructions pre surgery. Yes I think you went far too quick. Generally you should be on liquids for 2 weeks, mushies for 2 weeks , soft foods for 2 weeks and then "normal" foods after that. You should concentrate at this point on things that you can drink. Soups, juices, veggie juices,Protein shakes etc. Custard may not be the best thing for weight loss but it is one of the foods that is recommended at this stage of the process. Yogurt is another good option. Dig out the paperwork and instructions that you were given and start following those. They are given to you to make sure that everything heals properly after surgery. Eating things that you are not supposed to be eating at this stage can lead to problems at a later stage.

Why Is It....
I was reading your post and wondering what exactly you are allowed to eat? Sorry that you are still having so many problems. You should be "better" by now and it sucks that you aren't.

Alone
Has he ever had a weight problem? If not then he will find it hard to understand how difficult it is to lose the weight and KEEP IT OFF. He is also probably scared that something might happen to you. You need to do what is important to you. It is your body and your health. Hopefully he will come around, if not then you may need to do it without his support.

Band Out... Now Sleeved!

7 Out Of 7 Cc Hop Will Get Restricted!!!!
I don't think many Dr's in Aus use Midband. The majority use the Lapband or Realize Band. I think Midband is made by a French company.

7 Out Of 7 Cc Hop Will Get Restricted!!!!
Maybe it shouldn't but unfortunately it is. It doesn't matter what kind of WLS you have you still have to do your part. None of them will make good choices for you and none of them will make you exercise. The problem is that you are likely to end up with a band that is too tight and too tight bands lead to slips, reflux, aspiration and other complications. Unfortunately even a band that is tight enough to do this cannot stop you from eating "bad" foods. Foods such as crisps, chocolate, icecream, crackers etc will still slide right through. You will be hungry as these foods are not satisfying and you will probably gain weight. It seems to me as though you were not educated about how the band works before getting it. Lets go over a few things. It doesn't stop you eating the wrong stuff. It doesn't make good food choices. It doesn't guarantee weight loss However if you work with it properly it is a very powerful tool that will assist you if you make good choices. Next time you get a fill follow the Dr's instructions. Generally they require you to stick to liquids for the rest of the day, then soft foods as tolerated the day after. Skip the pizza. If you want to see if your band is working then have a meal of firm Protein (beef, chicken, lamb, fish) with some veg and a good quality carb. Take small bites and chew well. Your aim is not to eat until you feel ill or stuffed but to eat until you are no longer hungry. Then see if you can go a couple of hours without needing food again. Note I did not say without wanting food again as there is a huge difference.

7 Out Of 7 Cc Hop Will Get Restricted!!!!
I am sure I could still eat a whole box of chocolates. If I keep going to get fills to try and stop me then I am going to end up in trouble. We all need to remember that we have to play our part too - the band doesn't do everything.

Overwhelmingly Fast!
That is quick. Think yourself lucky.

Choking In My Sleep
Yes , too tight. You need to go back and have some fill removed as otherwise you risk all sorts of serious complications, including possibly losing your band.

Confused?!?
You haven't read anything bad about either?

Lapband Vs. Sleeve?
If you use the search box you will find hundreds of threads dealing with this same question. Read through them so that you can get more perspective from people who are currently active on LBT and also from others that may not be so active anymore. just be prepared as it can be a very contentious issue.

Not Extremely Over Weight && No One Understands Why Im Getting It
Your title and the content of your post do not seem to go together. Usually the title reflects the content so that people know what they are going to be commenting on. You do not sound sorry that you have cheated on your diet. It is hard but it is important to stick to it. The Drs didn't devise it for torture, they devised it so that the surgery will be as safe as possible, by cheating you are putting that at risk. Make sure that you are ready for this. Maybe you are also thinking that you are not overweight enough for surgery and have decided that is sufficient excuse to cheat. If so then it is time for a reality check. If you go into surgery feeling like that then you are likely to fail. In order to make this successful you have to be 100% committed. The band does not make you lose weight. the band only helps you by controlling your hunger. You have to make the good choices, you have to exercise etc. Please feel free to ask more specific questions as that will make it easier for us to answer . Wishing you all the best .

Feeling
I assume you have just had surgery? Once you start getting fills you will notice a difference with what you can eat, how much, how fast etc. If you are not careful you might get stuck and then you will really know that you have a band. Other than that it shouldn't really be noticeable. It is part of you and you shouldn't be any more aware of it than you are aware of something like your liver or your kidneys. You know that they are there and they do their job but they do it without calling attention to themselves.

Had First Fill Last Week, Painful Bruising!
Cazzy not sure if you are asking me or the OP. No I didn't. Never have and really can't see why one would be needed. The only exception was when I had to be unfilled in hospital after i got stuck and the unfill was done by the radiologist under fluoro.

How Could I Be Gaining Weight Again!! ;-(
The sad fact is that the less you weigh the less you need to maintain or lose weight. E.G My ideal weight is around 50kg. I have gained back up to 52kg. In order to lose 2kg in 1 month I would need to eat 860cal per day for the 1st week, 855 2nd week, 849 3rd week, 843 3rd week. http://www.healthyweightforum.org/eng/calculators/calories-required/ I don't know how much you weigh but it is quite possible that 1200cal per day is too much for you for weight loss. The reason your dietician would have given you this figure is that this is the no. of calories per day that most believe to be the minimum an adult female should eat in order to remain healthy and meet all her nutritional needs. Instead of eating more you probably need to eat less or alternatively step up your exercise.

Learn how to spell
Oh and I noticed a spelling mistake on the ticker tape thing on the news today. Liberral instead of Liberal. You would think the media would check thoroughly before going to air.

Learn how to spell
The problem is that our children are not being taught how to spell correctly. They submit work at school that is full of errors and the teachers do not correct it or mark them down because of it. SMSing and computers also make them lazy and often they have no idea of the correct way to spell something. Spell check is a nightmare as it gives the American spelling even if you have some other form of English selected( NB If you are American then obviously that is fine) and as others have already pointed out it does not check grammar. The way things are going we will eventually get to a point where no one can spell and that will make reading the written word extremely difficult.

Had First Fill Last Week, Painful Bruising!
I have a bruise from my last fill which was almost 3 weeks ago. The fill was not painful although the Dr did have to manipulate the needle a bit more than usual. I am sure that he must have just hit a small blood vessel , nothing to be worried about.

My Example Of "maintenance"
Nice to see you back, have you been on holiday? Maintenance is something we will all have to work at for life. It would be nice to let down the guard but that is when bad habits sneak back in. Bands do seem to loosen up over time. After 3 years I very rarely feel any restriction yet I am at a point where my Dr is not happy to fill me any further. So at this point it is about making sure that i am in control and do not let things get too out of hand. I have contemplated doing the 5 day thing but that is as far as it has got. Let us know how it goes for you

Does Everyone Go Through Bandster Hell?
I don't believe they do. A lot of it depends on your mindset and what you are expecting. I lost weight from the time I had surgery until I hit my goal. I did not feel exceptionally hungry and was able to stick to the guidelines. Yes the 2 weeks of liquid only were a PITA but I got through them. My first fill was at 3 weeks out but it was only 1.5ml. However I found that each fill made enough difference that I could stick to what I should be eating and not be overly hungry. But I kept reading on here that I would reach this magical place ( in those days it was referred to as "the sweet spot" now more commonly as restriction) where I would be able to eat just 3 tiny meals per day and never be hungry! Wow it sounded amazing. But I never hit that spot so from that point of view I probably did experience bandster hell. I think the reason I didn't hit is was because it doesn't really exist or at least not in the way that it is marketed. If you have realistic expectations it will make the process easier.

Don't Sell Yourself Short - How Much Have You Really Lost
There are many ways of looking at it and percentages can be of various things. I could have started a thread about how much of your excess weight had been lost but I find that a lot harder to determine as then you have to decide what your excess is. Is it simply anything over normal BMI or is it what you consider to be your excess? I could also have started one with what I have lost compared to what I weigh now - that would have given me a figure of 48% of my current weight. In the end it doesn't matter. The point of this thread was to encourage and make people feel good about themselves and what they have achieved. But for purposes of consistency lets all use the same calculation in this particular thread - total lost divided by starting weight

Post Unfill Diet Regimen?
You shouldn't have to be on liquids for a few days. You should probably just take things slowly and easily . When I had my major unfill I got to eat soft foods as soon as I could get them down - I was ravenous at that point and then went back to "normal" eating the next day.
-
Don't Sell Yourself Short - How Much Have You Really Lost
You need your starting weight as we are calculating a percentage of the weight we were initially, then you divide the amount lost by the starting weight. So mine was 24 divided by 74 = 32.432 .
