This Is So Hard, I Can't Eat..
You are not supposed to keep eating for an hour. Most nutritionists will tell you that after 20 min you should stop eating, if you keep eating then it means that you are having too much. Vomited twice is probably because you are not yet used to how to eat with the band, it is a big learning curve. Not feeling full is normal. In fact feeling full post band is a lot different to preband. You don't feel it in your stomach, you feel it in your chest. Quite often it is an unpleasant , uncomfortable feeling. You need to stop trying to get that full feeling that you had previously as that won't happen. You need to look out for more subtle signals that you have had enough - hiccups, runny nose, discomfort, sneezing etc You are not supposeQuote MultiQuote

Do You Crave Sweets???
I "crave" chocolate all the time! I don't think it is my bands fault, just me, my tastes and my hormones.

Dr. Kuri Put A 4Cc Band In Me - Is That Good
I seem to remember someone asking something about Dr Kuri and I I think it was mentioned that thorough research should be done as there was an issue with one of the Mexican Dr's. I don't know which Dr it was as a lot of the history on LBT has been expunged. However a simple search of the net reveals this. http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2011/jun/09/family-seeks-answers-after-womans-lap-band-death/ He may be innocent he may be guilty, I have no idea. But hopefully someone that did thorough research would have found and investigated this. Not that it matters once someone has had and survived surgery!

Gas Prices, What Is Yours?
Our petrol is now sitting around $1.51 per litre so we are being ripped off even more. No idea why it has gone up, just more price fixing, profiteering and all the usual crap I am sure.

Over Eating ?
It is normal for you to find that after a while you eat more, that is why regular visits to your Dr are required so that a topup fill can be given if needed.

Sugar Alcohol In Items
Complete with horrific stomach cramps. I learnt that years ago when I ate a cup of them at the cinema in the days before they had to print a warning on them.

Gum!!! Hospital Visit Necessary? Response Needed Asap
You don't sound as though it is stuck. Do you have a horrible pain in the centre of your chest? Are you salivating like crazy? Are you unable to swallow anything ,including Water, without it coming back up? No? Then relax it has probably gone down.

Dr. Kuri Put A 4Cc Band In Me - Is That Good
That is interesting. BTW what Dr Kuri does with sutures is not unique, all Drs suture the band into place to try to prevent slips.

Benefiber No Where To Be Found!
Why wouldn't it be? We are allowed thick things and solids. Just make sure you follow the directions and drink plenty of water.

Being Secretive
I also only told my husband. Mainly for the same reasons as the rest of you, I was scared I would fail, I didn't want to have to face the food police etc. I told others when I felt ready. My daughter was away at uni when I had the op done, yes she was a little bit annoyed when she finally found out but if I had to do it over again I would not change when I told people. It is a personal decision. We do not need to share everything, certainly not until we feel ready. Honk I understand your point of view but I think the way your Mother handled this was probably the best. Why worry someone unnecessarily? However if the lump had come back as being malignant then it would have been vitally important to let the family know particularly as it could be hereditary.

Cant Join Any Groups On Here?
I thought the app was free?

No Coffee !!! Or Gum
Tea does contain caffeine but not as much as coffee. I don't know why some Drs don't allow it, maybe it is because these days no-one drinks "normal standard coffee" instead they all seem to drink really fancy, calorie filled concoctions. I don't see what could be wrong with 1 - 2 cups of coffee a day, either black or with a splash of milk and no sugar.

Feeling Sick!
I also felt nauseous and I think it was from all the sweet stuff. I had some homemade veggie soup and after that i felt much better, that at least tasted like food.

Do I Need An Unfill In My Band Before I Have Surgery?
This depends on the Dr. I also thought that it was necessary but discovered that is not true. When I had my hysterectomy last year my Dr did not require that I get an unfill. The only issue that I has was that the hospitals idea of a light diet did not tie up with what I considered to be a suitable lapbanders light diet. they kept trying to feed me sandwiches so all I got to eat was the soft stuff like icecream, jelly ,custard and yogurt which was not very satisfying.

Why Do I Feel Stuck In My Chest Instead Stomach
You shouldn't be washing food down with coffee. By doing that you are defeating the band and not allowing it to work properly. It is normal to feel the sensations in your chest as that is where your band sits. Try taking even smaller bites, chewing more and waiting between bites. Do not flush the food through. It may be that your band is a little too tight in which case you may need some fluid out or it may just be that you are not used to the different sensation of eating with a band. I think you should discuss this with your Dr.

What Should I Do???
I don't have the answer but I am keen to see what others say. YOU KNOW I am thinking about you and hoping for a good solution. Hugs.

First Post Surgery Dr Appt?
Possibly the reason that 3 weeks sounds late for a first post op appointment is because of the different way that surgery is done in Aus. We are not done as day patients, most of us stay in overnight so we are checked the next day to ensure that everything is OK. As far as I am aware most people get a fill at 3 - 4 weeks although some Dr's stretch it to 6. Some people have a fill whilst they are in surgery although that can cause problems. In Australia most Dr's follow a protocol of small regular fills - they do not seem to use the aggressive fill schedule that many US Drs do. It is not necessary to be on solids prior to getting a fill, it can be done whilst on soft/mushies with no problem. Some people go for months without a fill as for some reason they don't seem to need one. So everyone is different as is every Dr.

Band Slip - Unfill Absolutely Necessary?
It depends on where and how bad the slip is etc. From your message it sounds as though the band has slipped quite badly. Normally the first course of action with a slip is to have a total unfill and see if the band goes back into place. Quite often, it does. If it doesn't then it needs to be fixed, removed or replaced. How urgent this is depends on a number of factors including your ability to eat and drink, whether you have reflux etc. I think the best thing for you to do is have the unfill and keep in close contact with your Dr.You will need to be assessed regularly to make sure that the slip is not causing additional problems.

First Post Surgery Dr Appt?
Normally at your first postop app they give you a fill. When is your appointment? Mine was approx 3 -4 weeks after my op.
