Got my first fill today...OUCH!

Did you find a fill doc in Fairbanks or did you have to come back to Anchorage? I start my pre-op testing Friday cause my Surgery is next tuesday.... I can't wait. Congrats on your weightloss and I hope it continues for you... Jennifer -
I know I have seen this question before but I can't seem to find it. I have searched and so many thing have come up. Not even sure if I know how to search right... LOL Anyway, What kind of things do I need to buy before I go into surgery? I know gas strips, heating pad, and broth and stuff before but is there anything else you should have bought before. I just know I am going to forget something. I think the nerves are kicking in now cause I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. Also anything I need to take to hospital too. I know I have to stay overnight. I have already started writing down questions for my surgeon, so I can ask tomorrow and not forget. I am just so freak'n nervous.....:thumbdown:

I watch that show too. I could def tell the difference. My mom is about 440 lbs but just lost 60. I could tell. But also I haven't seen my mom in almost 8 months. So maybe you can't tell because you see her more often. You know what I mean? Maybe you could look at pics of her before compaired to now. If she did lose 60 lbs then it will show in her face first. That is where I could tell the weight lose on my mom first and her neck.... -

ok so I just reconnected with several people from my High School on Facebook. Our 10 year reunion is coming up. I won't be there since I am in ALaska at the moment. Anyway, I have noticed that ALOT of the girls even guys that were skinny in school have gained a considerable amount of weight. I feel bad but I just couldn't resist snickering to myself. I would like to be able to post full body pics of me instead of just waist up pics. I kind of wanna rub it in their face. But the more I thought about it, I kind of felt sorry for them cause they must know how I feel about myself and it isn't good. Maybe after I get to my goal I will share with them what I have done....Maybe some of them I just really do not like.... -
OMG, The funniest thing ever. Crazy cause that is exactually what my husband would say.... LOL

This is so me.... OMG... I can't wait to wear the boots.... And for the rides, I feel bad saying this but I went to a Fair a couple of weeks ago and wouldn't ride a ride unless I saw someone bigger than me ride it, cause I was affraid of getting up on the ride and not having the belt or the metal thing not fit......I thought well if they can fit on the ride then I should be able too.... -

My mother in law is Sue Williams... It has been about 7 years ago or so. She used to work with them at Gilster. I used to work at Gilster with Margie Hicky before she same to START. I am not sure if she still works there or not.

Tricare Approval or Denial??

My approval said "Approved with modifivations" also. But that was an approval just to see the surgeon. Not for the surgery its self. I had one surgeon approved to see. He wanted me to pay out of pocket and when I conplained to Tricare they referred me to another surgeon who did not. So they had to modify my first approval. They might have approved your surgery, but had to modify it because the surgeon might have tried to add something to it at a different time. I hope this does mean you are approved for surgery.... I am doing good. The 28th can't get here fast enough.LOL The 24th is my birthday... I only have to be on a low carb diet so hopefully my birthday won't be to miserable.. I am really excited now but I think the closer my my surgery date gets here I will start to get nervous. I vowed to myself I would not get scared... I don't want my kids to start to get scared either. I have prayed that this is the right decision for me and I just know it is. Do you have to stay over night? I do, just 1. Anyway, TTYL

I have an 8 year old myself(boy). I feel bad but I would have probably told the kid to "Leave me the HELL alone" I wouldn't have been mad at them just annoyed.:tongue2: I would feel bad later but the parents need to teach their kids manners. The good thing about kids that young is that they don't take things so personally like us adult..... Jennifer -

I just wanted to say hello to another Ava Illinois person. LOL I am actually living in Alaska at the moment. Husband is stationed up here. My mom is having GB and she was seeing the same Doc as you.. My parents still live out on Keller Highway.. I graduated from Trico in 99. Pretty cool so see someone from so close to home... Jennifer

Hello. I notice that you have lost almost 40 lbs.. That is great. My surgery is scheduled for July 28th. I am so excited and it couldn't get here any faster. I was wondering what kind of a pre-op diet does he have us on. I know it will be low carb but how many carbs is low carb. My pre-op appointment is July 15th. Thats when I start it but I was kind of wanting to start it now....

Wow I didn't even know we could do that with our card. I mean I am not banded yet(1 month to go) but that is good to know. I guess what I would do would be to decided where I wanted to go first and call in advance. That way if they do say no it is just over the phone and not face to face. If that resturant does accept them, then I would tell the waiter you called in advanced because maybe not every waiter knows about being able to use the card. That is pretty neat. I didn't even know that. I will have to remember that after I get banded! Jennifer -
Will I get approved through Tricare?

Well you can alway appeal if you get denied. When you appeal they have to submit the paperwork all over again and that gives you a chance of using a different weight... But you never know, like you said just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.. Jennifer
