I understand where you are coming from. its scarey to put yourself out there. I always tell people this is just another tool I have to help me lose the weight. Its not easy and if your friends and family ever eat with you (and they will) they will see how much you have to now think about every bite. In the beginning I did not want to tell friends or family especially my in laws because they have always been very judgemental people but to my surprise they are my number 2 supporters #1 is my husband. I wish you the best of luck. Keep in mind the more support you have the easier the process can be.

Hey there, I had my surgery by Dr K almost a year ago, best experience ever. Both Dr K and his support staff are wonderful. All my questions concerns were always answered quickly. When I was looking around I asked around to other surgeons (I live in Colorado but about 4 hours away from Denver) if he was reputable. I am a nurse so I had some connections in the world of healthcare and I never had anyone say anything negative about the man. He has done thousands of these surgeries therefore he has it down. I would HIGHLY recommend him. I stayed at the Marriot which I got off of Priceline.com and got a killer deal 50$ a night and this was a super nice hotel which for me was important just so I felt better..lol I know weird. Anyhow I say go for it hes great. Heather

Heather- dont stress, this is a work in progress for the rest of our lives. I couldn't do it anymore either so I spoke with my doctor and he said everyone progresses different and he told me that I could progress as my body let me. I am currently eating just about anything I havent eaten a lot of bread products but most everything else I eat I just chew chew chew. I wish everyone the best. I get my first fill on May 15 I cant wait.

I called my doctor at week 2 and said I am so tired and hungry all the time he said some people progress faster then others and to just got slow and chew everything well. listen to your body and I would call your nutritionist or doc because if you tell them you are struggling they may give you the green light. I also noticed that if I didnt take my vitamins daily I had a decrease in energy. Good luck and dont stress just use your resources.

I am so glad that your doing better. I agree with you just because your behind a desk doesn't mean that your resting. Things are gonna get better soon. I cant wait to meet the thinner me.

Hey Heather its Heather lol. I just wanted to say that I understand your laziness and crankyness. I had the same day yesterday and had a pitty party but decided today would be a better day. Something I attributed it to was my vitamins I forgot to take them yesterday and did today and feel tons better. I think each day will bring us different challenges. Keep your head up and just think of the lbs youll be losing. Good luck all, I had my first day at work today I am pooped now, I am a floor nurse so I had 12 hours on my feet. Looking forward to tomoorow.

Things are going well still port pain but I am not taking any meds. I actually slept on my stomach last night and it felt good. I just wish I could get rid of this pain in my chest which I think is just the restriction with some gas. I havent really found any Protein powder or shake that I really like so I guess I will keep trucking. Big Daddy I to find myself thinking of the foods I can't have but I just keep reminding myself that as soon as I lose 50lbs or so I will eat a couple of those things but for now I want to lose weight. Those foods will always be around. Good luck

I was banded the same day and I am having the same weird pressure below my breast area maybe its constriction I dont know but I cant drink much fluids I am trying but its tough. Good luck I hope things get better soon.

I have also had the itching thing in my legs and arms and my thought was this was just my body getting rid of the anesthsia. It should go away shortly and if not mention it to the doctor at you next appt. I havent been sleeping well but I attribute that to all my naps throughout the day.

Hey everyone i feel much better, I think the reason I vomited was because I took my pain medication on an empty stomach. I was just so tired I didn't think about it. Passing a ton of gas of course mostly in public :tt1:. when I did vomit it was a little uncomfortable but it actually hurts more to cough then it did to vomit. I really want to progress from clear liquids to full liquids but I am scared of causing pain or not being ready for it.

My surgery went well I just wasnt excited to drive 3 1/2 hours home but it wasnt to bad. I was at the hospital at 1:30 and went in for surgery at 3:40. I was back at my hotel at 6:30. I did well the first night but last night was horrible I actually vomited it just all of sudden hit me like a ton of bricks. Scooby- I agree how in the world am I going to be able to get down 64 oz of fluid. Good news I am already down 5 more lbs. I want to put up a ticker but I dont know how can anyone help me with that. I am soo glad everyone is doing well, the pain will pass soon.

I have been doing well, last night was a rough night I all of a sudden became nauseated and threw up, very little but enough to scare me about band slippage but I feel alot better today. Hopefully that will be my last time puking ughhh I hate puking.

K so i am all banded and ready for my new life. I had mine done yesterday I got to the hospital at 1:30 and went to the OR at 3:40. I just remember the anestieologist (sp) saying Im going to give you a sedative and I remeber thinking how long is this gonna take and then I woke up in recovery. Funny how that works. I was back at my hotel at 6:30, I had to travel 3.5 hours away from my home. I had minimal pain and slept well I just kept waking up not because of pain just cuz. So I was up walking throughout the night which I am sure helped with my drive home. I have had some water, jello, and applejuice with some protein powder in it. So far the pain really isn't anything I cant handle. I am so excited for the new me. I feel like this is the beginning of my new life. I hope everyone else is doing well. Keep in touch.

Okay I am getting everything packed today the hubby and I are leaving town soon to go to Denver thats where my surgery is. It will be about 3 1/2 hours to get there. I wish everyone the best of luck I know we are all gonna rock it. We will soon be half the people we have been. whooohooo. On another note I am so amazed at the support I have been getting from my friends and family in these last few days especially today everyone knows I am leaving today so they have all called thhis morning wishing meluck I feel so loved and supported right now. I am sooooo excited I will post again soon.

I am excited, nervous, happy and a million other emotions. But mostly I just want the day to be here already. I have lost about 10lbs on this preop diet and am ready for the real weight to drop off. Anyhow hope all of you are well.

Hey girls I was on vacation for a week and I have been doing decent on my diet I have to do high protein low carb diet for 7-10 days. So far I have done alright, most days are good I have had a few bad days. Protein shakes - my doctors office said the best protein supplement was called bene protein and it was tasteless you could even put it in water I havent gotten it yet but have heard good things about it. apparently you can only get this from a pharmacy because most places dont carry it. I googled it and you can order off there website I think it was made by nestle but just google beneprotein. I am excited just 4 more days to a newer us whoohoo.

lingling mine is in the US thats Denver Colorado. I guess mexico must be cheaper not sure.

I always think about when I will be skinny and some days I know in my head I have this idea its just gonna melt off but then somehow reality smacks me and I go O yeah this is gonna be work, but work that WILL pay off. Dreaming is good that will help you stay on track when you want to eat that piece of chocolate cake just dream of your skinnyness....lol

Welcome delacruz, I am being banded in denver and am a self pay patient as well. I am curious as well how much your paying. My total plus 3 months follow up and fills is 9950.00. Sooo I am a nurse and I tell all my laproscopic patients to walk walk walk and elevate your feet above your chest to help alleviate the gas pains. Usually works.....my husband just said so when your whining do I remind you of that....I said yep I will try to take your advice. I am so glad you are all doing well. I cant wait.

What kind of things are you packing to take with you? I have to travel 3 hours to Denver for my surgery so we are driving over the day before and staying in a hotel. My husband got time off from work so he'll be there the whole time. I hope that I took enough time off from work, I am sure I'll be fine. I just wish it were over already.

Hey there I am scheduled for surgery April 16 as well. I am starting to get very nervous and excited. I start my preop diet tommorrow. I just wish it would hurry up and get here.

I got a call from the docs office today and they asked if I could switch my date to April 16 and I thought the sooner the better so now my day has changed. I have to start my post op diet on April 2. So excited cant believe its actually going to happen.

Hey all I am soooo very excited I just received my approval from my bank on my loan (I am a self payer) My scheduled day for surgery is April 20 whoohooo. So Auddie you and me we will start together.

Whoohoo I got approved for a low interest loan through my credit union. I am going to schedule the surgery tomorrow morning. I am sooo excited.
