10/14/09 What Goes Around Comes Around

    BEAUTIFUL! in both pics!
  3. So the first week of work went better than I expected. I got a great schedule of classes, my students ::keeping fingers crossed:: are a nice bunch of kids. And I've never heard so many compliments in all my life! At the end of each day I felt like a super model lol. Of course it wears off , until the next day when it happened again! haha it was a VERY fun week b/c I was finally feeling like something made a difference. This whole band experience has really changed my life...I didn't believe at first but Im starting to see it for what its worth. Mainly because of the boost of confidence I got from work. I guess I like being center of attention  Still have a long way to go but it"ll be even more worth it. Being back at work and going to school part time, this week I've been able to get most of my protein in. I haven't had time to snack on junk food either. Now I need to find time to workout at the gym... once I get the hang of it Im gonna start going three times a week. K guys Im gonna go get a mani/pedi MY BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW!!

    This may help weight loss.

Being off all summer and taking tons of mini vacay's and a couple huge vacations was tough on the DIET! Getting back to the grind might be just the thing I need to get back to losing! Last weekend to enjoy life and then it's back to lesson plans, grading, papers and exams again, school and work! ahhhh I work full-time as a teacher (5 days a week), and part-time grad school (4 days a week)... I might not have time to hit the gym as much as I want, but I do feel that the more I do, the more I get done, so who knows I might be able to get to the gym on the weekends, at least I hope so. I find myself not really hungry... just a lot of head hunger... is there a band I can attach to my head?!? I feel I need to eat even if Im not hungry and sometimes even if I just ate something that wasn't satisfying. Trying to stick to proteins first, but carbs taste so much better lol, but Im pretty good about staying away from them. They get stuck a lot of the time. I think crackers are my worst addiction at the moment, they taste good... and feel good meaning they don't get stuck and Im not running to the bathroom. So nervous to go back to work... I know they will notice my weight loss but they'll all say "how'd you do it?" since they don't know I'll have to tell them "portion control and exercise", which is true, so Im not lying. I wish I could have done a little better this summer with losing the weight... but I think Im losing slowly but surely... as long as its coming off I don't mind so much that it takes a little longer. Im trying to realize that everyone loses the weight at different rates. Going back to work should be interesting... more than anything its hard being in front of 140 students all week... SCARY! why the heck am I afraid of KIDS!? Idk... I need confidence! grrr not at the point yet I guess. I still feel HUGE! Sept 13th will be 6 months since surgery...so far lost about 40lbs give or take 2 lbs... lol I go for a fill on Oct 2nd, I gotta make sure I lose at least another 10lbs by the time the appointment... well at least try to anyway! This will be a busy week, month, year... Work- 8-3 monday-friday School- 4-7 tuesday-thursday, saturday (8-5) Gym- monday, wednesday, sunday... So for all of you out there starting work, or school I hope this kicks your weight loss up a few notches! GOOD LUCK!

    6 cc's and still hungry

Hey I am filled at 6.1cc in a 10cc band, I had my last fill 2 weeks ago and I feel I am at the sweet spot I don't get hungry but I do get head hunger and I wanna eat everything in site but the band does not let me...so I guess it is doing its job. I vomit everyday maybe 2 or 3 times a day. Im possibly to tight. However I know what you mean about the band getting "less tight" after a certain amount of time passes. So I don't want to go to the doctor for unfill because maybe soon it will get looser for me. I was banded april 13th 2009 and I have lost 35lbs.It sounds as though me and you are losing weight around the same speed. Im in the same boat as you. It seems to be that people lose the weight or get to their goal at about a year or so. I think we are doing fine you just have to try to eat the right foods until your next fill. I wouldn't worry just try to eat less and ignore the hungry! You can do it! For me food as lost all pleasure lol so be happy u can eat without vomiting it up... food isn't satisfying remember that. good luck!

    Just had another fill

So I woke up Thursday morning at 4am with a major panic attack. Knowing that I had a 1pm doctors appointment with my surgeron for a fill. I was so nervous about it, not because of the needle or the fill...but because I had gone on two vacations previously and I thought for sure I would get to office and gain a million pounds back! However, it all worked out better then expected and I ended up losing an additional 8.6lbs! :frown: I was so happy, and she tighten my band some more, I told her that I still felt hungry from time to time. Which will help me because when I feel hungry I want to eat everything in site... and as a result I have to throw it all up within seconds because I eat way to fast. I explained that to her as well... and I LOVED her reply. she said "It's like when a tiger see's a zebra, it's just animal instict to go after it's food" That was important for me to hear, bc I thought something was wrong with me. I feel much better now, and I have been working out A LOT! Im still on liquids for today and mushies again for a couple days, then back to normal food again...I feel like Im in the zone or the "sweet spot" now. Allrighty thanks for listening guys! Good luck out there!

    8/10/09 Eating Out

wow...your blog just some up eating out for me nearly perfectly. So much so to the point that I was getting nervous reading it. The only difference is that where you can control yourself from throwing up... I can't! The minute I eat it doesn't matter how well I chew, or how slow I eat or how little of a bit I take, it will still come up with slime and all. Its so embarrassing that Iam pretty sure my friends think I have an eating disorder or something because of the constand going to the bathroom while at meals. I haven't told maybe people about the LB either, and I don't plan on telling them. This makes things much harder when trying to eat so now I just aviod eating in front of people, if I can. I just got a fill on thursday (8/6) I did 2 days liquids and 2 days mushies and Im back to soilds. I went to Penera Bread with my mom and brother and decided to have the cream of broccoli soup...even that came up! But that was the first thing I ate all day so Im thinking I was just really tight at the time. right now Im still sticking to protein shakes... and lost 4lbs since thursday. (its now monday(8/10).

    8/7/09 In the Zone?

Great blog! Im at the same point, I just had another fill (6.2cc/10cc LB) I feel as if I too am in the zone, since Im losing about 1-2lbs a week.

  16. What type of band do u have?

  17. Thanks BG! Yes solid proteins are staying down nicely now. I am on Day 3 of LOW CARBS and I feel pretty good, I have more control again. I have tried to low carb pre-band and I lost 40lbs but gained most of it back soon after. I hoping now with the band that it wont come back. So far so good 3 days in. I happy to be back on the band wagon. :)

    Day 1 of LOW CARB

So I've decided to try this out low carb style, since things haven't been working for me lately. I have no discipline and I'm losing control, I even think I gained 2lbs...and that really saddens me. I work out 3 times a week with a trainer that kicks my butt, and I feel like I don't eat that much... but I do know that I am choosing to eat the wrong things. I really want this to work and Im scared to sabotoage this. So here is DAY 1 low carb. Breakfast: 1 Egg/ 1 slice of cheese Lunch: 1/2 cup refried beans/shredded part skim mozz. cheese Snack: Some Mixed nuts Dinner: 1/2 cup Chili drinks: water, diet coke, vitamen 10 cal water

Learning to live with the band!

Keep up the good work! 1 pound every 3 days is great. I wish I could do that. I know I'm not eating right... and for about 2 weeks nothing would stay down so I was vomiting everything except liquids and tortilla chips! Not fun. But now I can keep almost anything down, however I don't know how to choose the right foods to eat and I am worried about gaining weight at this point...
  22. Hey thanks for thinking of me! Actually I ended up not getting the unfill like I should have b/c the vomiting stopped and food is able to stay down once again. I'm not really sure if this is a good or bad thing, on one hand I am glad I can eat without running to the bathroom. And on the other hand I'm not sure why the food all of a sudden stays down...hmmm... kinda confusing to me. Did the band get loose, will I eventually need another fill. There are certain times that Im tighter and other times where I'm loose. I'm uncertain about why Ive been able to keep food down without getting an unfill, I could also be eating certain foods which I know will stay down easy. I have also been chewing better. I'm learning how to deal with the band better. However, I'm worried about gaining weight and not eating the right foods...I wish I could wake up tomorrow and be skinny... oh well thanks again ttys! xoxo I hope all is well with you! Keep up the good work!

Oh God Ate Too Much Slime, Burping etc.

My band is to tight that I've been puking 2 to 3 times a day...its horrible! nothing stays down except liquids and chips...and its embarrassing running to the bathroom all the time. esp. b/c people do not know I'm banded...going on Monday or Tuesday to get an "unfill" I can't believe how uncomfortable I feel these days, I am regretting the band right about now.
  24. wow...I was banded on April 13th 2009... and so far I've only lost 27lbs...how'd you lose 41lbs so fast? Whats ur secret?! Do tell!!!

    6/18/09 Restriction...Finding The Balance

Good post! I feel the same way about the restriction...I don't know if I'm to tight or not... I've had two fills already and this last one the doc put in a lot more...and at first nothing would stay down, and I was def. eating the wrong foods. I know I'm not sticking with the program here... and I really need to get back in the game. But now some foods stay down, and it's really hard for me to eat in front of other people b/c I'm scared its gonna come back up and I'll have to run to the bathroom in front of everyone...which happened when I was on a date last weekend...I was so embarrassed. I am really confused with what things I should eat... and having a really hard time sticking to eating the right things when nearly everything comes back up and it hurts at times. Maybe I need an "unfill" but I'm scared that I wont feel any restriction.... ugh. this is so hard. thanks for listening
