    any one banded 7/15/09

I too was banded on 7/15/09. Anxiously waiting my first fill on Aug.20th. Like others have mentioned currently can eat as much as I did before, but when I do I feel bloated, etc. I hope to goodness I haven't done any damage to the band-stretched or slipped. I have stayed with the correct foods in each phase. I have lost 14 pounds and have staled also. Hopefully I will drop more once I have the fill. Let's be there for each other b/c this bander hell is getting to me I too don't want to gain.
  5. Has anyone tried the unflavored unjury? How did you incorporate it into your foods, just sprinking, or what? On soft foods right now and cannot stomach anymore isopure or protein shakes. Trying to make sure I get my protein requirements met. Thanks for any info you can pass along...
  6. Was banded 7/15/09 and noticed a few days ago a rash between the breasts, under them, and on the stomach, however not around the belly button which was the sole site of my procedure. This rash itches slightly. Any ideas what could be the cause? Other than that getting along great although I hit my tolerance of drinking Isopure. Had to do other protein drinks instead. Going for my one week post op Wednesday; just didn't know if anyone else had this issue, and if so what did their docs say.
  7. Bandarama, I'm getting my band in St. Louis on July 15th? Who is your doctor? Good luck. Hope to hear from you since we will be recouping about the same time.

    Any July Bandsters out there?

July 15th here! Anxious, scared, excited and hopeful. It's our own version of Christmas in July! Good luck to everyone on the beiginning of this journey :cursing:
  10. I am not banded yet, but my mind is racing with the usual ?s about life after "the band". For those that were habitual stomach sleepers prior to surgery, after your recovery time are you now able to still sleep on your stomach or does the port interfere? I'm trying to get an idea if I need to start practicing different sleeping positions.

    surgery scheduled

It is definitely in the cards for you to have your surgery that date! You will have 2 reasons/your birth and re-birth to celebrate on that day now. Good luck and congrats. I hope to be a fellow bander in July also. Will find out my surgery date on May 13th. How do you like "July Firecrackers" for us July patients?
  12. OK... here's are the questions... If you are a person who hates needles do the fill needles hurt or does one become immune to the pain after having had the surgery? Also did any of you have to drink a barium solution for pre-surgery tests? I had to drink this stuff 30 years ago and I am still traumatized. Honestly, has the solution consistency and taste improved during those years? Any feedback is appreciated as I "mentally" prepare myself for the gag reflex
  13. Thanks everyone for the advice. I appreciate the support you guys give
  14. I am so excited; have been approved by insurance company which was only 1 week wait (well that is after they received all the hoop info they req'd) - surprised. I have my all day pre-op orientation May 13th and will get my surgery date then. I am looking for advice from everyone on this: I figure 2 weeks liquid pre-op diet any other tests puts me at the end of May. Our family is flying to Disney World June 24th for 1 week. So.... if they have availability say between June 1 - 12th, would you have the surgery that soon b4 vacation? Or would you schedule after July 4th (we return July 2nd)? I wouldn't think I would have such a hard time deciding, but as we all know it has been almost one year (July 29th) since my first step on this journey. I apprecieate any info/advice you can give me!
  15. Can someone please tell me if it is possible post banding to take the larger pill cold medicines that are available over the counter such as dayquil liqui caps, mucinex, etc. Are there issues with such larger pills getting stuck. What does one take if these aren't possible? :mad2:
