    strech marks...anyone try cosmetyn?

how come whenever you do the risk free "trial" they sign you up until you cancel? I don't remember agreeing to that!
  3. you won't want sex for at least a month (in my own experience)! I can't believe your doc said the same night ( I don't think that's a good idea at all, and i'm not a doc, but that just sounds painful)! good luck
  4. ohhh there is just so muchh i'm looking forward to... having the hot guys check me out and not just my gorgeous friends (who i love 2 death). finding a new lovee...or re-kindeling my 1st (i miss him like crazyy...but i really don't expect that we will even see each other ever again...sad =[) to allow myself to feel good...i don't allow myself certain things b/c i think i'm to fat...like shopping for new clothes not having to worry about going down to my camp and getting in a bathing suit, going to a water/amusement park, swimming in my own pool...when other ppl are around, actually taking pictures of myself again...i really can't wait to capture those great moments with my friends that i haven't been able b/c of being embarassed...i usually dodge photos even now after 30lbs...maybe another 30lbs and i won't do it anymore ...who knows but i can't wait i know that i am on the right track...i have had my band 2months and 3days...& i have lost a total of 30lbs...if i could lose another 30 in the next 2months that would be awesome =] [but i guess we will just have 2 see]
  5. before getting a fill i never used to PB, but once i recieved my first fill i started doing it a lot more (at least once a day). I think when you get a fill you need to adjust to the fill...and it just takes time. I am 3weeks out since the last fill and i don't PB anymore! But I do feel like i have lost a bit of restriction. (but I am still loosing).

    The Mathematics of Weight Loss

I find your comment humorus, if you read the back of any labeled food container it will tell you that the caloric intake is based on a 2,000/cal diet. Yes, 2,000 calories a day is considered normal but everyone is different. Some people's matabolism is a bit slower/faster than others and therefore they don't lose/gain weight on the same amount of calories that others would. Obviously, you will have to find the caloric intake that will work for you and eventually you will more than likely have to reduce your intake to produce the same results. I'm pretty sure the doc. knows his facts, I'm not sure why you would question him because to me, and i am sure to many others as well, his facts check out with common knowledge.
  7. So this kinda weirds me out...one day i will get on the scale and it will say that i have dropped a pound or two, maybe 2 or so days later i will get back on the scale and i gain them back. then maybe about a week later the same thing will happen i will lose about 2lbs and i will stay at that weight for a while and then i will lose another pound and gain it back then lose it then gain it back...and this process goes on 4 eva. This seems like it may be confusing so lets have an example. week 1: (Day one: 210)(day3: 208)(day 5: 210)...then at some point stabalize at 208lbs then lose 2 and gain it back then lose it again...and eventually stabalize at that weight...then the process repeats itself! is this normal? i know i really shouldn't even worry about this, but it bothers me a little bit!

  11. If I slime or PB, or both am i putting my band at risk for slippage or other problems? I have been getting a lot better about not sliming or pbing (just a learning process), but i have to wonder if i am doing damage when i accidently slime or pb?

    Almost a year

don't beat yourself up...just get back on the bandwagon tomorrow...you should allow yourself at least one day a week to relax and have a little of something you had been dreaming about whilst working out on the treadmill or something! Just look at the success you have had so far, just keep up the good work! everyone enjoys themself every now and then =]!

    slime and PBing question

also...some of the time when i drink a bit of water right after swallowing food...i get a PB..and yes drinking while eating after the band is technically a no no (sometimes i can't help myself)...but i am quickly learning not 2 since it hurts so bad when i do drink while eating...it sucks lol
  14. StephOnee

    slime and PBing question

yeahh i had a PB in public last night...wasn't so bad...i just got up and made my way to the bathroom! I'm still learning....it gets better everyday =]
  15. so did anti-inflammatory meds cause the problem, or did the band? my doc told me not 2 use anti-inflammatory meds after surgery ( and i haven't). I am just curious!
  16. i have taken phentermine before and I was also successful with it. I lost about 35-40lbs, but once I stoped taking it, in less than 6months i started putting the weight back on. The pill suppresed my appitite to absolutly nothing, but because of that i didn't eat very much at all. Because i didn't eat very much i lost weight but my metabolism went to shit. I gained weight and i gained it fast ( i had never been 200lbs, but 3 years after getting off the stuff i shot up to 235 *how much i weighed b4 band*). When i started gaining weight i tried getting back on phentermine, like ahb08, but it didn't work the same...and when it didn't i became depressed and gave up. In addition to phentermine changing my appitie, it made me kind of crazyy i didn't notice when i was on it but my happys and sads were very extreme! When i would get mad...i would throw stuff at people (spoons, shoes, etc.). When i finally got off of it, the moods became even worse I would get so mad that i would black out, and after i came to I would start crying hystericaly! I didn't see a doctor about this, because i thought it was normal, so i can't say that it was directly caused by phentermine. But I can say now that I have been off of the stuff for about 3 1/2 years, I look back at that time in my life and i miss being skinny but i can't believe how CRAZY my emotions had been. I am no wheres near crazyy...i firmly believe that was the phentermine. You can't live on the stuff forever...and i feel like once i got off i crashed big time. I don't think i would take the stuff again unless absolutly neccessary! I honestly don't recommend it, unless it is your only option.
  17. it deffinantly sucks to like somebody so much and have them choose someone else over you. In my case the other girl also had a kid and was no where near as pretty as me (not to sound too concited..but it's true). And me and the guy I liked had a better relationship as well! I don't know why, and I'm left to this day still trying to figure it out (it has been about 3years), and i still think about him constantly. I had always had eating issues before but i had them under control and i was at a healthy weight and i looked amazing, but After he started dating this other girl everything changed I completely fell off the band wagon and gained about 91lbs (before I got my band). So i had almost the same exact story...except for i didn't eat less ...i ate more! I still think i should get counsling (i obviously am taking steps towards a healthier life *with my band*) but i don't know why i still always think of him! I think he was my first love though! Now i am in a relationship with someone else (the person i guess you can say i "setled" for ...i know that sounds bad), and i never stop thinking about the other guy...& i know the guy i'm with now deserves better cause (i have been with him for a little over 3 years & i know i don't want to marry him...but i haven't let him in on that yet)...i know i should break up with him, but for some reason i just won't! =/
  18. Hello my name is Stephanie I had my band put in on April 6th,2009, and i was wondering if anyone can feel their port if you touch your stomach? I am only 3weeks out so i know that there is still some swelling, i know this because i still have a little brusing! I can feel my port when i touch my stomach! is this normal? will it go away? will i look like i have a lump in my belly 4eva? i know this is pre-mature worrying...but i can't help it!
  19. Mine is constantly saying that my signature contains too many lines! Ever since I tried putting a signature on here it says that my signature is too long! The first time i tried it let me put a lot on there then everytime i try updating it says that my signature is too long! It says the max is 10 lines, but everytime I update it my lines have to become fewer and fewer! Today I had to take it off all together because it wouldn't even let me save one word! What's the deal?
  20. I have a couple... 1. I want to be able to go shopping with my mom and actually enjoy spending her money ;]! + being able to enjoy shopping with my friends again! 2. Be able to go on vacation again...and actually enjoy every second of it! without worrying about if I'm going to fit on a ride etc.! [My family went on a trip this year and i had to miss out on skydiving because i thought i was too fat] 3. Having the confidence and the courage to dump the guy who treats me like shit [i know i should be able to do it now...but i guess i just fear being alone or something] 4. Last but not least I can't wait to feel that DRIVE again! [being depressed makes you not care about anything]! -there are so many moree, but for the sake of time I'll leave it at 4-
  21. My dietitian at my surgical clinic suggests that we eat until "Comfortable" NOT "Full". My question is how do i know that I am comfortable and not full? I don't want to strech out my pouch!

    Port area question

After having surgery did anybody feel that there port area felt weird when you walk around?? Sometimes I feel like that area on my stomach weighs so much more than the rest of my stomach! It dosen't really hurt..it just feels a little uncomfortable sometimes!! Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Does it usually take longer for the port area to start feeling normal again? (I am only a week out from surgery..and i was just wondering if that is normal), please let me know if you have experienced anything similar!
  23. StephOnee

    Port area question

    Popcorn?!?

Has anyone had problems digesting popcorn? I'm just curious, because I didn't see this on my NONO list & it seems like it would be a difficult food to digest!
  25. I had surgery on April 6th (or last monday), prior to surgery I was losing about 2lbs a day on the liquid diet. After surgery I was still losing about 2lbs a day...when I got up to 15lbs it seemed like it was going to start slowing down...i lost 1 more pound the following day and that has been it. I have lost a total of 16lbs...but it has stalled for 2days...i'm starting to move on to more solid foods today (scrambled eggs, baked potatoes etc.). Does this mean I have plateaued already? Or does it mean I will start gaining the weight that I lost back with the new addition of scrambled eggs? I'm happy for what I have lost and i know at some point it slows down...is this my slow down? has anyone else experienced this? (I'm sure someone has)
