  4. Hi Nichole

I was banded on 9/24/08. At 6 months I lost 115 lbs! The band is whatever you want to put into it. I work out a lot and I do not eat fried or fatty foods. I won't eat any fatty mayo or dressings. I only drink milk and water. (Continued)

  5. I would rather eat my calroies than drink them. I run on the treadmil for 2 miles at lunch and then do a 50 min workout at home. I will do 100 sit ups before I go to bed at night. It is all in what you put into it. I had a little trouble when I went in to get a fill. I was 5 months and just going in for my first fill. They found out that my port had flipped and I would have to go back in for surgery to get it stiched back in. After the revision surgery (two weeks later) I was able to get my first fill. After the fill I kept having problems with certain foods. I would have to throw up about every other day. I told my doctor and the suggested that I come in to have some fluid taken out. The doctors weighed me and found out that I was losing 5 lbs a week. Which is great weight loss for me but I told them I would rather not lose it that way. So they took out .10CC of fluid and I have been doing great again! I am on my average 3 lbs weight loss a week and I can eat anything so far.

  6. Hi Nicole,

I have nothing but positive things to say about my whole experience. I went in around 10am and left the surgery center around 6pm the same day. I didn't have much pain at all but a ton of gas! I lost 8 lbs on the pre-op diet and 30 lbs after surgery. I have no regrets at all about having the surgery. This is the best thing I have done for me to help lose the weight because I would not have done it any other way. Let me know if you have any other questions and I will be more than happy to help! Good Luck!

  7. Hi Nicole, I'm more than happy to answer your questions (although I'm far from any kind of expert.) I lost 9 lbs prior to my surgery. Don't ask me how, because I didn't do any pre-surgery regimen.

Surgery itself was a breeze. I went in at 6am, and left by noon the next day. I've never had any surgery/anesthesia before this, but everything went so quickly and I was in virtually no pain. The nurses were surprised at how much I was moving around.

My weight loss in the first month was about 15 lbs, second month was about 9, and third month only 7. Part of the slow down is that you lose less when you're no longer on all liquids. And the other part is that I don't always make the best food choices :(. Let me know if I can be of any other help!

  12. Hi, my name is Nicole and I'm set to have surgery on 4/15/09 and I wanted to know if you could answer some questions for me. Have you had any major complications, how fast/slow has the weight been coming off and how long was your recovery/hospital stay?
